CT- good luck with the hysteroscopy, I had no idea that you had to go through all of this again for IVF, yickes! My friend had polyps and got rid of them and was fine, so I am sure that like Gecko said, you will be doing great and on your way to a BFP soon.
Corny- thinking of you and Abby
Gecko- I don't miss being pregnant, of course now looking at him it makes me glow but it was not an easy pregnancy for me, but I would do it all over in a flash!

Well, I have been very distraught since the doctor's visit. He had mentioned that bean always tries to look to the left. I guess I didn't pay that much attention to it since it didn't sound serious, well at the last visit he said that his neck muscles were tight and he is getting a flat spot and should go get a helmet! so now I feel like the worse mom in the world for not forcing him to lay on his right side. I can't tell he has a flat spot and my MIL who is a physical therapist looked him over and said she couldn't tell either. I am now obssessed with him looking right and spend my nights making sure he sleeps looking right. I really would rather not put him in a helmet and just try to do it naturally. The thing is we have this big trip to Rio in March. So I don't know if I should just try and be persistent and see if it gets better and if it doesn't I do the helmet thing when we get back from Rio, or do I just go do it now? Any opinions? I have been so bummed out...

Well, it is a polyp, it will have to be surgically removed before ivf, and this will most likely delay my cycle. The hysteroscopy today he said was strictly diagnostic, he said he only removes them at the hospital under general anesthesia. He said for surgery, I can not be on bcp's, so I will have to stop them, have the polyp removed, and then start again, and will probably miss this round of ivf. On top of all of this, he wanted me to get a physical before ivf since during my pregnancy I had some high blood pressure, and I am now under going all sorts of heart tests due to a borderline normal ekg, so he said we can not do surgery, polyp removal or ivf, until my heart is cleared. Ugh, this all really stinks.

CT Michele- Try to keep the PMA. It will all work out! I had uncontrolled blood pressure before my IVF cycles and it took some time to get the meds working right but my blood pressure went down and I was still able to get pregnant. I even have a slight heart murmur and it was ok. In fact, once I became pregnant my blood pressure dropped more and they had to cut my dosage in half! It stayed that way all the way until after delivery. It went up (but isn't too bad) after delivery. I am still on the half dose of meds. The meds don't interfere with pregnancy or harm the baby as long as you have been using them for a while and your bp is controlled. Don't worry. It sucks that you have to delay your cycle, but if it is what is best for the baby in the long run it will be good. I am thinking good thoughts for you.
Rio - Just looking at them makes a lot of stuff not seem so bad, like- no sleep, no control over your schedule, no money etc.....lol!
Well, Declan passed his four month physical with no problems. He weighs 18.6 lbs (little pork chop!) and is 27 inches long. He is in the 97th percentile for height, weight and head. The doctor said he is doing great and that we can try him on solids anytime we want. She said to try the cereal every week and eventually he will figure the whole spoon thing out and be off and running. In the meantime, he is gaining fine from just the formula. I am relieved.
Gosh you kids are tall and porkers hehe. I can not wait till mine get taller. They are now able to fit into some 3-6 months tho!
They had their RSV shot today and I cried. They started to cry as soon as they checked their temps. They knew what was about to happen. Makes my heart melt! They did not stop crying until we got into the car. Poor babies! I told the hubby at their 6 month he has to come with me because I can not take it on my own any more. *sigh*
Katie had her appointment with pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat doctor yesterday. He asked a ton of questions and said he would have to scope Katie to verify the Laryngomalacia. He said the easiest way to do it is for me to hold her arms down with my arm across her chest and I held her head with my other hand. He said if she is still, it would be quick and that it would be the easiest on her. I held her and tried not to cry as he stuck the scope through her nose and down her throat. She did cry very loudly for a couple minutes, but then she calmed down and it was over. He did confirm the "floppy voicebox" diagnosis. He stated she will get a little louder for a couple months as she gets more feisty, but it should go away before 18 months. He said "we are now going to leave your healthy daughter alone". It was good to finally get the final determination and know that it is temporary. People do ask why she breathes so loudly, and you know some people are down right nosy, but oh well.
Katie has has her hip ultrasound tomorrow. Because she is first born, a girl and she was breech, they want to make sure her hips are okay. All doctors say from her movement, she is fine, but they want just want to make sure she does not need a brace. Boy, it has been a busy week for my little girl. Next week is her two month doctor check. It will be interesting to see her stats. She is definitely getting heavier.
As for a schedule, Katie is eating about 5 oz 5 times a day. She wakes up around 6:00 am for a bottle and goes to sleep after until about 9:30 a.m. She has a bottle between 10 and 10:30, sleeps for about an hour and is up until around 2 to 2:30. She gets another bottle then and maybe sleeps an hour and a half between then and when she gets her next bottle around 6:30 to 7. After that bottle, she is usually awake until her last bottle between 10:30 to 11:30 when she goes to sleep until around 6.
I go back to work on March 2nd, so I'm sure the schedule will change due to that. I have to meet with our daycare provider next week to discuss the "floppy voicebox", to make sure she is comfortable with the noises she makes. I don't know why she wouldn't be, but we don't want her to worry, so she will meet Katie and we have some info on the condition.
RIO - Please don't beat yourself up. We are all new at this, and I know your bean's neck will be fine. I really wish they did have a manual to hand out when you leave the hospital. In the hospital, they told us we were overfeeding Katie and that is why she was gassy. After we left, she wasn't gaining weight fast enough and doctor told us we were underfeeding her. It is very frustrating. Your trip sounds wonderful, I am jealous. I am tired of being cold, and that darned groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter. LOL
CT - I had a polyp in my utuerus a few years ago and had to have it surgically removed. The recovery was not very hard, and I hope it does not delay your IVF long at all.

Jomae - Katie's full name is Katherine Sue Ann. She has two middle names, but will mostly be known as Katie Sue. We originally were going to have her middle name be Jennifer after our IVF RN. We learned early on that our RE was brilliant and knew his stuff, but it was the RN that gets you through the hard times, answering all the questions, holding hands and so on. But, my mother passed away when I was 9 weeks pregnant, so we changed her middle name to what she was called. Her name was Barbara, but she went by Sue her whole life. The Ann is one of my mother-in-law's middle names. Since we were honoring my mother, I wanted to honor both.
Suga - I hope everyone is feeling better. It was so hard when Katie had her cold. You can't really do anything but run a vaporizer. Our doctor told us to use saline drops and nasal aspirator, but the ENT doc we went to yesterday said they can have adverse affects and probably shouldn't be used. Even doctors cannot agree. Again, how frustrating.
Mellie - Yes, Katie is smiling in that picture. She has been smiling alot and she loves to try to talk. She makes all these talking type noises and loves to have a conversation with my MIL.

Hi girls...just a quick update before I go back to catch up on everyone. And I do have a lot of catching up to do! But Abby did great. We were in the hospital for 9 days but got discharged last night! It was the most heartbreaking thing for us as parents to go through, but she is a little champ. Right now we are just battling a nasty diaper rash. But everything else looks great and the incision is healing well. Thanks for thinking of us and for the well-wishes. I often tell Abby about my IVF "friends" and someday I will show her this website, when she is old enough to get it. For now, I'll go back and catch up, but again...thanks to everyone!
Kbear- that must really be such a relief to know that Katie's voicebox is all that it is, and that it will get better as she grows- I am looking forward to spring on all accounts now!!
Corny- that's great news! how big is she now? I bet diaper rash is a blessing after all you've been through.
suga- cant' get used to calling you twinmommy- I know- all these great big babies- (cept for mine hee hee ) I'm pretty sure he's past 10lbs now- so I can use him as a baby barbell!

I sort of think Pulman has my mouth, and that part between the nose and lips, and just because he's short on hair at the moment, he looks like dh- but other than that, he's sort of his own being- it's weird to me. I keep looking for something familiar, but I really believe he's his own fella - thoughts? any "mini me's" out there?
I am going out with the girls to Jesus Christ Superstar tonight @ the Lyric Opera House. (if any of you listen to NPR, a few weeks back, they mentioned that the Baltimore Opera Company went bankrupt - this is their home) It's a beautiful theatre and I really loved going t operas there, it's too bad the economy and poor management closed the doors on opera in Baltimore. - I think a lot of communities need to introduce this powerful artform in a more contemporary way to get young people interested in it -1 big way is to make it more affordable for all to see.
Anyhow- sorry for the tirade- I am sooo excited about JCS- it's probably my favourite musical- I have been singing all the tunes since I found out I was going- hope I can keep my trap shut during the performance
Jomae- how's the potty training going? ( i kinda am dreading that a bit)
loopie- great question about who the babies look like. When ella was first born, everyone said she looked like dh, and i agreed. The first words I heard after her cry in the delivery room were from the anesthesialogist who said "sorry mom, she looks like dad!" Everyone joked about how it was a good thing she looked like dad, since she came out of me they knew she was mine...I know a weird thing for people to joke about. BUt when they said that, I use to think, well, with ivf, I guess you never really do know what happens behind the scenes. So now, she looks like me more. I still think she has dads nose, but I think her lips and eyes look like me and everyone who meets her says, "oh my goodness, she looks just like you."
How was JCS? Hopefully everything you hoped for and more!
Corny- so glad you popped in to tell us abby was doing well. I am glad to hear she is home and make sure to keep us updated, we are thinking about you guys!
Kbear- thanks for the encouraging words about the polyp situation, I hope recovery is not too bad, I just hate any kind of surgery. But I have heard from a few people now that it is not that bad.
Sorry to hear you have to go back to work, are you going back full time, part time? What do you do for work again? I am sure the daycare person will be fine with the noises, probably will just have to get use to it.
That is interesting about the hip u/s. Ella was also my first born, a girl and breech, but no one has mentioned anything about hips or movement. Maybe I will have to ask.
Gecko- Thanks for the kind words, and helping me to keep up the pma. I am glad declan passed his 4 month check up, and man, I can not believe the percentiles. He beat ella's fourth month weight by over 6lbs. How much did he weigh at birth? Is he already is size 3 diapers? Ella is just about reaching the limit on the size 1/2 that says up to 15lbs. I think at my next sams club trip I will get the bigger size. Well atleast we know he is healthy and gaining just fine!
We took ella to yale's peabody museum last night with my parents group. The museum held a special after hours nighttime event, where they had all sorts of extra activities, like live animals, scavenger hunts, snacks, movies and people dressed up as characters. Ella is obviously still abit young, but I enjoy getting her out and experiences those types of things. I also used my baby carrier for the first time and it worked out good, I really think she liked it.
Ok, off to relax. Dh just went to work and he is sick. And I think Ella is getting sick too...so sad...her first cold. I guess we are lucky she made it almost 6 months without even a sniffle. She has been coughing today and her nose is a little crusty. Hopefully it won;t get bad and she will shake it off quick, I just hope i don;t get sick too.

My doctor always checks the girls hips because I suppose it is a greater chance for displasia with twin girls? Plus they were breech...but so far she has found nothing wrong with them
I am working with Brooke on grasping things. She will hold them for a second then drop it. She does not really know she has something. Then for both of them I am trying to work with reaching for things...Kenzie holds and plays with things and puts them right to her mouth. So she knows she has stuff. It is just so odd how one is ahead of the other in something where the other one is behind...like Brooke can sit up better and wants to crawl...Kenzie has better fine motor skills...
kbear - I am glad Katie got a good report at her appointment. It must be nice to know whe will grow out of her floppy voicebox without any intervention. Good luck with the u/s.
Corny - I have been following your blog and am glad Abby is home. I hope the bowel obstruction turns out to be nothing serious. Poor baby. How are you holding up?
loopie - It is particularly hard for me when the topic comes up (as it does at EVERY family gathering) about how much the baby looks like his dad. In fact, several family members have made a point to say that they don't see me in there anywhere. We chose not to share with everyone about our use of DE and it really hurts sometimes to hear comments like that from well meaning family. I know he is my son but sometimes it is really hard. That being said, it is really amazing how much he does look like DH and DH's dad. We call him mini me!
Michele - Yep, Declan is a porker! He weighed over 8lbs at birth and almost 12 lbs at his 2 month check. The doctor didn't say he was too big or anything, so I guess it is ok. He is still in size 2 diapers - for now!
Suga - We have also worked with Declan grasping things and once he got started he has done pretty well. He still drops things a lot. What he really likes is his burp cloth. We tease him about wiping his own mouth because he loves to suck on it.
Well, Declan has his first cold. He woke up yesterday with a wet cough. I called the pedi and they said that as long as he wasn't running a fever to just try saline drops in his nose (he HATES that) and periodically steaming him in the bathroom and make sure he is elevated when he sleeps. They even said he wasn't sick enough stay home from daycare so I took him to daycare this morning and felt really bad. I should be home with him but I can't. DH is at the fire station and I have missed so much work already. I can't wait for school to end so I can go pick him up. I just hope he gets some sleep there and isn't too cranky.
Hey Jomae - I hope you are ok! The wild fires are all over the news here in the states. I hope you are safe and well and that your family is fine. Let us know how you are doing when you get the chance.
Gecko: Sorry about the cold. They last about 7-10 days in most cases. I hope he gets better soon. Try a humidifier as well. I had not idea you used a DE...did I just miss that? That must be hard to hear. They say that about Brooke as well. They both really look a lot like him. The only reason people say Kenzie looks like me is because of her blond hair and lighter skin.
We are in size 3 diapers. Mostly because Brooke has a big belly and I do not want to buy 2 different sizes. Kenzie can still wear 2 but 3 are just as good.

GEcko thanks for checking on me yes we are in another state to the fires thankfully so all fine here we do have family in melbourne but they don't live in the affected areas. they need to string up the sod who lit them and post his face in the newsd so everyone knows just who he/She is. Btw i get you on peoples comments we didn't share with anyone at all we get the comments are you sure they aren't the doctors and not dhs. it use to be regularily mentioned but not so much these days i just laugh it off and say well you never know ha ha but yep it can be hard
Hey Loopie the toilet training is going great with not many accidents at all the other morning i hear ds banging around in the toilet when i go to check on him he had taken off his nappy done a wee in the potty and then tried to pour it into the toilet he had also done a poo in his nappy which he tipped the poo out into the toilet and then went on to wrap his nappy up and when he saw me he simply said "you were sleeping" it definately shows how quickly he's growing up and how much he takes in of what i do with him
i have 4 month check and needles today although i don't know if they'll give them to her seeing some sod thought not to keep clear of her knowing they had tonsilitis and has now shared it with her the poor little chop so i guess we'll see when we get there.
Speaking of the chop she's starting to stir better go
It was on this day (Feb 11th) last year that the torture ended for me! This is the anniversary of when I POAS and got my BFP. I am sitting here at work remembering how completely scared I was b/c I was planning to POAS when I got home. I remember praying as I walked home and laying on the sofa with tears streaming down my face while I waited to go test. I was so afraid it wouldn't be positive. And now, here I am at work looking at my digital picture frame loaded with pics of my sweetie!
I just had to share with you ladies b/c I know you understand. I am getting teary just thinking about it all.
