Racheal- sorry to hear once again that your not feeling good... you poor thing. However, thankfully this time it's just allergies. Good luck on your test tomorrow... I hope you pass! Keep us posted when you can....

As for us we're doing well. Getting ready for class tonight - tonight we get to tour the hospital. I can't wait.... I'm so glad I still have as much energy as I did before (ok maybe a little less), but still a ton. However, I know that will change very soon so I'm trying to get as much done as I can. We're having a neighbor install a ceiling fan in 2 weeks and DH & my Dad are going to paint the room in 3 weeks. Then my Mom is hanging the border (just because I have never done that before). Then all I have to do is decorate..... it will be here before I know it.

Have a great night everyone!

Hi girls...

Colleen--that must have been scary! I'm glad to hear your contractions have stopped. Take it easy, girl!

Tasha--Sounds like you've got that nursery under control. I'm glad to hear you're still go go going! Have fun at class tonight!

Racheal--Speaking of sick kids....another kid was sent to school today with CHICKEN POX!!!!! ARggghhhh! Will people ever learn? Sorry to hear your allergies are acting up again. Good luck tomorrow on your glucose test. Keep us posted.

Cowgirl...I"m keeping my fingers crossed for one of each! But, of course, I"ll take whatever God gives me...

We did have an US today! All looks good (at least to the tech...I'll have to hear more from my doc.) Baby A is 1 pound 8 ounces. Baby B is 1 pound 10 oz., and they are both right on track for being 24 weeks along. I wonder when they'll start to slow down? THey can't keep up a normal singleton pace forever. I"m just glad that they're not measuring "big" like baby b did last time! WHew! The heartbeats were 145 and 156. I was looking for a little hot dog, but couldn't find one (curiosity was getting to me!). But the tech said things are really cramped in there--no kidding--so it would be hard for an untrained person to tell. I'm just glad that all looked good.

As for my friend, no change as of yet. Baby B is stable for now and mom is still hospitalized. I'll let you know when I hear something. Thanks for your prayers!

I went today and bought the picture frames and ribbons for the family tree. I"ll probably start working on hanging things in a couple of weeks when I'm on spring break.

Gotta run. I gotta figure out what's for dinner!

Good Morning Girls....

I feel great today... I had a great workout this morning and my sciatica pain has been better. Well we learned all about labor last night in class... and learned some new breathing techniques. We didn't get to take our tour since the labor & delivery rooms were all booked... 8 women were in labor as of last night. So we're going to try and do the tour next week.... tonight we have an OB appointment. Can't wait to see how much I've gained again!!! J/K

Kim- it's great to hear your US went good... I'm going to change my mind... I think your having one of each now (based on the heartbeats). Baby's seem to be doing well and gaining weight very nicely... hopefully they slow down for your sake though.

I hope the rest of you are doing well and taking care of your little ones...

Hello Girls... ok so I just got back from my doctors appointment and I got my GTT results. I failed.... I can't believe it.... I thought for sure I passed. My glcose level was at 165 (not to high he said) but enough to have them order the 3 hour test for me. So I think I'm going in next Friday the 30th... and I'm just going to take the day off. This way if I get sick I can just come home and rest. I'm so bummed...... :(

Good Morning Girls!

Sorry I did not post yesterday, but I was really sick after my test. I failed, but but only by 6 points. This means a diet change should be all that is needed.

Tasha - I am really sorry to hear your news. However, the number was not too high. Hopefully you will pass the three hour. As for taking the entire day off, do it! I was forced to yesterday because I was just too sick and wiped out after the test.

Kim - Those babes are going to do great! If they do keep the growth up, they have a much better chance of survival. Kepp them well feed and warm!

I hope the rest of you are all getting much needed rest!

I will try to post a little later.

hi there girls...

Rachael- sorry to hear about the 3 hour results, at least they were not too bad... did you fail one of the blood draws or more then one..... i know that my doc would say that if you just failed one test by 6 points, then they would not make you go through the daily multipul tests... are the finger pricks something that you are going to have to do?? hope not.. the test made me kinda sick to my stomach, but not too bad... sorry that it wiped you out!! hope that you are doing better...

kim-awesome on the US... they are growing good... keep up the good work!! you are still hanging in there and not finding out... that's cool... what a surprise that will be.... good luck on hanging the pictures and stuff

tasha- hope that your 3 hour is normal, and do take the day off... first off, you are going to be there over 3 hours, then it can make you sick to your stomach, and made me a little dizzy... there are many people who fail the 1 hour, and pass the 3 hour, myself included... and i think that you have PCOS, right... that is a reason to be natural proned to diabeties, or insuline resisatnce... so it just might be a slight insuline resastance thing... either way, be careful, because aubrey is on the big side already, you do not want to have her too big.... too bad that you got the bummer news after feeling great yesterday..

as for us... we are ok... i was at the dr's again with more contractions and appeared to lose my plug... so i got a little worried and it's early to lose that.... there was a little cervical change, ( i was 1 one the outside portion of the cervix, and ok on the inside-towards the uterus) but nothing major.. now i'm on limited activity.. he was going to say bedrest, but looked at my 3YO DS and said... it's in your best interest to rest and limit your activity as much as you can... otherwise i'm sending you to L&D again, and this time will be for at least 24hours, and more if you put yourself into labor.. so if i get more then 5 contractions per hour for 2 hours i need to go straight to L&D... he said that it will be a lot harder to have someone watch my DS for that, then if i take it easy and do nothing at home... we are also on weekly visits... on top of that my BP was crazy high...170/99....yeikes...

well.... i hope that everyone takes it easy, and let the babies GROW GROW GROW!!

Racheal- sorry to hear you were sick yesterday after your test... I hope I don't get sick like that after mine, but who knows. Also sorry to hear you didn't pass again... thank god only a diet changed is needed.

Colleen- Wow more contractions... scary! Make sure you take it easy like the doctor says... this willhelp your blood pressure also.

Well I have a question for you girls... I have been reading the GTT tests need to be done between 24-28 weeks. Well I was hoping I could go in next week for my re-test. However, I'll be 1 day short of 30 weeks by then... is that too late to test? I'm going to call my doctor today, but they aren't in until 2:00pm.

Thanks Girls,
Tasha

Wow Colleen! You need t be super careful now. Please try and take it very easy. I will pray for you and your baby to stay safe! Do you monitor your blood pressure daily?

Tasha sorry you failed your GTT, hopefully you will pass the 3 hour test. I get my results Friday.

Rachael - sorry about the GTT. Hopefully all you will have to do is watch the diet.

Sorry if I missed anyone!
Take care and God Bless

tasha-as i understand it.. the 1st test should be done then.. it doesn't matter if you have it later as , if you have gestational diabeties, you'll usually get it during the 24-28 week mark.. and it doesn't go away.. so it will still be there at 30 weeks... look up about the carb loading for 3 days prior to the test.. i think that it will be fine when you are almost 30 weeks... i'd stay away from the refinded sugar, not completly, just limit the sugar... even if you do pass the 3 hour...

take care!!!

Thanks Colleen... yeah I plan on eating more carbs 3 days prior to my test plus upping my protein intake as well. Cutting back on the sugars for sure now....

Hey girls...

Colleen, I hope you can manage to take it easy...your little one needs you! I'll keep you and your babe in my thoughts and prayers.

Racheal--I'm sorry about the GTT. I have a feeling you will manage it very well though. You seem to be on top of things already with dietary changes.

Tasha--good luck on your next test!

We had our first baby care class last night. It was a late night for me, but it was really helpful. They talked about dealing with baby fusiness, illness, swaddling and infant massage. Next week, we'll go over more topics. My DH was amazed that we'll have to feed the babies around every 2-2 1/2 hours...I think he feels bad for me! [I also reminded him that breastfed babies will probably poop just as much...and that diapers will be his job! ha ha!] DH is seriously in shock right now about the reality facing us. He'll be okay once they're here, though!

I had a strange thing happen today. Sorry if it's TMI--I was using the restroom this morning, and when I wiped, there was one small little dot of blood. Probably about the size of a pencil eraser. That was it. Nothing else all day. Has this ever happened to any of you? I haven't been in any pain, and I can feel the babies inside of me...any words of wisdom? We haven't had sex the past few days, so it's not that...it was just weird to get one little speck and nothing else! :? Thanks for any pearls of advice.

Have a good night girls and keep resting!

Hi again....

I almost forgot. My friend and baby b are doing very well! She might get released from the hospital tomorrow. She found out that baby A was a boy, and she named him Christian. Baby B is also a boy. He seems to be okay for now. Thanks for your prayers!

hi girls... hope that we are all having a good day..!! we are doing good... keeping the contractions at bay.. so hanging in there... i forgot to say yesterday that DH got called for jury duty and was picked for the jury.. it's a 5 week trial... and there is no way to get ahold of him durning the day...yeikes.. so pray that nothing happens in the next 5 weeks, because who knows what we would do if i had to go into L&D for monitoring?? we also planned on taking the kids to a water park over spring break, next week, and now we can not do that....

kim- glad to hear that your friend is doing better and baby b is still doing well... hope that your DH will get over the shock... as soon as he sees the little ones, he'll hopfully snap into the parent roll... as for the spot of blood.. i havn't had it this pregnancy, but last there were a few times that it happened... i was told that it was nothing, and not worry... they said it could be the cervix, or anything.... they said start to worry if there is a lot of blood.. i would mention this at your next appointment...

well, hope that everyone is well.....
