Hi ladies! I was previously on the Sept/Oct board, and was hoping to not come on to the Nov/Dec one...but I guess I'm gonna have to, and yes I'm excited all over again! I already cried enough to flood my city, and now I have hope and just can't wait!

M first IVF, had 8 delayed fertilization and by day 3 only 2 was okay.. and that's the reason the Dr thinks it didnt work..so this time we're trying it with ICSI. This time, DH's lil soldiers best penetrate my eggs!!

Anyways, Im excited to join this group, everyone seems supportive and so sweet and I definetly need to vent to someone. The first time, I told my sister and a few close friends...this cycle..NOBODY! Its just me and my hubby. So all I will have is you ladies.

Best of luck to everybody, hope to see lots of BFP on here and look forward to the journey with all of you...Yay im still excited!

P.S. Lou, I am very sorry to hear about your BFN. But our time will surely come!!

Hi Lou71- My clinic told us initially their thaw rate for FET was 70%. Then the DAY before my FET, the doctor that I saw that day (my clinic rotates doctors...it's like a big fertility factory!) said their FET thaw rate was 90%...which I thought was high...but I was happy to hear it. Well...our thaw rate was 50% in this FET cycle. If you go to SART.ORG you can research more on the national averages, clinic rates for FET live birth rates. I haven't been able to find any that list thaw rates.

I would speak to your clinic about their thaw rates. Tell them you only have one and you need a serious assessment of what to expect as far as it's thaw survival rate. We all know they can't promise anything. There is soooo much they don't know. This I have learned for sure from this process! Just keep that in mind. And just remember...one is all it takes!

Hi ladies...

Lou - So sorry that you cycle didn't work. At least you still have a frozen embie and I have heard lots of times that FET's are better then fresh cycles because our bodies aren't under as much stress with the drugs. I noticed that you are in IL. Do you mind telling me where you are cycling?

Karen - Congrats on your transfer and now being PUPO. I am surprised that your clinic didn't put your embies in several straws so they didn't have to thaw them all out to do a transfer.

Julia - Hope you have a safe flight and get to enjoy your DH when you get home.

teachermom
- YEY!! 5 Fertilized. Congrats! Good Luck on Friday.

HONEY34BUNNY - Congrats that both fertilized. For my second IVF I was in the same boat. They only retrieved 2 and both of those fertilized. I was so relieved. Of course it didn't work but that doesn't mean it won't work for you. Keeping my fingers crossed that those are some sticky embies.

Katie - i have been lost on this board. Where are you at in your cycle?

AFM - I transfered 2 embies on Monday which was a 3dt. 1-8cell and 1-7cell, one was a grade one and the other was a grade 2. Now I am going insane. Keephoping I have a blast inside of me today. My other eggs were only at 4-cells on Monday so my RE wouldn't transfer any of those. They are pretty strict on what they transfer. They are going to see if they make it to freeze but I seriously doubt it. My beta's are 11/17 which then I will only get the results if I ask and then on 11/19.

Hi girls -

You ladies are getting hard to keep up with! Theres 2 more pages since last night!

teachermom -Whoo hoo! 5 fert! :D Sooo happy for you! When is your ET?

lulu -You have a ggod amount of follies! The numbers will keep changing, they still continue to grow even after you trigger. I get the same way though, i think the sonographer gets tird of me asking for a count every single u/s!

julia -The waiting will go quicker with the holidays right around the corner! At least I hope it does! Have a safe trip home!

Cheeky -Co culture is when they take a bit of your own lining to use as culture, I havent heard of it being used too much, maybe its expensive? how are you doing? not too much longer now!

Karen -Glad to hear your TX went well. I was hoping that your clinic was finished stressing you out, but I guess not just yet. I would have been mad, its just easier to thaw them all!

Skylar -It makes you think doesnt it? its sad that here we are going through all of this expense, time, side effects, effort to get pg, and its so easy for someone who doesnt even want to be pg! Just not right! it will make us better moms though after have been so determined to get there! :D

Chris -Hooray for TX!!! I'm so happy for you! :D They both sound strong! I'll stay crossed for to to get some frosties ( i've always wanted some myself, but never that lucky!) I'm on estrace til the 26th & start stims on 12/3 - seems like forever from now

Lou -I got AF 3 days after stopping the PIO - we'll start the hurry up AF dance for you!

Syanna -nice to see you again! Welcome! :D

Olim -Hope ER went well & you got lots!

hugs & prayers to all of us! - xoxo

1st appointment

Post by bethanyneedsluck »

Well there is good news and bad news (I think), had my appointment today and the u/s went good, have 12 follicles 1-2 cm on my left and 8 on the right wich is good right? The bad news is I only have so much saved for all this and the meds are EXPENSIVE so much that I may not have enough to do the cycle if I pay for all the meds I will figure it out I always do! Damn insurance not covering anything. I pay them faithfully for years and only use it for my yearly check ups and no help from them when I really need it. Well I guess there is my rant for the day, I feel better now. I hope all is going well for all you ladies.

Sorry to crash so late, but I'm still waiting to find out what our next step will be. We've now had two m/c's and the last time we did get to see a heartbeat. We are now waiting for the RE to go over all our secondary blood work and we will go from there. We still have two FEs left from the first ER.
I am tring to get through all of the posts, I can't believe how quick this board got going. I'll be doing personals soon as soon as I figure out who's doing what.
We have an appointment with the RE next Tuesday and hope to find out more. I don't know whats worse, finding or not finding something wrong.

My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Help with meds

Post by albany07 »

Bethanyneedsluck - go to www.fertilitylifelines.com, you may be eligible for coupons on your gonal-f or free pens. Good luck! I really hope you get through this one.

Also, check with the drug manufacturers directly. Explain your situation, they may be able to offer you a discount card for free meds.

Lastly, talk to your clinic. They get free samples from the drug reps.

Hope this helps and never forget to fight for what you want!

Claud -Hooray for needles tomorrow! Good luck & crossed for no lupron headaches!

Honeybunny -Welcome! Good luck with your ET tomorrow!

Bethany -yes, it does suck to be totally out of pocket, most of us are too. Its hard, theres no way around it. Albany is right - try fertilitylifelines. com ask them about the compassionate care program
ask your clinic for samples, or donated meds - thats what they're for. I will absolutely donate leftover meds back to my clinic when I finally get a BFP. Good luck to you!

Malya -Welcome! Good luck with your RE appt. I know how frustrating it can get :?

Starting again!

Post by BRMommy2B »

I just found this forum about a week ago, while in my 2WW on my first IVF cycle. Just found out a few minutes ago that we got a BFN. I'm trying to stay positive, and wish I could lean on friends for support, but they are ALL pregnant or have small children. My husband and I are really bummed and I think we're going to do a mini-vacation this weekend.

My RE discovered during my last cycle that only about half of my eggs were mature, and if it didn't work out we'd look into that. We had 13 eggs, 7 were mature, 5 fertilized, and there were 3 left on day three, two 8-cell and one 5-cell. They decided to go ahead and transfer the two 8-cell on day 3, and keeping watching the 5-cell. They called me a few days later. On day 5 they called to tell me my 5-cell progressed and they froze it (don't know what the grade was). So now we have to decide by tomorrow if we're going to do the FET (AF visited today) in December. I hate to waste it, but worry that we'll waste so much time if it doesn't survive the thaw. Any input would be appreciated!
