Hi, is it too late to join you guys? I have never done this message board thing. I found this site and read this thread in one sitting. :) It is great reading about others going through the same thing. I started Lupron on 4/18 and hopefully start stimms on May 2nd for a ER around May 13th. I had three failed IUI’s in 2007 and had started 1st IVF in Feb. 2008. I was one week into Lupron when I had a horrible night of pain. Went to doc next day and found out I was pregnant!! Had two days of hope (though knew a belly full of blood is not good), but found out was ectopic. Two weeks later pain still real bad and ended up having last tube removed. Just found out 1 1/2 weeks ago I could start again. Yipee!!!

wantamiraclebaby – I think you should do a HPT. It never would of occurred to me that I was pregnant on BCP/Lupron after TTC for 4 years. I have learned strange things can happen.

Congrats for Donna and mjwilliams!! Hoping good beta numbers for you.

Hi all! You all seem to have a lot of blood tests and scans. The last hospital I went with I was having them 3 times a week but at this private clinic I have had NO blood tests and only 2 scans before EC. They are really nice but if feels as if straight in and out! As long as they do their job well, which so far we have been impressed with in relation to all the important stuff, then that's fine, but do feel like I've not been monitored as closely as you lot. Maybe it's the 2 week protocal? Anyway, it's certainly been a lot less intense this way! :)

I am going to post again in a mo - don't want to lose it again! x

Hi again! Had to do a round up of all my fur babies - cats fed and in, Molly our dog given her medicine! Goodness, my nipples keep getting sore due to the gesterone, I assume! Ouch.........

Donna - what are you like! LOL  Though it's worked out for you being an HPT addict. Congratulations - I loved the photo and am keeping it in my mind as part of my positive thought bank. You must be so excited - I am SO happy for you hun! :D :D How long before the official testing date did it show up - erm, just out of interest, ahem.........

Joe - You too! Big hugs to you and your DW - it's so exciting to have such positive starts to the results, if you'll pardon my pun......xxxxxxxxxxxx

Courtney - your follies are doing brilliantly! As you can see from the board, you can get a hundred follies but few eggs or less follies and some excellent embies. It's all an unpredictable process. I'm amazed how they get some to speed up and others to stay still? We were over the moon with our 8 eggs, even though only a few of them were mature so just keep being happy. :)

Yellow/Rubylee - Oh yes, maternity tops are all the rage now and aren't they great! My shorter more fitted ones show every little (and big) bulge so I try to avoid them. I've really noticed how my body has filled out all over in the past few weeks - the meds plus not being as active and chomping far too mush comfort food! Who cares if it works out eh. x

Stephanie - oh my goodness, you poor love! What a lot you've been through and yet you seem so strong and positive. Let's hope you'll have some good luck and a mega BFP so you can have some good memories of this year. You are in my thoughts. You could post a photo of your garden and we'll give our expert critiques on it! I'm sure it's lovely and hope it's a great place you can escape to. x

Jes/Jim - how did the transfers go? Nice and smooth I hope. xxxxxx

Veronica - welcome to the group! :) Please feel very comfortable about joining in as we are all here to support each other. Boy do we need it eh! x

And Amber, I am so gutted for you my darling and so sad you are leaving this thread. It wasn't meant to be this time but next time (which as you say is not long) will be YOUR lucky cycle. A new place, a new protocal and a new start! I hope everything goes well for you and you manage to feel a little bit better each day. As the hormones work their way out of your sysytem you will hopefully see your next chance more brightly.
Best of luck to you Amber. lots of love, Jeanie xxxxxxxxxx

HI everyone!

I'm just back from our Caribbean cruise. It was to have been our "Babymoon" - we booked it when I got pregnant in January - so I went into it with mixed emotions. Of course, I already had cute maternity outfits picked out for each day, and they are now in a box in the basement. It was a nice time, but I can't say it was my favorite vacation. Still, any day on vacation in the sunshine beats a day in the office. :D

While on vaca, AF came visiting, so I'm scheduled for my hysteroscopy on Wednesday and then we start the Lupron for the next cycle. Does anyone else have intense pain during hysteroscopys? The doctor offered to put me under IV sedation for this one since the last one was so bad, but I feel like a big baby asking for that. Other women seem to breeze through them . . .

I've got lots to catch up on from my week away. I was amazed to see so many posts and hear such wonderful news from so many. I'll look forward to reading them all at a leisurely pace over the next day or two.

Good luck to everyone!

Hi Jeanie-

I hope you're doing well. Where are you at in your cycle right now?

We had the ET this afternoon and Dri is on bed rest. 2 8-cell emby's were transferred. Man, they are beautiful kids! I'm trying not to get too hopeful because I know it's up to God and not the doctors as to if we get a baby. I'm just praying a lot. I'll be okay if He decides it's not our time yet but Dri is super sensitive. She has a big heart. Please, God?

Anyway, I hope you're all doing well and we're pulling for each of you!

Hi Everyone! I got back from St Louis late tonight. My appt went fine--it was just b/w, but I have to go back Wed! So, I'll have to r/s a bunch of my pts. I forgot who asked, but I'm a dentist, as is Chelly! :) Last cycle I went every 3 days until I got closer to ER. I don't know if they are watching me more closely this time or what. Anyway, I'll be there!

Smattison-I'm so sorry abt your dad. Sometimes it seems as though everything happens at once. It is wonderful that you can be so strong for your mom even with everything you are going thru. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Donna and Joe-Congrats! What wonderful news for both of you. Well, Donna, I guess the 6th time is the charm!

Sameera-How are you doing today? You are in my prayers as well.

Chelly-Good luck at your ER! Let us know how it goes.

Courtney-Good luck at your ER--it'll be here soon. How'd the trigger shot go? Let us know how it goes.

For all of you who feel like you are gaining weight, I'm with you. I went shopping with my mom and aunt after my appt today. Depressing! I told my aunt this cycle has to work and then I won't have to lose the weight right away :) I bought a couple tops, but no pants! I gained weight with my first IVF, but lost it quickly after the BFN. Again, hopefully this time I'll keep it for a good reason.

Amber-I'm so sorry to hear your news. My heart goes out to you. I'm sure Yellow can offer some great advice on Chicago. Please continue to let us know how everything is progressing for you.

Veronica-Welcome!!

Dri-Jim-You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep your PMA, it will help your wife as well!

Jeanie-How are the fur babies? Mine are sleeping on the sofa right now. I agree with you, Yellow, and Rubylee--maternity style tops are in! Thank goodness--hides the bloat :)

Amy-I say go for the sedation when offered! I have pain with everything done by an OBGYN! I know alot of women say certain procedures are no big deal and not painful. Well, good for them. As for the rest of us--bring on the sedation :) (Sorry abt your loss. Welcome back.)

Hi
I have a question since i am a POAS addict. I took a First Response early detection this morning and i can barely see the second line. BUt when I take the Dollar General Test (this morning), it is a faint but very noticeable line. Is there a reason why two tests would be so different?

It seems like my HCG isn't getting much higher. Today is 12dp3dt.
Thusday is the big beta day so I will know more then.

Thank you,

DOnna

I'm new to this board and to IVF

Post by heekinje »

Hi,

My name is Jayne and I've been reading this board for a few days now and wish I had found it a few weeks ago. I am now 5 days post 3dt and I feel like the days are now moving in slow motion. I keep looking for signs but I think the prometruim is giving its own side effects! I have endometriosis and my husband has low count so we were recommended for IVF and ICSI - no IUI for us. We transferred two 8 cell embryos last Thursday. Do 8 cell transfers on day three typically go well on this board? Should I be feeling any sign of pregnancy at this point? I've enjoyed reading your posts and hope to get to know some of you!

Hi Jayne - welcome to the board!

Everyones body reacts differently to symptoms - so I wouldn't worry about it if you haven't felt anything. Are you getting cramps or maybe bloating or anything??

When is your Beta??
