Heelllllloooooooooo ladies!!!!

I’m so sorry ive been MIA. I’m always bloody MIA!! …but I do read your posts very regularly!! Anyway, here we go (sorry in advance for the long post....hehe, i do like annoying all of you!! Image only joking!)

Gill – aaww, I know how your husband must feel (and you!). my dh found out he is diabetic about 3-4 years ago and he’s found it very difficult initially. Especially as he has a very sweet tooth!! But he’s come to terms with it and is really coping well with it now. Glad that it hasn’t affected Barcelona for you though!! :D

Js2006 – correct me if I’m wrong but were you on the dec/jan thread?? So sorry to hear that you weren’t suppressed. I’m so glad that you are now though! Woohooo!! grow follies grow! Image God, I’m so sorry about your clinic mucking you around like that!! That’s awful! clinics like that really make me cross!

Welshbuuuuugggger!! I’m so so pleased about your appointment on the 18th! Image That’s our wedding anni so that must be a good sign! :D :D Bet you’re so excited! Thanks also for putting my mind at rest about the trigger. You’re quite right, the joys of IVF!! Sorry to hear AF has come with a vengeance and hope you sorted your "AF things" out at work! also, Well done on raising so much money! I’m gonna go and have a look at the pics in a mo. and about your results, oh honey, so sorry to hear you're having to go through such a tough time. did you phone them yesterday?? Please let us know asap what they said. Try not to worry (I know its easier said than done). This is really not what you need with all this going on. I definitely agree with you though, this definitely needs sorting before the ivf for the time being! Big hugs! Image (by the way, the list is looking fab!)

Jen1d – thanks for putting my mind at rest about the trigger. Really hope AF disappears again before your mock ET. If she wants to be there at ET though then I’m sure you’re not the first and I’m sure you wont be the last either. It’s still not nice, I know, but you’ll be fine. Sorry to hear about your friend. It makes you feel awful, doesn’t it? We found out that my dh’s nephew’s girlfriend is pregnant too. And the family is so close that this will be the talk of the family for the next 6 months. Great! Just try and put up your shit shield….it’s one that a lady called becky invented on the dec/jan thread. Here it is just for you: Image
Anyway, have a great time….i’m sooo excited for you!

Karia – aaaww, honey! Hope you and dh have sorted things out and are talking again. It must be such a hard decision to make and I truly hope you’ve come to an agreement of some sort. Hugs!! Image

Mom20 – heyyyyy hun!! Lovely to see you here! Well no, you know what I mean! Ah! I read your post out to my dh the other day as it made me so cross about the nhs. They obviously don’t realise what it does to people!! Image I’m so sorry hun! You’re definitely in the right place here though! Big hugs! Image

Carolyn – hello my dear. Hope you’re having a good time in dubai (well, as good a time as you can as you’re working). Cant believe you’re so close to starting tmt! I’m so excited for you!! oh, i was meant to ask you the other day. do you have a myspace or something?

Geckogirl – good luck with your consultation today!! Let us know how you get on!

Aunty – think I will have to fight you over that “the worst cyber sista” award!! Hehe….;-) don’t be silly, you’re not the worst cyber sista! We all know how busy you must be with the house sale and saving, etc. your post did make me laugh though! Thank you for letting me know what you think about my last trigger. I’m sure you’re right. I definitely am more informed this time, which is definitely a good thing! How you doing with the saving?? (oh, and by the way, I’m loving all your new icons!)

Lara – hey hun, welcome back! Sorry you didn’t have a brilliant time and hope you and dh have made up now.

Beachbaby – have a lovely time away next week and happy bday for DH!!

Babyblue - Image hope that everything goes well with your donor and sorry to hear about your BFNs.

Well, hi to everyone else I have missed!! AF still hasn’t shown her ugly face. And I just want to book in with the clinic now! (stamps her feet and jumps up and down) and what I hate is that there’s always that niggling hope in your mind, what if it’s a miracle? Don’t get me wrong, I know that its more or less impossible but you always wonder, don’t you? Anyway, she’d better show up soon if its not a miracle!!

HELLOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I'm back. Soo nice catching up with all (umm....most) of whats been going on. I have missed you so much. Had extremely busy time at work and could not get on the net for some silly reason. Then had my laparoscopy done last week. Still recovering from it, but good news is that my internals seem fine and normal. Slight endometrosis, but nothing to prevent me from getting pregnant. So thats one good thing. I feel pretty sore and tired from the lap though. Anyone remember how long it took them to recover?

On the bright side, we have had all our tests done by now after an unbeleiveably long time. Hopefully there are no more surprises and at my next appointment, we hope to be referred to the fertility clinic. Also decided to make an appointment with HAmmersmith as private patients simultaneously. Good news after my lap is that we could attempt IUI, so hopefully its less harder on our pockets. Don't know the procedure though cause HAmmersmith says that we should send over copies of our reports, while our doc says to make an appointment and she will send over a summary of our history. Don't know who to beleive!

Sorry no time for personals. Am absolutely thrilled for Nimble and Jackie though.

Catch up with you all soon.

Hi Everyone,

We had our consult appt yesterday and things went pretty much like I expected. She said that we gave it our best shot this last cycle and that we should consider donor eggs or adoption. I think my DH was surprised because he thought she would let us try again with our own eggs but at 43 1/2 I know that the odds of getting preggers is pretty low. Anyway, we decided to do the donor route. I am very nervous about spending $25,000 but she said that all her donor recipients have become pregnant (she screens all the possible donors and will reject them and make us start over if she isn't confident they will produce lots of good eggs). She said the wait was about four months which works out well for us. She will try to schedule us for November and if they are full we will get a slot in January. In the meantime we need to start working with an agency to find a donor and we were given a liason who will help us every step of the way. I will talk to her today and get the ball rolling. I also have to have a hysteroscopy to make sure my uterus is in good shape. She said it is just a precaution because so far it has been fine. The kicker is that I have to lose 30 pounds before November! I guess it is back to the gym for me!

I am a little sad that I will never have children that are my genetic makeup but am excited about the possibility of becomming pregnant and being a mom. This is going to be our last chance and I know the statistics are much higher with donors so wish us luck!

Take care.

hey geckogirl - i am sorry to hear that you will never have children of your own make-up but take my hat off to you for being so excited about other possibilities and not looking back. i think its amazing that you can look beyond this and look forward and your enthusiasm and optimism is catching!! you must be very excited and i cant blame you - you'll still carry this lovely little one inside you and give birth to it. i wish you all the best in finally getting your BFP!!

Thanks Shantala for your support. It wasn't a hard decision to make and a child from donor eggs will feel like mine. I just want to be a mom. What worries me is the expense, expecially if it doesn't work. This decision is a HUGE leap of faith!

Afternoon Ladies :D

Angel: Great to see ur back - was kinda worried about u there. Bummer u couldnt get logged on - it would feel like my right arm had been cut off if i couldnt get on line - well done for lasting so long lol. Great news on ur Lap, at least u know the score now. Revovery time, when i had mine done (over 10 years ago) i think i felt better within the week, altho dont push urself - it all depends on how long u were 'out' for, that always knocks me out. Besides, i'd milk it and get DH to do loads for yer hehehe  I have a friend who has been ttc for about 2 years (she's 37) and has just had a lap and was told the same thing, she is now on clomid (again) and on the waiting list for IUI then IVF. Her hubby (to be) has already got 1 child, its just a case of 'unexplained' :x Anyway, im glad u got all ur appointments sorted, i bet ur excited about starting - woooo hoooo :D

Shantala: Well hello there wee pet :D To let u know, i made an appointment at the hosp with the 'smear people' (lol @ people, u know wot i mean) for June 27th - i couldnt get in any sooner. So im gonna go to my IVF appt on the 18th and explain my situation. My AF isnt due now untill 3/4th July so my smear appt will be before it, i will ask both DR's wot they think about the IVF, should i go for it, or get my smears sorted out first. I have a horrible feeling they are gonna say wait untill u get a clear smear (which is the right thing to do i know) but that means more waiting  If i miss July AF cos of it, then i deff want to go on my Aug AF, that means will start injections etc by Sept - thats long enough for them to sort me out :) Phew - palava init! The longer this goes on, the older im getting, dont want my eggs going down hill in the meantime!! An why are u off sick hun? Wots up - tell me all about it my wee pet  Will do the AF dance for u - bloody cow hasnt showed for u yet - will u be the same as me and ring ur clinic on day 1 (and FSH test on day 2/3) for them to sort out ur meds for 21 days start later? Ooooo how exciting to be starting again :D Lovely to read u again hun xxx

Geckogirl: Hiya hun, wow - donor eggs eh? Your right, it is a hard decision to make, but one that will help u become a mummy so who cares who's eggs u have - you will be the childs mother - the egg donor is just a donor - if someone donates a liver - that person doesnt say to the receiver - hey - no alcohol tonight please, its my liver - donate is when u give away - u will give birth to the child, u will be the one who feels its first kick inside you etc, the list goes on and on - if i was young enough and healthy enough i know i would donate, just to give ladies like u a chance to hold their own child in their arms - i think the women who donate are not only wonderful, but brave and selfless. They are giving u a gift that no one can replace - the gift of life. Im so pleased u have chosen that route hun, soon u will be holding your baby and thats all that counts :D go for it hun - u deserve it :D

As for me ladies, im stuck at work, it must be in the 20's - im boiling, i have the windows open and the fan going - i just wanna go home, my head is splitting - im sure its cos ive stopped all caffeine, either that or the weather ..... Well thats it for me for now ladies, hope ur all having a great day - Jen is in Barcelona now - i hope it all goes well for her :D

 OMG OMG

We are here in Big B and the internet in the hotel is free so i can update you all yyyeeehhhhhhh

Weather is hot and sticky, hotel is great and only 10 mins from the clinic. We didnt bother with a taxi and got the train and metro to the hotel, its easy. Then got changed and walked to the clinic, we just stood outside and stared for ages, cant quite believe we are here at last after just looking at photos on the net.
Away to go out for a meal then chill as our feet are aching after walking around for ages. We visited Camp Nou, its massive, a great thing to see.
Gill, after this email i know you will be getting even more excited. Will give you all the info on my return.

Ok am away to get changed again, its so sticky 8) . Will catch up after my appointment tomorrow.

Am so excited i can keep you all updated.

Welshgirl, thanks for the status reports (lists). They are very helpful.

Jen, sounds like you are so excited. Have a great time and enjoy! Worked out really good that you are so close to the clinic.

Becky, yeah! you are off to a start - even if they did mess your smears up.

Rachel, what is a water board? Sorry it has messed up your garden.

Shantala, I love your smilies!!!
