Stephjim- OMIGOSH!!! yes my husband totally flipped!!!!! I think he was hurt as well. I mean really pissed. I also brought it up the first day we found out that we would not have a "Bio" child together. So I blame his reaction on me. I didnt give him or even myself for that matter, time to grieve our loss. But, after a year of thinking we could be childless, he came to me. I knew I couldnt be childless, but I was not going to leave him because of it. I married him for him not to have babies. Am I making sense? I was just praying he would come around. My sister and bestfriend thought he was being selfish, but that is a big thing for a man. OF course he went through the whole, Leave me, find someone that can give you children blah blah blah... so stressful !!! We argued, cried, and then delt. He is so excited about June and starting our treatment. He knows this baby will be every bit his. He doesnt want to go when I get inseminated, which is fine. I think it is better anyway. Mind over matter kind of thing, ya know. I would be totally fine if I had to use donor eggs. If that meant a baby, bring it. So I think he finally reached that mentality. We are not telling anyone what we are doing. We are not going to tell the child. (at this time anyway) One thing I did to help my DH with his decision is I bought a book called Building a Family with DI. Such a good book for a family thinking about going this route. If you have any questions, just ask!!

nu-uh this is Wales...Image

I think I mentioned this one time. When I was visiting England, we were driving along and across the way was Wales. So I took a pic from the car....you see water then land on the other side all in a blur. So showing vacay pics I tell my friends..."there is Wales" and they say "I don't see any Whales, I just see a river and some land". I tell em to look reeeeeeallly closeImage

Hi everyone,

Mia, great news. Good for you!

Stephjim & Miracle, I have had the conversation with my Dh about using Donor sperm/eggs. Started thinking about it as an option for the future if needed. At first he was like NO WAY!! Until he saw how open I was about it. Also, after trying IVF for a while, he is much more invested in the whole starting a family thing. We made a decision to try using our own "stuff" for a while longer and if the time comes for using donors, we will do it. It takes a little time to wrap the mind around it, but it is an awesome option for those of us that want to have a baby. Miracle, I did not read up on it as you did, but I read some stuff on the donor egg thread that helped me to open my mind about using donors.

Jen, I am thinking of you. It is too early to feel things, so one day at a time. Let's remember, we are "kicking IVF ass this year!" Let's get the PMA in tact. With each upset, we have to pick ourselves back up and stay in the fight. I am here to help you back up. You just had a great transfer and you are back home. Now rest and keep thinking positively. Sorry, did I sound like Mia the drill sargent??? Just want to be strong for you. Don't worry about the what-if's right now. Worrying is not going to change things. Take a deep breath and know that we love you and we are here for you. things are going to work out.

Angel, you sound good. thanks for DH advice. Yes, it is best that they don't do the freaking out. I think your "calm" approach will benefit you. Af will arrive, your body needs the recooperate.

Steph, since when did you need work frustration to be a smart ass?

Ok, went to Re again, more blood & sonos. Still looking questionable about IUI or IVF. My Re is very nice and I asked him honestly "WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?" He took a moment, thought it over and told me that if the little ones don't grow enough by tomorrw and the biggest one is getting too big by tomorrow, then he thinks IUI this round. If the big one holds off and the little ones catch up, then IVF. He says that we will know tomorrow. I trust him and he's known me for a long time know and I feel that he has my best interest in mind. (We discussed about insurance only covering so much and I think he wants me to hold out for more follies next cycle) So If it is IUI, I'm ok with it. After all, I did get pregnant with IUI last year. And if IUI doesn't work this time around, we will try again for IVF next cycle. I am letting go. I can not control this.

My love to all of you brave and wonderful friends out there. Hello to all I missed this time around. More later.

Pequele- I am on that website you recommended (SD) and they have listed Donor Category. What is this and what is the difference? Sorry if it is a dumb question.

Chriss- It is nice to see other people open about these kind of things. When it get brought up around "fertile" people they say negative and hurtful things. One of my friends had to do the same thing and she made the mistake of telling a certain person and she was talking to me and brought it up. She told me my friend wanted a baby for the wrong reasons and awful it was that she and her DH were going to do it. She has no idea that my DH and I have to go the route as well. So it was very hurtful to me as well as my friend. I just told her, Well you know you have 2 kids, you will NEVER know how it feels and you will NEVER know what you might do if you were in the position. Sometimes people are just cruel.

not at all...
there are the 2 that are ID...those are the ones you can get info on when the kid is 18 (I believe). Then there are the value ones...those, if you look at the actual donors look like they have been in the program for awhile...so they are a bit cheaper...or no one likes em I dunno. I didn't pick anything specific in that section, I just narrowed down on traits I liked then what ever category there the donor fell into well then that was that. The category helps determin the price, THAT I know

Thank you so much Pequele!!! One more question, if you pick an open donor, do they have the right to contact the child once the child is 18? Because as of right now, we do not plan on telling our baby. Are you going to tell yours?

Hey all you IUI girls, how long after trigger shot is IUI performed? What about if you do Double inseminations???? In the past when I did IUI I didn't use HCG shot, just the pee sticks. This time I will need HCG shot due to stimms, etc.
Thanks, -chriss

Hello all!!! Got back from eating with DH. I went and had a pedicure also. I thought it would relax me. It did at the time, but ..... Why is it I see 20 gazillion pregnant women when I go out. Huh?

Anyways that is great news Mia. Can't wait to hear about your BFP in a couple of weeks.

You should ovulate between 36 to 42 hours after the trigger but iui is done before that to allow the sperm to swim up and be waiting for the egg.
My clinic weren't too bothered about the exact timing. They usually gave me the trigger sometime in the morning and had me come back anytime the following day for iui. I prefered to get an afternoon appt for iui so that it was over 24 hours since trigger but they said it didn't matter.
