My doc did the trigger in the office this last time and then did the insemination an hour later. My follies were big and he was worried about losing them.

I am getting ready to leave to go meet up with a friend of DH that he went to high school with in England. I am crampy and crabby and emotional. They better be good cramps.

Su & Stephjim, thanks for responding about the iui timing. I looked on-line and saw all different things. I'll see what my Re says tomorrow.
Stephjim, have fun tonight and I hope they are the good kind of cramps too!

hi Miracle, it sucks that people can not be more understanding about all of this. I guess if they have not been through it or don't have a close friend/relative going through it, they just can't imagine the whole thing. I've often wondered who I would tell if we did use donors, just because of other people's lack of understanding. Well hun, you know that we here are 100% behind you. And we get it.

Hi Chriss! That is really nice of you, thank you!! That is exactly why DH and I are not telling anyone. I dont want our baby growing being known as a SD baby. Kids are cruel. No, if they havent been through it or someone close to them they do not have a clue. Another time, I was at a friends kids b day party, and the tv was on and it was a story of a PG woman from IVF. She was PG with twins. THis lady who was 7 months PG with her own son started degrading this woman because she used "fertility meds" and that is why she has twins...I just do not get it. Before my IF problems were known to me, I never once looked down at woman for doing IVF, IUI or a donor of any kind!!

Oh good Mia! I am glad no stress for you!! Are you getting excited about the transfer??

Miracle08 wrote:Thank you so much Pequele!!! One more question, if you pick an open donor, do they have the right to contact the child once the child is 18? Because as of right now, we do not plan on telling our baby. Are you going to tell yours?

Sorry I was off at hell :)
no I think it is only on the child contacting the donor....and then there is still NO guaruntee he will respond!!!

I went without an open donor because I was more concerned about traits than whether my child may have interest in 18 years. I will tell her  that I used a donor but it is probably a lot easier for me to do that then for you...I'm single so there will be a big blank spot on the birth cert ahaha.

Everybody has a different opinion on it. Some banks have a program that allows you to do a matching type thing (for a fee of course)....taking characteristics of your hubby and matching it with the donor. That is nice since you want your child to blend well into your family...not sure if that lab does that, but they may.

Hope that helps!!!

OMG it was a quiet day in hell...LOVELY! Finally got a chance to catch up on crap that doesn't get done on a normal basis thanks to being so short staffed!!! But the ice storm kept people HOME actually...DANG! It is horrible out! It was coming down and HURT so bad...it was stinging my face trying to clean my car off!! You should hear the icy snow falling off my metal roof and hitting the ground! WWWOOOOOMMMP! Sounds like someone throwing baseballs against my house! Luckily it is supposed to stop soon...and tomorrow SUN! go figure!

chriss wrote:Hey all you IUI girls, how long after trigger shot is IUI performed? What about if you do Double inseminations???? In the past when I did IUI I didn't use HCG shot, just the pee sticks. This time I will need HCG shot due to stimms, etc.
Thanks, -chriss
I was told 36 hrs...but I only do 1 IUI...no idea about 2 but I'd ASSume is would be the same or maybe you'd do 24 hrs then another 24???
