Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone had a nice Easter. It was COLD in TX this weekend, but I think the nation had record chills all over.

Well ladies I met my new doc. :-) I like him because he is very through and very hands on and proactive it appears. BUT he is also very pro C-Section and induction to schedule delivery. This bothers me. He has good points like with my age during normal hours a cardiaic specialist is readily available. If anything was to happen he wants to be at his best, not operating at partial capacity because he has worked all day and only had two hours sleep or something. He says just due to my age it makes me at risk during delivery. At least he is honest. I really do not want a c-section UNLESS the baby or myself is at risk. I am okay with the induction but after being induced with my daughter I know this means a rough labor. But I know with how I feel now I DO NOT WANT TO BE LATE. :-) So induction at 38 or 39 weeks almost sounds appealing. I am going back today for an US and to register at the hospital for admission. :-)

I will do personals later. I just wanted some thoughts on my delima about a pro C-Section and Induction doc.

Take care everyone,
Cowgirl

Good Morning Girls!

I am sorry for disappearing, but I took Friday off and the family and I were very busy. Friday we went and bought a bunch of plants including a 30-gal Red Oak Tree and did loads of planting. Saturday it got really rainy and cold so we went out and bought a bunch of stuff to re-decorate my oldest DS's room. Now that he is approaching the teen years, we decided he needed a more mature room. He fought us all the way through the store, telling us he thinks we should wait and think about it for a while. I refused and proceeded to design the room. Saturday we emptied the room, clean the floors and prepped the walls. Sunday we painted. After the first wall was done, DS decided he really liked it and is ready to help us out. The painting is finished for the walls, but I have the bed frame and the dresser to work on still. DH is going to work on hanging the metal piping that will hold the curtains around DS's bed and sitting room today. I have to finish sewing the curtains (the are a dark grey tweed fabric) so we can hang them up. The walls are painted in a lighter grey than the curtians and there are two small sections that were painted with chalkboard paint so he can write or draw on the walls. In his sitting room, I am making a black bean bag chair for him to sit on and I hung a white paper lantern for lighting. His dresser, desk and bed frame will all be painted white to standout against the grey. It looks really cool already and I think we might finish it before Friday if we keep at it.

Other than that, our heater died on Saturday so we are all sleeping in my bedroom with our one space heater. The company that does the repairs on our unit will not be able to come out until next week (by then we are suposed to be in the 80's) so we are sticking with this arrangement until the weather is a little warmer. I have my OB appointment Thursday and I think my OB will be happy. I have gain 4 lbs in the last 1 1/2 weeks on her diet.

Kim - I love the room. It is beautiful and perfect for a little one or two! I hope you had an enjoyable Easter.

CasyP - Good luck tomorrow! I hope everything turns out okay.

Tasha - I am glad you made progress on the little one's room. I love hearing everyone's ideas. I am the kind of person who could sit and watch trading spaces all day long because I love the wealth of ideas that come up.

Wendy - I am thrilled you little issue checked out. We all still need to keep these little ones inside a little longer. Great news on the scan. Did you find out which one you are having?

Nictor - My dear friend! I know exactly what you went through! I had that issue with my second son because of the bed rest and the clotting disorder (although that was unknown at that time). I am so relieved to hear it was not DVT. This time around my OB has done everything she can to keep me off of the bedrest because of the possibility of DVT so I am really happy about that. Keep your self rested!

Ellie - I am glad you are doing well.

Cowgirlclass - I hope you are staying warmer than we are. It was a real shock to see such cold weather in April here. I guess it is just one of those freaky years!

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Happy Monday Girls.... I wish it would warm up already. We're in the 30's again..... Well I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend!

CasyP- good luck at your appointment tomorrow... keep us posted when you can.

Wendy- glad to hear that your bleeding was nothing at all... Just remember to take it easy and relax from time to time.

Cowgirl- glad to hear you like your new doctor... that makes things a bit easier I bet. However, sorry to hear that he is all for induction & c-section. But like a few others have said... it's better to be safe than sorry.

Racheal- Wow your DS's room sounds really cool..... can you post some pictures when your all done? Also sorry to hear about your heater... hopefully it will warm up fast for you guys. Also great news about gaining 4 pounds.. your OB is going to be so happy.

As for us we're doing good... I just scheduled our furniture delivery for this Friday and the border will be done then too... so by this weekend I'll have some pictures to post for you girls. We have class again tonight... only 2 more to go. We're learning about changing diapers, feeding, etc. All stuff I know how to do already, but it should still be fun!

Well I hope everyone is doing well and taking care of their bellies....

Tasha

hi girls/... so many posts to catch up with... we were busy this weekend... running here and there...

tasha- wow.. the rooms almost done and you are almost done with classes, then you'll be completely ready for the aubrey... right...

nicola- good to hear that all is well.. and no DVT... it's scary... i freek out about those too, i have a ton of leg cramps and charley horses.... it's scary!!!!

rachael- sounds like you are not taking it easy again... we are going to do our DS's room this weekend.... he really wanted some odd colors, but he's ok with different blues, as blue is his favorite color... make sure that you are not doing too much... good on the diet... .were they trying to get you to gain weight?? i forgot.. i'm only up 2 lbs (although DH says i look the biggest ever) , and they are not concerned... well with my other pregnancies i gained little of nothing, i guess that's why they are not concerned... sorry about the heat... just think, at least you're not up here in Chicago.... hopfully you'll get it fixed soon

cowgirl- as for the c and the induction... i've had inductions with my other 2 DSs and will have one with this one... i know that they are harder, but if it''s best.. in your case, i hope that you body deceides that 38 weeks is good enough, as induction when your body is not ready is VERY hard... we have to register Friday and do all of that paper work...

kim- the room is so nice... you too are just about ready for the little ones..

caseyp- wish you luck tomorrow... hope that all goes well....

ellie- hope you had a good easter and are doing well....

wendy-so glad the bleeding stopped and all is well.... take it easy!!!

as for us... we are ok.. looking forward to wednesday, and seeing the little "guy" again... after that, on Friday we are going to figure out, with the doc, how long we are going to let the baby cook... try and see if we can figure out at what point the baby will be better out then in, taking everything into consideration.... so maybe after friday i'll have a better idea of when to expect the little guy to arive.... right now we are sure that it's not going to be more then 6 or 7 weeks from today... so close!!!!!!

well hope that we are all taking care!!! stay round!!!

Hi gals...not much time tonight...I just got back from a hospital tour. It got me really excited for the impending arrival! (Not too excited though....we need more time!)

Cowgirl--Sorry about the induction and c-section, but like the other gals said....your doc has good reason to be safe.

Racheal--Are you taking it easy, my dear? Be careful...you're sounding really really busy!

I'm glad the rest of you are sounding good. Good luck tomorrow CaseyP!

Kisses to your bellies,
Kim

Hi guys,

Glad to read you all had good weekends and are doing well.

Just a quick update from me as I'm trying to rest. Had my colposcopy today and thankfully consultant says all looks the same as it did in November, therefore they are happy to leave treatment well alone until after delivery and will see me 3 months after baby is born. I'm so relieved, silly me was imagining all sorts!

Take care.

CasyP- I am so happy your tests came back well! That would be a huge relief! Now you just get to sit back and relax. :-)

I think I have adjusted to the idea of being induced, that means I will not be late and may even be a bit closer. I had an US on monday and it measured the baby at 32 weeks and 4lbs :-) My doctor's appt is a week from friday. I may try to get an estimate of when he would enduce me. :-) Maybe Naomi will be a very cooperative baby and decide she wants to join us at 37w 6d :-) A girl can dream right? :-) Right now with as large as I feel and this sciata pain I can not imagine being late.

Take care everyone,
Cowgirl

Hello Girls-

CasyP- I'm so glad to hear that your test came back good.... you must be so happy. Now you can concentrate on your little one and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Cowgirl- well wouldn't it be nice if Naomi came early.... but not to early. I'll say a little pray for you that it all works out in your favor sweetie.

As for us we're doing good... just trucking along. We learned about C-Section's last night at class.... and got to see the labor & delivery room. I think I'm opting for a vaginal birth now after seeing the movie on c-sections..... but we'll see what happens. Next week we'll be doing baby basics like changing a diaper, feeding, burping, etc. It should be fun.... plus it will be our last class. Everything is starting to come together now and I'm getting nervous.... please tell me this is normal!

Well I hope all of you girls are doing well!

CaseyP--Yeah! I'm so glad your results came back okay! Take it easy...

Tasha--We just did a hospital tour last night too...it got me excited and nervous. I bet most of us will be pretty nervous once we get to your point. I hope your goal for a vaginal delivery works out for you. I'd prefer vaginal too, but with twins--it all depends on Baby A and how s/he is lying. So, I'm not getting my heart set on any "one" birthing plan. I'm just going to be prepared to go with the flow...

Cowgirl--I'm sorry to hear your sciatica is acting up again. I hope it will start to relieve soon. My massage therapist actually rubbed the heck out of the center of my buttocks--I guess I had some really tight muscles there (who knows how...) and they were aggravating the nerve. Maybe you're suffering from having a tight a@@ too? Glad to hear you're feeling better about the inducement. Hope Naomi is good at following mom's directions! Keep telling her your plan! :)

As for me, I'm soooo tired from work. I have an OB appt. on Thursday. I'm secretly hoping that he'll start cutting back my work schedule...maybe to half days or 3 days/week? I also have my first glucose test...any advice?

I've also been meeting with pediatricians this week. I found a good one last night, so that's a relief to have one less thing to think about! Here in Ohio you have to have a doctor designated before they'll let you leave the hospital.

Have a good night gals! Kisses to your bellies!

Kim- good luck at your OB appointment this Thursday... keep us posted as usual. For your sake I hope he cuts back your hours as well. Also good luck w/ the glucose test. As you know I failed my first test, but passed the second one... to prepare for the second test I cut back on my sugar intake big time... and ate more protein. Not sure if that did the trick or not... good luck sweetie!

Ok I'm off to finish doing laundry and watching American IDOL & The Pussycat Dolls show.... chat w/ you girls tomorrow.

Good Wednesday Morning!

I see everyone has been busy. So have we. I had Boys Scouts on Monday, Cub Scouts on Tuesday and tonight I am working to finish DS's room because I am teaching a class on Thursday night. Since I am so busy, I have decided to take Thursday and Friday off from work and enjoy some time with DH. DH is still looking for work, but he is getting discouraged already. He is worried he will still be out of work by time Makayla arrives. Even if he is, we are okay, but he does like not working. He says he feels useless. Oh well, hopefully he will hear something soon.

Tasha - I hope you enjoyed your shows. I am not a big TV watcher, so we do not see most of the prime time shows.

Kim - I hope you are lucky enough to be able to have a vaginal, but you are right. Whatever is best for the babes is what we should do. As for the glucose test, either you have it or you don't there really is no way to cheat it.

Cowgirl - A am glad to hear your little one is still ahead! As for an induction, I prefer not to after having been induced with my first one. When I went into labor naturally with Christian, I was in less pain than I was for the induced one. I also dialated faster! In the two hours after my water broke, I went from 3 cm to 10. I waas fully dialated when they wheeled me into the operating room. I was so mad about not being given the chance to do a VBAC since I was so close already. This time, they are taking Makayla early because they said it is not safe for me to go into labor. I lughed because they have it tentatively set for June 13 (38 weeks), but my last son was born at 37 weeks. Of course on the other side, my oldest was born at 42 weeks! I hope Naomi will co-operate and make Mommy happy!

CasyP - I am thrilled to hear your news! Now you will be able to enjoy your little miracle.

Colleen - Enjoy the picture show today! I really do not know how you and Kim keep from finding out. I know I am relieved to know what Makayla is because I have been able to take the time to adjust to the idea we are now having a girl. We had really never considered what sex our little one was because we assumed she would be a he since we already had two boys. I know, flawed thinking, but we really did think it would be a boy (DH still holds out hope). Good luck and I hope the u/s has good news for you and DH.

Nicola - I hope you are doing well and working too hard yourself. Have you found out what you are having or are you waiting for the big surprise?

Everyone else, I hope you are staying warm and round!

Rachel I hear what you are saying about induction, it sucks! I was not induced with my first and it was not bad at all, lasted longer (4:45 )but not the same degree of pain. With my second I was induced and the pain was constant, there were no valleys or rest periods really between contraction, but it went faster for me (2 hrs). What I was saying is I wouldn't have the agony of waiting and wondering when I would go into labor. With my daughter they told me from my fifth month I would be early then when my due date hit, everyday seemed like an eternity. I was two weeks late before they induced.

On a better note. Hubby and I are set up for the refresher childbirth class on May 1st which is our anniversery as my hubby pointed out. I can't believe when I set it up I actually forgot it was our anniversery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it was the next class and the next one wasn't untill like the 5th of June which could be too late. They cover breathing and a few other labor items then we do a tour of labor and delivery. It takes 4 hours. I think it will be enough. :-)

Tasha and Kim yes I think everyone that cares gets nervous! :-) Hey Tasha did they adjust your due dates after the early us or did they just leave it based on the IVF procudure?

Take care everyone,
Cowgirl
