Well ladies, it's been a heck of a weekend!!!

I had a baby shower to go to, this baby shower was for one of my clients that got married last year, and she had IVF, but she kept it quiet, now she's pregnant with twins, and kept saying Melissa your next, it's you next... blah, blah, blah... well one of the girls said, you know when you relax it'll happen, it won't happen for you until aren't thinking about it... gosh, why do people do that! AGGGRRR!!!! Oh well... so it got under my skin abit...

But I had a lovely Sunday with DH, we went out for a very nice brunch, it was a great buffett, and I am still stuffed! Dh is now talking about dinner, but honestly, I can't even think aobut food! We had Eggs Benedict, Made to order omelets, prime rib, fruits, pastry, bagels, salmon, capers, crepes, french toast, baked ziti, veggie lasagne, tiramsu, cheese cake, buscuits, jam, etc... it was so yummy!!! Then I wen to the baby shower and had Mimosa's and cake.... gosh, what a diet day! :D

You all are pretty busy on the weekends, keeping me on my toes!

Let's see if I can keep everyone's name's straight this time!

Gill- I am sorry the weather was cruddy! It stinks when you miss the good weather, for cleaning! Darn it! I hope your large class of wine was delish!

Lara- I hope DH's husband is better! I had it rough first thing this AM, but that's because I didn't go #2 yesterday, so I think it was making up for itself.

Shantala- Welcome sweetie! I am glad you are here! Best of luck with your new job!!

Welshgirl- Sorry about your posting woe's that stinks! But it happened to me the other day... So when I go to Ireland next year (March 15th is what we are thinkng...) maybe you can help me plan it?? Like where in the world to stay... If it's not too much trouble?? I wonder what is up with your AF? I wish I could help you in that department, my is as regular as the atomic clock!

Jen - Glad you are here! Nice to meet you! I am sorry for all the BFN's that really sucks the big one! I hope Barcelona is where your baby dust comes from!

Charlie - I got up yesterday (Saturday) at 6AM to put a roast in the oven, then I stayed up and cleaned until DH's very elderly grandpa came to visit -it was a tough day! :( But yes, I felt totally crazy!

I know I missed personals, i am sorry!

I am exhausted and I think I am going to take a hot bath!

Love to you all!!!

XXOO!

Mel

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Been having trouble logging on to this site. The warm welcome you have given me already makes me feel like part of another family.

CarolynB - I'm so new to this forum, I couldn't manage to PM you. Am very much interested in your suggestion as I actually do have company insurance. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wasn't it just a glorious weekend??

Melissa, you missed me on your list!!!! Never mind, I am the last one to complain cause I can't seem to do that well myself!

Don't worry, we all know what you mean about people's comments getting on your nerves. Its easy to say ignore them but you can't really. I deal with it by swiftly changing the subject when other people start on me. The worst one is when people keep on saying that stress will reduce your chances...etc. That stresses you out and then you think that the stress will affect your chances and you get even more stressed!!!! I have already spoken to DH that when we start our round of IVF I am taking a holiday from the social scene.

Hello all again,

Welshgirl.....keep up with your diet. I'm trying too and coping well most days. Then ....BOOM!!!! something happens and I feel so low that I just don't care and binge. :x

So, anyway I called the hospital and was told by a very rude person that my lap should be scheduled for end of June. I suppose after having waited for 4 months, another 2 months shouldn't be a big deal.

In the meantime we are so confused about what to do. The last consultant said that it was important for me to go for a lap (even though its not likely to matter if we go for IVF) if we want to get referred to the fertility clinic. So do we go to the GP and ask for a report so that we can go private? Or do we wait until we are reffered to a fertility clinic? :? :?
I mean, surely if a lap doesn't matter for IVF, can we not just schedule an initial consultation at the private clinic? Planning to go to Hammersmith at the moment. Or would we be told to go back after the lap?

Why is it so confusing???? If someone knows and can guide me on what actions I should take, please help!

blimey girls - I have a weekend off and you lot go mad !

Do you know, its so nice to come 'home' to this thread there so many friends on here from before - its so .... familiar and it gives me a nice warm feeling inside

shantala honey - see you're two timing too on this thread :D How was your first day - was it nice to go back to work, although you couldn't have timed it at a worse time, the weather is gorgeous and you have to go back to work - yuk!!

Jen - how could you but you are duley forgiven for remembering me in a seperate thread.....  really sorry to hear about your BFN - I truely admire you for your strength to keep trying - I really hope Barcelona works out.

For those who have been looking abroad, I came across this website, it gives info on clinics aboard and contacts and links to those clinics too - they had some in spain http://www.treatmentabroad.net/

Becky - any sign of AF yet perhaps the Ann Summers party scared her off  they always say its the quiet ones that surprise you the most !! How was work ?

Carolyn - wow sounds like you had super shopping day saturday. I was on this website the other day (recommended by Glamour) and they had this dress, £12 from primark so off I went yesterday but alas no where to be seen :(

Jill - hello we've not met before I don't think - another welshie eh !! My DH is from wales - from Merthyr Tydfil - so have a vested interested!!

Mel that was some brunch - god it made me feel hungry whilst reading the post and I'm another one watching what they eat!!

I've developed one of those sacastic scares that I just give when people make the stupidist remarks - got it down to a tee now, had so much practice :)

Angel - hi there !! Sorry you have a hard time with the hospital - I'm not sure how others got referred, but fortunately the hospital I went to for tests had the same consultant as the clinic so I was able to self refer - if he hadn't had been, I think it would have been down to the GP, but then saying that, if you're going private I'm not sure why you just can't approach the clinics yourself - give hammersmith a call and see what they say.

Rachel - hi hun, hows hubby, is he feeling much better - I suspect he just wanted a day in the sun

I went for my first outside run tonight - I can't diet, absolutely crap at it, I can eat salads all week long and nadder, not a lb goes so I have to exercise like a mad women! So Saturday, I went to the gym and managed to do my first long run and then went for it again tonight - however I think I shall suffer for the next week, my hips, thighs, calves, knees all hurt and apparently I'm still glowing like a beacon !!

off to put those feet up

Thanks for the re assurance Nimble. As we have had all the tests done on NHS, I read on the Hammersmith website that you need you GP to prepare a report of what has been done and what the diagnosis is. So we're wondering whether to go now or after the lap (which is end of June) so that all the tests will be complete by then.

I just joined this forum last Friday but I already feel I know so many of the people.

One more question......if we go private does that affect our chances on NHS in future? What I mean is will they still keep us on the waiting list for IVF? And how many chances do you get on NHS? Ok, more than one question...........I'll stop now!

Wow lots going on girlies.

Mel - No personal for me. How could you!!!! (Ha Ha). I know excatly what you mean about those sort of comments. I left mega stressful job. Went back to a leaving party for someone that I knew really well and somebody walks up to me in front of loads of blokes and said at the top of her voice. Cannot believe that you are not up the duff. Was sure that it would happen as soon as you were less stressed. ARGGHHH. Had it not been my mates retirement party - I would have punched this ladies lights out. Like if it was just that easy for us. You were brave and strong to go to the shower

Shantala - hope that day 1 of new job went well - sure that they will love you straight away 8)

Gill - cool - I have a bud to talk about Joseph and Grease about. Must say I was pretty certain that those would be the bottom 2 on Joseph this week and that Chris would go. Too skinny! I love all c*** tv so we are going to have plenty to talk about. I know what you mean. I am going to use our holiday for tmt but keep telling people that we may go to Spain for a long weekend later in the year

Charlie - we got you converted. Joseph this week. Grease next week.  Must say that I have watched way too many of these prorgrammes as thought those two would be at the bottom. Totally agree with you that Lee is such an arrogant so and so. If he carries on that way then he will not get the votes

Jen1d - glad that you listened to me & came to join this thread 8) Not sure that I wish to be refered to as your old mucker  Thought that this was a great thread to be on whilst we wait

Angel - glad that you sussed out the PM. I have responded around lap. Hope that it helps you with your insurance. I would go to your gp and get a referal to Hammersmith. You can wait for the lap and get the referal running in parallel to save time. I just went to my gp and told her how long we had been trying and just said that we wanted to get on with it. She suggested Hammersmith for me as 20 mins drive and a good clinic. She wrote a referral letter for me which I collected. I then faxed it to Hammersmith and made an appointment privately. From going to the gp to getting a private appointment was about 6 weeks. I had my lap done at Hammersmith. But I saw 1 consultant there who did not recommend so I had it done after cycle 1 but before cycle 2. They may recommend but they may not. They will also want loads of other tests done so the sooner that you go to the gp then the better I would have said. You know that you can PM me about anything including Hammersmith as they are my specialist subject

Becky - glad that you like my posts  Trying to compete with you (HA HA) The weight loss is boring for all of us. May be we should have a list with how much we have each lost - do you think that would help motivate each other. Whoever lost the most goes at the top of the list? What do you think???

Jackie - shame that you could not find the dress in Primark. Seems they turn the stuff so often as it is so very busy. I need to take back 1 top which is too small so will be going there again next weekend  You sound so active. Make me

Marsxp - all threads are different. I thought that I'd always be April-May 05 but it got too tough when everyone was pregnant apart from me and one other lady. All the talk was of babies and scans and we no longer fitted. Then Dec-Jan became too painful for me over Xmas when I had already failed again and everyone else was still active so I had to step away. You do tend to see people who you know on new threads especially if you are here for sometime and people with similiar interests/backgrounds tend to stalk each other too! Just join in and kind of go with a thread and you'll soon feel like you have been with the ladies for ages

Rachel - Hope that your dh is starting to feel a little better and he has not made you unwell. Glad that you have been watching Grease. It will get better when we get to the voting stage I am sure. Not as good as XFactor though. I agree with you. 4.30am for work. Can i ask what you do? I need to wait for AF before I can start more tests at argc and she is not behaving

Sorry if I missed anyone. Big hugs.

So AF is teasing me. Almost here but not enough for me to call D1. Need to wait for D1 and have bloods done at argc. Plus D2 need some tests run which are being done at the hospital to save a bit of £. So really desperate for her to arrive so I can at least start doing something. She has showed this day after both of my other fails but I have had less acu this time so may be that is the reason. ARRGGGHHH. Can you believe how much I want to have AF and a couple of blood tests. This stuff makes us insane!!!!

Off to bed as knackered. One day closer to the weekend.

Love to you all.
Carolyn

Okay so TMI alert coming... totally unrelated to IVF...

I have had this insatiable ichty bottom if you know what I mean, but it also burns and is stingy, like all the time! So I thought well maybe it’s hemroids.. so I put some of that oTC cream on it… nothing, then I thought maybe it’ll go away… but nooooooo… it’s been this way for a month now! I am a sissy and I don’t want to go to the dr for something silly. SO I called the Dr. on Friday and they called me back, but I didn’t get the message until after they closed their office…. So they called back today to find out what’s up, and I explained my symptoms and the appointment girl said “Well we need to get you in right away! Your dr’s first appointment is May 9th, but can you come in on Wednesday”… Uh oh! That makes me nervous! All I can think about is my cervical cancer moved to by butt! I know that's probably not it... it's probably something ridiculous... but anyway... that would figure right, Coochie cancer... now, Cancer of the pooper! We shall see!

Angel - I am sorry I didn't include you, I said I knew I didn't remember everyone, and there you were right in front of my face! I am sorry!!! WELCOME! and HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!!! Your hospital is being a bugger huh! I am sorry, that really stinks! I can't help you with your questions, but I am sure Nimble or someone around here can!

Nimble - I know we all went crazy this weekend, all to give you a good amount of reading to do on a Monday! :) I can't run - I try as I might, I get about 1/2 mile into my run and I am death... so I speed walk about 2 miles do lunges up and down driveway.

Carolyn - I hope your AF gets here very soon!!! My is always so timely, I could set the atomic clock to it!! Every 28 days... darn her!!! I'll keep your AF in my prayers to come faster than the speed of light!

Gill- I think that I am going to quit the family thing too, they drive me crazy! I mean seriously, how many times do you have to ask! I finally sent an email to my mother and explained the whole IVF process to her in detail and said if you think of a question please refer to this email, send it to everyone in the family, and if they have questions they can refer to the email - it was very funny, but I was SOOOOO serious!

Mars- WELCOME!!!! Good luck to you!!!

Lara- I hope DH is doing well! I know the crud is going around, poor thing!

Shantala - I hope the job went well! I've been praying for you!!!

Welshgirl - Thanks for the offer of helping, I will DEFINATELY take you up on the offer!!! I am so excited!!! And ya know, people just don't get it! I am just so angry at people and their non-chalant attitute towards baby-making... I was so fed up at the shower in a very nice way I said "It looks like we are going tohave to do IVF, so the sex is just for fun" the girl didnt' know what to say, so I just walked away. And don't worry about ranting... I love it!!

If I missed anyone this time, I am very very soorry!!!

PS- I ate 5 Tag-a-long Girls Scout Cookies today!!!! Darn those stupid cookies! Darn the stress, darn the whole thing!

PPS - My ebay fund is already at $170! Thanks for the idea!!

PPPS - I really dont' think I have cancer... but for about 1/2 of a 1/2 second it did cross my mind.

PPPPS - My email is Melissa@masterpieceweddings.net

ok I'm still here - sad I know but addicted !!!

Angel - I have done two private cycles and about to do my 3rd under NHS so I would say no, it doesn't effect you but each Trust Area seem to have different rules and criteria so always worth checking it out. The same applies for number of goes - some on here I see get 2 free goes, others, myself including just get 1 :(

Carolyn - if I wasn't active I be the size of a bus by now

boy, you must have some patience - I certainly would have decked that woman at that party - what is it with some people

Gill - yr post made me smile - the email sounded like a great idea - did it finally shut them up ??

Mel - ouch itchy pooper - hope they sort it out for you - can't have you scratching in public now can we :D

right I am def going to bed ....night
