J&C

Thanks for info on FET. did they indicate how much monitoring they do during each phase (estrogen, progesterone etc?) My RE ofc is an hour away, so it really wrecks my work schedule when I have to go.

Great news that you will be able to start in January! totsicles, I have never heard that term. I like it. Wow, you are going to transfer all 4 if they make thaw??? You are a brave soul. How many did you transfer for you dd?

arabscrool- - My FET that just got cancelled I only (would have had) to go in a total of 4 times. 1 for the b/w and u/s when we start, again the week before transfer to make sure lining is good, again for the transfer and then again for the pregnancy test. So hopefully that is what yours will be like too so you dont have to worry about work. It was much less stressful and most of the time I forgot I was even cycling. I would remember to take each pill and shot but it was "normal" you know? Who would think that getting up and giving yourself a shot is normal...HA

gi- You cant have my puppy b/c we decided to get it! I was nervous about it at first but my DH assured me he will take on all responsibilities so we will see. I told him either way Jan is IVF # 2 and this puppy wont stop it. I love dogs so I am surprised I even questioned it. But I am super excited now, we pick her up December 21st. (Red Doberman and I have a Goldendoodle now, so they will look funny walking down the street together :D )

J&C- Glad you jumping right back in. I sometimes think that is best. Is this your first FET?

Lou-Sorry about your BFN. I hope this next cycle works for you....for all of us!

Have a good day everyone....

Hey all!

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving! We're traveling for the holiday, so I might not get a chance to talk to you girls before then.

Penny2: I'm so jealous!!! DH and I have been talking about getting a dog forever, but the sad truth is we're LAZY!!!

J&C: Hmmmm...you're making me re-think what we "decided" for our FET. Our plan was to thaw one embryo (we have three frozen) and if it looked awesome to just transfer that one. If they thaw one and it looks so-so, we'll thaw another and then transfer 2 (this is if they all survive the thaw which I know is HUGE if). That was our plan because I'm terrified of twins. I was carrying twins after my 2nd IVF, but lost one at 10.5 weeks. I'm afraid my body can't handle more than one---but maybe I'm being irrational.

I'm so torn about this. I really don't want to jeopardize our chances by only transferring one, when we could possibly transfer more. Any advice, girls?

I was thinking we should have a schedule of everyone's appointments, procedures, 2WW, etc. My life will be out of control the next 2 weeks, but maybe I can try to pull something together in mid-December. What do you guys think? I must admit, I'm technologically impaired, so I'll probably have to cut and paste schedules that are posted on other threads.

Okay, I've gone on and on about nothing. Good grief. Have a nice holiday, everyone!

Hello girlies!!

Arabsrcool - I believe you're monitored 2 times for FET or possibly more, depending on how your body responds to the medicine. So definitely less than a fresh IVF cycle. For our first IVF cycle which resulted in our DD, we transferred 3 embies on Day 3. For cycle #2, we transferred 2 embies on day 5 (which seems to be the preferred day), with a BFN. Our RE always transfers one more embie on a FET than a "fresh" cycle, so we're definitely okay with 4.

Penny - Yes, this is our first FET. I feel like an old pro at the fresh IVF cycle now, so the FET seems weird. We're just hoping it works. :D Oh, I LOVE puppies!!! Congrats on your new family member. Our dog, Maggie, is just precious. I love her oodles.

rlk - You're definitely not being irrational. Some of these decisions are so hard, and sometimes there is no right or wrong on making a choice. I would go with whatever you are comfortable with.

Hello Ladies,

I would like to join this thread as well. I was canceled due to low response to stims so scheduled next year. I was wondering if any of you are thinking about doing acupuncture to increase chances?? Especially for those of us with poor responding ovaries or low sperm counts.. I'm researching someone now. Good luck ladies!!

Hi All,

How's everyone doing? I started Lupron on Wednesday 11/25. I almost forgot to start it! I remembered at 11:30PM right before going to bed. Today I took my last BCP, so I'm expecting AF in a day or so. Yay since tomorrow is my birthday. 37 is only "old" for my ovaries... haha. My baseline u/s and bloodwork is next Friday 12/4. I'm trying not to feel hopeless with only having one embie to thaw and transfer. I'm worried it won't survive the thaw or that I'll be cancelled for one reason or another. Anyone have a success story of a single embie FET? I could use a pick-me-up.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Just wanted to say hello to all doing a cycle in Jan/Feb. I am starting IVF #2 in Jan. We are also considering PGD. Doc is changing me to Lupron Down Regulation protocol, as well. Anyone else doing/did PGD? Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next couple of months! May God bless us all with BFP's!

Hi all!

A very warm welcome to karenthescorpio and mizzy247!

J&C: Thanks for your encouragement!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, lou71!!! Are you doing anything fun today to celebrate? I also have my baseline b/w and u/s on Friday. We must be having our FETs close to each other. I definitely HAVE seen success stories from women on this site who have only transferred one embryo for their FET. It sounds like you have a very good chance for success since the embryo you have stored is good quality!

Talk to you all soon!

Hello Girlies!!!

mizzy - Welcome to the board!! I've never personally done acupuncture, but there are tons of ladies on this board that do it and love it.

lou - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! My 37th birthday is tomorrow (Sunday), so we're the same, wonderful age. There were several people on the last 2 boards who only transferred 1 embie and are pregnant. I don't remember the screen names, but you can go back and read through the lists. PMA!!!

karenthescorpio - Hello!!! I remember you from the last board.

bethany - So sorry for the cancellation. I know that is utterly miserable, so hopefully no overstimulation for you this time.

We're just hanging out trying to find time to put up our Christmas tree. There is always so much to do. Everyone enjoy the weekend. :D

Count me in ladies :-) I joined one of these with my last ivf cycle in 08 and it was a godsend. We have a beautiful son from 2 ivf cycles. We just tried an FET and unfortunately my transfer was canceled because my lining wasnt thick enough. I never had a problem with my ivf cycles so we were really disappointed. I ended up doing 2 weeks of extra meds and my lining still didnt thicken. FET was suppposed to be so much easier than ivf but we ended up having just as many visits with all the lining checks and our transfer date kept moving as well just like the fresh cycles. So our big dilema is do we try another fet (25% chance) or do a fresh cycle with a 45% chance? Any thoughts? Either way ill be cycling with you guys!!
