Rubylee- congrats on the 2 girls! WOw, it is amazing you know the sex already! I want to know too! But I decided to patiently wait till my 20 week U/S. I am freaking out though, and hoping everytihng is fine in my belly. No other kicks since the first one :(

Angram- sorry about the bleeding. I had it too after sex so I am not in the mood for it anymore :( It started 48 hrs after the intercourse and it lasted about a week or so.

Dakota- sorry for not keeping you company lately. long weekend was nice! beach, parties, virgin daiquiris...too bad I am back at work and school. I feel really stressed out lately. I am overloaded at work and still training my helpers, plus school is already at full speed and I didnt even get all my books yet :? One of my co-workers is getting on my nerves. I try to get over her rudeness towards every living thing but it all starts all over again when she shows up in the morning. I am supposed to become her boss after I return from my maternity leave, and am already wondering if I would be able to manage her. She is a tough cookie. Anyway, I just needed to vent and am off to work again :(

Enjoy the hump day (or how I like to call it- humping day :) except no humping for me...)

Rubylee - Yep, I've been on bed rest (or home rest really) since Monday after the ER and things are slowly but surely getting better. My poor DH..sex life has already been questionable throughout the pregnancy and now this. I'm totally paranoid to have sex again, which really sucks. I had my first trimester screening and they took my age, ultrasound (which looked/measured great) and my bloodwork. I guess between my age (1 in 120 is the stat) and the bloodwork (which must have brought the numbers down) was the reason I was a positive. I'm 1 in 99, which is way below the 1 in 200 threshold. I'm hoping it's nothing but a statistic and everything is fine, so we'll probably go ahead with the amnio to just make sure. There are some problems they could find that are possible to fix while in utero, so we'll just see. I really can't take much more stress in all of this, so I'm praying all is well.

unexplained infertility - Don't worry about the kicks, you're still early on to feel it all of the time I think. They discovered that my placenta is in front of my uterus, so I probably won't feel the kicks as early as most..which kinda sucks. I'm glad they told me though, so that I don't get to freaking out. Mmm, the virgin daiquiri is sounding mighty good about now! I haven't had the craving for beer or wine lately (odd for me), but something fruity sounds so good. I'm glad you had a great and relaxing holiday weekend, just what you needed! Now kick that girls butt into gear and show her who's boss :)

Hi ladies:
Dakota-I'd love to know the sex sooner, but will be patient I guess  On your heartrate, do you notice you also breathe heavier? Since about week 3-4 I breathe 2 times for my husband's 1. I've never done that as I used to be a runner, so its been pretty interesting, and I run out of breath pretty quickly during activities.

angram-I'm sorry you went through all of that. Is there any more word on causes, or are they chaulking it up to possible cervical bleeding after sex? I'm really glad you're getting rest though. Take it any way you can get it.

unexplained-my OB said I may not feel any kicks til even 18-20 wks, and I'm 17 wks tomorrow. My placenta is in the back, so they had expected me to feel earlier, however again they said it isn't a rule :)

My monthly OB visit yesterday yeilded a 150's heartrate, and my weight gain right on target for my size at about 10lbs. I'm in the range to gain 29lbs when all said and done, so will expect to balloon out nearer the end. I've definitely gotten the rounded belly beginnings now, and am now fully in maternity clothes. I'm about 5'5" so the boobs and belly on my short waist are taking up a lot of room...

I asked my OB about the sex, and she claimed several things, of course that I shoud take with a grain of salt. Heart rate slower or faster can be male or female depending on who you ask, and increased hair growth in armpits and legs (I have) can be a boy. I didn't know if this was because of testosterone? I didn't think we mixed blood that way, but again she said the best thing to do is wait to find out, which we will. Come on 9/26!

Getting ready to take off this weekend to the Tetons for a week in our rv which will be such a welcome change of scenery! I'm glad all is going well with you ladies - keep up the great work mommies!

Angram- How are you feeling??

Ftg- Yes!! I noticed the breathing right away in the beginning and I find that I get out of breath alot now. I am glad that all went well with your OB visit and everything is right on target.

Unexplained- I hear ya, no hump day in my house!!

I felt my first flutter yesterday!!!! It was so great!!! I was slouched on the couch with a bad headache and I had just ate when I felt it and I know that it wasnt gas because, first it was different and 2nd I ate a big steak the day before so I am a little blocked right now. So I jumped up and ran and got the doppler and put it in that exact same spot and sure enough there was the heartbeat and you could hear all the noises of the little one in there moving all over the place. It was so cool!!

My OB visit went good. I've gained 2 lbs since my last visit 4 weeks ago. She listened to the HB and talked about all the movement we could hear in there. I had just ate and drank some OJ :P I also talked them into getting me another u/s in 2 weeks!! Yeah!!! I am going to drink a big ol' glass of OJ right before I go and hopefully in two weeks we'll know what we are having. I am so excited!!! Then in 6 weeks from now I will get my 20 week u/s, but it will be more like 21 weeks by then.

We found out some CRAZY news the other day. I know I've talked about my SIL being pregnant and that she was a week behind me. Well, she had a hard time getting into her Dr and we all were going by her last AF, which was JUne. Anyway, she goes in there and she is 30 weeks!!!!!!!! Due in Nov!!!!!! She about died!!!!!!!! They only have 2 months to get things done. She had no idea because she had normal AF up until June. She is on the heavy side and she just thought she was gaining weight (she carries her weight in her middle section). So they are having a girl!! We were all just flored!!

Hop everyone is having a good day and all is well.

Good morning Ladies!
Do you mind if I join in? It's been a while since I've been on and I've realized that I'm lost not chatting! LOL!

DAKOTA- I'm thrilled that everything is going so well for you! Waiting for posted pictures!

I was reading about the 3D ultrasounds....they are worth it! The only thing that can be a disappointment is if you go in too early the tech might not be able to see the gender. I went in at 16 weeks....saw everything else BUT that! We are going back on Saturday for a re-check.

Anyone having weird cravings?????

HI Everyone!

Dakota - WTG on your appointment I am so glad everything is going ok! That is crazy news about your SIL. I don't know what I would do.

Angram - Are you ok? DH and I still have not had sex because I am so scared of that. I know it is not logical but it is scary.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I have my appt today and I am really scared and happy again. I feel like everything is ok but you what we do to ourselves.

We have also been dealing with my FIL. He has pancreatic cancer and was diagnosed 6/07 and has been fighting it. But the cancer came back in April and now the tumors have grown again. The current chemo has stopped working so they have to try a new one but the insurance may not pay for it. It we don't find a new treatment he probably won't have very much time left. He is having such a hard time because he only retired a year ago and has been waiting for this baby for so long.

DH is struggleing because he is worried about me and the baby and his dad. He wants our baby to have a relationship with its grandpa. We don't have any other grandpa's and he doesn't want our baby to not have known a grandpa.

It sucks that we have to think about this while we are trying to be happy about the baby.

I will post later after my appt to give you an update!!!

Morning ladies - Not much to report, but wanted to stop by and say hello. Bleeding finally stopped and I've just had "old blood" issues since Wednesday, but that's better than it had been. Other than that just working and planning our trip to Chicago in a couple of weeks. I'm so ready for some nice cool air, so I'm totally jazzed :)

Tarabeltwo - Excellent news on your appt, glad you got to hear the HB and get to go back in 2 weeks! I'm so very sorry to hear about your FIL and I pray he gets to meet this little bundle of joy he's been waiting for.

hopefulinillinois - I have not had one craving so far, still waiting for that to kick in. I'm actually still turned off by the site of meat, so a craving of any sorts sounds good to me. We can go in for our 3/4D around 26 weeks, but we're still not sure if we want to find out the sex. I'm actually scheduled for an amnio on the 15th, so we can find out for sure at that time if we want to know.

Dakota - Wow, your first flutter...congrats!!! I've been told I probably won't feel the baby for quite some time, since my placenta is on the front of my uterus. I was sad at first, but figure I have too many other things to think about and when it's my turn it'll happen :) I cannot believe your SIL is 30 weeks and didn't know, wow!

ftg - No cause on the bleeding, but of course I'm paranoid now. We're not allowed to have sex until everything stops completely, so we'll keep waiting and see what happens. Congrats on the 17 weeks, great HB, and excellent weight gain :)

Well I should probably get my day started, since I'm still in my pj's :) A co-worker is also pregnant and passed the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy book along to me and I've been reading all morning. If you haven't read it, it's pretty funny and darn truthful. I can't remember who said it before, but it's another good read like the Jenny McCarthy book. I'm also totally addicted right now to the Stepahnie Meyer Twilight Saga books, which have been great fast reads. I'm not usually into vampire books, but I really recommend this series.

Sorry for the novel, just got to chatting. I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

HopefullIL- I am SO glad you finally joined us!!!! I do have cravings, but nothing weird, mostly french fries, or things really spicy or really saucy (lots and lots of sauce). I've had a weird urg for a beer, but I think that I am just so thursty and when DH drinks his the bottle looks so cold.
Good luck at your next 3-D screening. I cant wait to hear what you are having.

Tara- I am SO sorry to hear about your FIL. Maybe it might make his day to go with you guys on your next u/s? It may be kinda weird, but with what he is going through the pure joy of seeing his grandbaby on screen may take away alot of his hurt/pain/scared feelings.
Glad to hear everything went fine at your apt.

Angram- I am thrilled to hear you are doing better!! I have dreams at least once a week that I am bleeding, I wake up scared to death and have to run to the bathroom. Once you see that red the panic just sets in. I am so, so glad that you stopped and all is well.
I also read the girlfriends guide, LOVe it!! It was great!!

Nothing new going on here. I am just impatiently waiting for "the pop". I hate looking fat. The combo of the boobs getting big and the belly getting big I just look fat right now. I am hoping in the next few weeks I will wake up to "wow". I need to go register once we find out because SIL's shower is coming up and all our family from other states (outside of the state we live in and the state SIL lives in) wants to go buy our gifts at the same time, but I dont want to feel stupid going to register and not even looking pregnant.

Anyone still feeling lots of tightness, cramps, pintching, pulling and pokes? For some reason I thought it would lighten up after the 1st trimester but I am still getting all of that.

Oh...a must buy... The Baby Bargin book!!! A friend gave it to me and it is fab!!! It rates all the brands for cribs, car seats, must haves a dont bothers. Its great!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

HI Girls

Thanks for the support with the FIL. The whole situation just sucks. He is only 63. Way too young.

I did something fun this morning. I emailed all my friends, most of them at work, I hadn't told yet. They have lived through this whole process with us and they are so supportive. Now I am getting back all these great emails it is really fun!

Dakota - I totally agree with you about the whole pinches and pulls thing. Mine have seemed to change a little to. They seem to be less often but more intense. My personal favorite is the stabbing feeling all over. I told a friend the other day that those pains were the most surprising thing about being pregnant. I wasn't expecting them.

So! I have been pretty lucky with the morning sickness during this pregnancy. I only had a few days of nausea and it only lasted a few hours. Well starting last week I had 2 days that I almost threw up and Saturday I was nausous all day long. I just thought it was weird that it would hit in my second trimester.

Well that is all my news for now. Have a good Monday everyone!

Tara- I agree, I had no idea all the pains that are associated with being pregnant. At least so early on, I figured as much once you hit the 3rd tirmester and the size of a house, but wasnt thinking so this early. Sometimes it takes my breath away and cant move for a few sec until the pain leaves. Now I am getting alot of pokes just outside the belly button all the way around.
Sorry to hear you are getting sick in the 2nd trimester. I still find that if I am really hungry I get ill or when my co-worker brings in funky food to eat, like crawfish I get ill.

NEED HELP I am starting a new phase right now where I am hungry ALL the time. I was like this early on, like the first 8 weeks and it went away until the last 3 days, actually once I hit 15 weeks. I cant get enough food. I just ate an egg & cheese sandwhich and hashbrowns and I am still hungry. I ate like 10 times yesterday and went to bed starving!!!! Anyone else going through this, or went through this around 15 weeks? I did read that between 15-17 weeks the baby grows 3-4 inches, is that growth spurt what is causing me to be so hungry?

Two weeks ago the OB said she thought one was a girl but I never belived that and then yesterday there they were to little turtle heads poping out. It a bit of a weird feeling of course I am happy but I have the little piece of me that wished for one of each.

Anyways everything else is going along just fine. I feel fine big and fat but I guess that comes wiht the game.

Hey all you ladies,

Sorry for being MIA for a while, what a ride this is! Dakota - you weren't talking to yourself, I was still reading most days!

Well, glad to see that everyone is doing really well apart from the odd pains and pulls, and some morning sickness still. Tarabel, sorry to hear about your FIL, that really sucks. I think that was a wonderful thought Dakota for him to go to one of the scans.

I am so happy to be in the second trimester pretty much (depending on which book you read!) with all of you now. And Children, wow, you are really half way through!!!!!

So, my poops finally went away by themselves, about 4 days after I did a pooperscooper! It came back negative for anything nasty though, so I still dont know what that was about but glad it's gone! I had my 12 week scan, and then yesterday went for the nuchal translucency scan. One of the babies had hiccups, very cute, and we got to hear the heartbeats for the first time, which was amazing. They are both growing a few days ahead of schedule, and although she couldn't get a good measurement of the fluid cos of their positions, she said they looked great and like all was okay. We decided not to go ahead with any blood tests, as with twins I guess it;s very hard to decide what is going on and even with an amnio they can then get the results mixed up as to which baby has a problem. So, we just aren't going there. We got a ton of u/s pics which was cool, and go back in 3 weeks for the 16 week scan and hopefully find out what they are.

Rubylee congrats on your two girls!!! And Genessa on your two boys!!!

For now, I believe I have one of each, but we'll see!

Well, guess thats good for now,
Adsgirl, hope u are okay too.

take care all and I'm going to try and get back to chatting again, I miss it!
