Rio - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 40 will be an amazing year for you!

Margi - we are soooooo close to Tuesday! I'm really hoping for a great u/s from you! How far along will you be? Hoping to see a heartbeat or two?

deidraj -- thanks for sympathizing. It's crazy how people think that infertility is a problem only for older people and that since we are in our 20s, we should just 'relax and let it happen'. People are really ignorant. If I waited another 10 years, I'm not sure I would ever have kids! What's frustrating is that a bunch of our friends have several kids, but no one tells them they are too young. Only because we have to do IVF do people feel the need to judge our life choices. UGH. Congrats on 28 weeks! That's ahuge milestone!

AFM - u/s this morning was FANTASTIC! :D I'm so happy. Both babies had great heartbeats and they measured 7w4d and 7w3d (I'm 7w5d - but they have always measured 1-2 days behind). I'm sooooo relieved. I'm going to try to relax and enjoy this pregnancy (and the puking that comes with it!). Next step is another u/s in 2.5 weeks and an OB appt in 3. Phew. I'm so happy this pregnancy is working out so far!

Mellow - Thank you so much for your kind words. I am finally starting to feel a little better although still in shock that all this occurred. Apparently, my dad had a sit-down with my brother this morning and explained to him in a calm manner about how his behavior has been out of control lately and that he should see a psychiatrist. Surprisingly, he agreed to calling my uncle who is a psychiatrist to get him a referral to one of the best psychiatrists in the area. Dad even got him to throw out his cigarettes. I am still a bit skeptical about all this working, but at least it's a start. Still not going to speak to him for all the pain he has caused my DH and I, but hoping that he snaps out of it soon for his own wellbeing.

Amanda - what a sweet family you have! Thanks for sharing the pics & thank you for your kind words. :)

Margi - thanks again for your PM. It really did help me feel a lot better. :) Can't wait for your U/S on Tuesday! Anxious to find out how many you have cooking in there! I have mine scheduled for the same day in the morning as well. Hoping to see an active baby in there. :D

Barbara - thank you so much! :) Although I'm an RN and have taken CPR courses a few times, I think I'll pay an extra close attention when I renew my CPR certification this time, especially when covering the infant material. :P

Karenvancouver - I feel like my hormones are out of control all the time and get emotional over the silliest of things and I'm only 10 weeks so far. Hey, at least i'm 1/4 way there! lol Hope you got yourself some "me" time since then.

Ryann - thank you for sharing your story and I'm so glad to hear everything worked out between you and your brother and that he's going to be one of your baby's godfathers. That's great! Maybe a few years down the road, we, too, can mend our relationship. At the present time, I really don't see that happening anytime soon. So sorry to hear about your heart issues! I hope everything turns out fine.. please keep us updated. Happy to hear you're finally able to keep some food down though! Only took half your pregnancy! :P

Lou - My NT is scheduled a week after yours on the 13th. I'm just looking forward to seeing our baby on the screen and trying not to overthink it. According to my Mayo Clinic book on pregnancy, a CVS can be done anytime between 9-14 weeks of gestation, so you can still schedule it after your NT. Hoping for positive, reassuring results for you, however!

Rio - how amazing that your son's name is Alexander! We decided on baby names way back in 2009 when we went to Italy. If we have a boy, we're going to name him Alexander Maximus (meaning Alexander the Greatest) and if it's a girl, then Athena Mariah. Can't wait to finally attach a name to this baby of ours. Hope you had a great time celebrating your 10th anniversary of your 30th birthday! :D

Didi - Congrats on your precious bundle of joy! Looking forward to seeing Rachel Elizabeth's pictures! So glad to hear you both are doing well.

Nicole - so glad to hear your niece is doing well. She really is a trooper! Bless her heart. Glad to hear the good U/S results of your baby. The worry just never ends.

Chris - We were told by our RE that we can resume having sex when we saw a heartbeat, which was exactly at 6 weeks. We were still hesitant and wanted to wait another week despite DH going crazy. Soon after, however, DH got the most horrible flu/bronchitis and is now finally starting to feel a bit better. I, on the other hand, feel nauseous and lightheaded most of the day, so my sexual appetite is pretty low these days. Poor DH!

Leora - really looking forward to your U/S results tomorrow! Just read your update.. YEAH for your babies doing so well! So happy for you, hun. Enjoy that pregnancy of yours and keep your worries to a minimum now! :)

Deidraj - congrats on reaching third trimester!! How exciting! I'm sure you'll look beautiful with your bump at your best friend's wedding! I love how cute prego mommas look during their 3rd trimesters. :P

AFM - Finally picking myself up after the incident with my brother. Found out my dad got into a car accident that same night he got released from the ER for gastritis. He fell asleep behind the wheel, hit the freeway divider and injured his shoulder with a clavicular sprain, I believe. He landed in ER again the very next day. Now he can't work for another month or so. My mom also recently got diagnosed with varicose veins and is finding it very difficult to walk w/out pain. I just hate seeing my parents in pain and wish I could do something to alleviate it. :( I have my next OB appt scheduled for Tuesday and then an NT scan on the 13th. Really looking forward to seeing my baby on the screen. I miss him/her sooo much and can't wait to start feeling the kicks. However, I've been told that it looks like I have an anterior placenta, so it may take a while for me to start feeling the baby move, huh? Bummer.

A question for those with PCOS and taking Metformin. How long into your pregnancy did you take the medicine? Is it safe throughout pregnancy or only the first trimester? I've heard conflicting stories and my OB did not know the answer (stupid).. It's nearly 1 AM and I'm out of my meds so need to stop by the local walgreens drivethru to pick up my refill. I guess I'm off..
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Leora-So HAPPY to read your good news! I'm very excited that everything is going great!

I'm not usually on here this early, but this congestion is making it extra hard to sleep, like the sore hips and legs aren't enough! At least being up at 5am is getting me ready for when baby Jasmine gets here & will have me up at all hours of the night.

sorry for the short post, ladies! Mexico has me either moving or resting. LOL

All is excellent - baby boy moves so much it's become family entertainment at night to watch my belly swish and bounce. I can't believe how strong he is - I have an anterior placenta and was told by all 'experts' I would not feel him move until 22 - 24 weeks... well we felt him clearly at 18 weeks and now he actually can kick things OFF my stomach.

Leora I had to jump in and say big hugs to you, my dear! I know how terribly upset you were and how frightened and how your history has been such a burden to bear. I am so thankful and truly happy that your lovely little beans are growing and loving being inside their mama! Congrats again, kiddo!!!

Leora: YEAH!!!!! SO happy for you! :D :D Excellent news...and did they give you another picture of your darlings? I am 2 weeks and a couple days behind ya. On Tuesday I will be 5w6d...so definitely hoping to see a HB or two!!

Ashley: Again, so sorry for all the family difficulties. Your poor parents. I am glad that the accident wasn't worse for your dad, although he is probably in a fair bit of pain from that injury. :( Glad that your brother is making the first step to get help...hope that he follows through so that he can mend that relationship with you-at some point. I agree with you, not too soon. It is going to take some time. In the meanwhile concentrate on yourself and your bean and DH.

I cannot thank you enough for all the warm wishes for my big 30+10 birthday! You girls are sooo sweet! My boys really spoiled me, DH had the whole house decorated with 40s and big banners and it was just all so sweet and so considerate. DS was very excited and called it an all day mommy birthday party! AHHHHH!

Leora - I am so glad to hear all is well with your beans! Enjoy!

SD - I do not know how to relax in the pregnancy anymore ;) I think that I worry all the time too. I have been having a very sore belly and of course I am reading all about signs of premature labor, which I don't think I have but everything is so gray, you can have Braxton hicks and be fine or you can be in premature labor, geesh thanks!!! So I have to make a conscious effort to enjoy and relax! That's why I asked you the magic week number!

Margi - I am so excited about Tuesday I just cannot wait to hear what you got baking in there! You will be excited , the only question is about how many!!!

Hope - I am so sorry about all the family stress and health issues. THat makes it so hard to relax, I really hope it all works out and your brother gets the help he needs. Yeay for 10 weeks! Great name by the way!!!

Amanda - your family is soooo gorgeous!

baby blu - did you get it all straight with work and leave and new OB?

Karin - have you decided on your trip?

Karen - preggers sleep does stink, and we still have a ways to go!!!!

Leoira - WOOHOO glad everything is ok with your twins. That has to be a load off.

Ashley - I think i have read that you can take metformin throughout your pregnancy. I am also taking it but not religious about it. I think all OB's are different. Some are cool with taking the metformin other aren't. Sorry about your family difficulties. Hope your parents get better soon.

Rio - Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Margi - Can't wait for you u/s and see how many are baking. only a couple more days.

Dandme - I'm jealous. I need a vacation bad. We have one scheduled but it isn't till the week of Memorial day. Seems so long.

AFM - 3 more days till my u/s. I still have no symptoms which i know is normal but that doesn't stop me from thinking crazy. I can still fit in all my pants so that's good. i am dreading buying preggo clothes. I'm a plus size but only by a little. some pants i can wear an 18 reg but others they have to be 18 plus so i figured finding the right clothes is going to be a pain in my behind.

Hi all,

I'm still here. I haven't forgotten about posting a picture. It's just been chaotic. We have to feed the babies every 2-2.5 hours during the day. By the time I get through with feeding, supplementing with formula and pumping, it's almost time to start the cycle all over again. Then I have to find time to feed myself.......

Leora -- Sooooo glad your u/s was awesome and the babies are doing well! No, my family (aunt/grandfather) didn't know that we did IVF or how hard we tried. Only my grandmother knew that much. They're just a bunch of assholes!

karenthescorpio -- Oooooo.... I do wish your jeans were in my size! I wore a 2/4 pre-pregnancy and I'm short.... so I'm sure they're too long. I'm only 5'4". Did someone buy them from you?

Rio -- Your b-day sounds like it was very nice with DH and your son. How thoughtful of him to go out of his way like that to make it special! You are one lucky 30 + 10 lady!

SD -- Nah.... no offense taken. I know my Aunt has always always always been jealous of me and she hates that I'll be getting attention. My grandfather said "so what" because I think he was really excited when I was pregnant before and then lost it. I left an u/s pic with my grandma and I caught him studying it when he thought I wasn't looking. I know he cares... he just doesn't show it with words. My Aunt is just an asshole. I've learned to accept that type of reaction from her. She doesn't phase me in the least. Glad your u/s was fantastic also!

diedra -- Yeah, "insensitive" sums up my family to a "T". My grandfather cares... he just can't show it. My aunt is an ass. She's just very jealous of me and always has been. So I can deal with them. My grandmother is the excited one. Grandpa will come around. He loves babies and kids. I think he's scared I'll lose this one too. Glad your vertigo went away. Luckily, I haven't had any issues with anything like that (yet).

Margi -- I cannot WAIT for your u/s on Tuesday! Hang in there.... only two more sleeps!

Hopeisallihave -- Really? A CVS can be done up to 14 weeks? I believe I was told 10-12 weeks and possibly up to 13. But since my NT is at 12w4d, I doubted I could get it scheduled in 3 days before I was officially 13 weeks. Hmmm.... I'll have to ask. I don't know that I want one unless there's a real question about the baby. Too risky. So sorry about your family issues. I hope your parents get well soon. And yes, you can take metformin if your OB wants you to throughout your pregnancy.

Sonya -- Glad to hear you're having a grand 'ol time in Mexico! When do you come home?

Chris -- Your u/s is just days away! I'm very excited to hear what you've got baking in there.

Reenie -- Wow... you sure sound busy with those twins! Would love to see pics when you have a moment.

AFM -- I feel really good. Played tennis yesterday and boy does my heart rate go up as compared to pre-pregnancy! It was 160-180 almost the whole time whereas I'm used to 130-160. We started talking names already too. We have a few faves.... for a boy: Zachary, Ian, Nathan, and Noah. Although "Noah" was going to be the name of the baby I lost esp after I found out it was a boy, so I don't think I can use it. I feel funny about it. For a girl: Payton/Peyton, Chloe, Allison, and Abigail are tops so far. The middle names will be family names, John for a boy and Jan or Janice for a girl. What do you guys think? I also took my 11 week pic today. My belly is just starting to show a bit with clothes on. I'm not wearing maternity clothes in this pic yet. Here it is:

UGH! I lost my post... son of a gun!

Leora - CONGRATS!!! After everything you've been through, you very much so deserve this excitement and relief. I'm so very happy you and DH! :D :D

Rio - What better way to welcome the next chapter of your life than to celebrate with your favorite fellas! Sounds like you had a great birthday. My work thing will be worked out this coming week. I have my first appt with my new OB on Tuesday, so she'll evaluate my condition and send it to my job after that. In the meantime, I'm at home. So fingers crossed she's nothing like the ball busting baby nazi I had.

Reenie - You GO breastfeeding twin momma!!! Just don't forget to make some time yourself... food, water, and an occasional shower

Lou - Super cute bump and names! I LOVE Payton/Peyton for a girl. I wanted to spell it Peighton, however, DH didn't like it. Oh well, good thing we're having two boys!

afm - I'm officially miserable... I can't sleep. I can't get comfortable. I have BRUTAL heartburn that never goes away. It had me up all night last night. I ended up throwing up bile (and crying with my head in the toilet) at 5 this morning. At least I was able to lay down and get a couple hours of sleep after that. And I recently found some lumps in my armpits that I'm desperate to get looked at. I know it's most likely breast tissue, but it's still worrisome. SIGH I hate being a whiner, but this is the hardest thing I think I've ever physically been through... And I know how blessed I am to be where I am. It's just getting really tough.

Hope all of you wonderful ladies are doing well!

Hello ladies,

Sorry I have been away for what seems like forever. was real busy with guests who stayed over for 10 days.

Leora - I am so happy for you and your twins! I'm also happy this will now give you a chance to relax and enjoy being pregnant!!! Good thing you are monitored carefully, and yet they advised it was safe enough for you to leave the house. I think prolonged bed rest is the worst mentally.

Lou - you look great in the picture, I read a while back about you family's reaction to your pregnancy and I'm so sorry you have to go through all this. But like everyone else said, we are happy for you, and we know precisely how precious this pregnancy is!!!

Baby_blu- I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain, I can only imagine as I really STILL feel nearly nothing besides being tired a lot which i bother to complain about. What you're saying put it all in a different perspective!

AFM - One healthy HB seen on U/S last Friday. We don't know the rate, but RE said healthy and we have now graduated and will see an OB next week. Also, I have a question - I have been told by RE to quit the progesterone suppositories next Tuesday, which means 8 weeks and 2 days. Am I the only one who thinks this is very early to quit? When did you all quit?

Blessings to all,
K

Hi K....... Hmmmm... my clinic stopped me at 10 weeks.. which was still hard. I know that it won't hurt anything if you keep going on them. I was nervous about stopping them as well. Perhaps talk to your doctor about it and ask if you can keep taking them if you want. Your peace of mind is more important than anything at this point. Huge congrats on your wonderful heartbeat! I am a freak - I have to know all the measurements, details and particulars.. drove my doc crazy until he just accepted it and had copies of everything prepared for me! LOL

Oh.. I'm sorry to hear you are having a tough time of it! I know what you mean about the heartburn, but thankfully mine is only at night. Our Mexico trip is amazing but I stupidly didn't bring quite enough Zan-tac and I am freaked out about the last night. Ugh. On a positive note, the Zan-tac really, really works.. have you tried it?? I also woke up the other morning throwing up bile and was miserable. It always wakes the baby when I move around too much so it was impossible to get back to sleep. I started my day at 4:30!

I hope you get those lumps checked out soon. You're right, chances are everything is perfectly normal, but don't risk it and get your mind at ease as soon as possible. You're not being a whiner. Being honest about what you are enduring physically does not mean you would trade it for the world or that you are not grateful for your babies! The next few months are gonna be the toughest for many of us... I'm personally gearing up big time! Look at how huge I am at only 6 months!!
