Thanks, Olim78! PMA does count for lots of positive outcomes! Technically, all my negative tests really mean is that there isn't enough of HCG in my system YET to be detected! ha! The test I use says it detects 20 or above.

Hi everyone - sorry I have been so MIA. Work is kicking my butt!!!! Don't they know that I need to be relaxing? With this being my first IVF cycle I have been pretty open with friends and family. I also told my boss because I could see him starting to pile the work on. As I expected, it hasn't made a difference. I have more work in the next few weeks than I can handle. Not sure how I am going to deal with all the stress with ER next week and transfer the following.

Unfortunately I am at work right now and have not been feeling great at night. The Lupron gave me 4 days in a row of terrible headaches. I have been reading and keeping up - just don't have time for personals right now.

sarah_ruth79 - just read that you are doing PGD! I was actually going to post something today asking if anyone else was doing it. I'm not sure how much info you have gotten. All I know is that we will be doing ICSI and if any of the embryos test "normal" I will have a 5 day transfer. Are you using a local lab for PGD? My RE sends theirs to Genesis Genetics in Michigan. Not sure how long it takes them to test the cells once they get them. Any info you have would be great to have! So nice to know there is someone going through the same process!

Everyone else, I hope to log back in tonight and really get myself updated. My first blood test for stims is tomorrow morning so anxious to hear how I'm doing.

Thanks girls for all the positive vibes! We just got a call from our RE to let us know that 3 fertilized!!! They are waiting on the others, but 3 for sure! We are thrilled as we have only had 1 out of 8 our first cycle, 1 out of 12 our second cycle and DH and I were preparing ourselves over breakfast for a a big fat 0 !!!

For all the girls that may be down on PMA, please listen to all these wise girls - you never know and what you expect to happen can't be further from what will actually happen!

Anxiously waiting for Friday. I just want to go to bed right now and wake up on Friday morning  . I can't stand the suspense!

dodo928: Do not refrigerate progesterone in oil. It will only make the shots more painful because the oil is thicker.I use an icebag to numb the butt for ten min, while holding the prefilled syringe in my hand to warm up PIO. Warm oil thins out and needs less effort to inject and bruises less. Lie down on the bed on your side, straight the bottom leg, bent the top leg with knee touching the bed, this help relax butt muscles. Have DH inject as hard as he can, the faster the better. Breathe in through your nose slow and deep while you the needle goes in and out slowly through your mouth the medicine is going in -- it can help keep you relaxed and while will help the shot not hurt so much! Then use heating pad and massage to help the progesterone dissipate. Alternate side every night. Sounds like a lot, but once you start doing it, it's not too bad, it all depends on DH. :)

Well, I have missed you girls so much! We were trying desperately to figure out the $$$ situation with no insurance. It didn't look like it would happen, but I think we have it all figured out now (except for the meds).

I'm so excited to see the first BFP - CONGRATS FIREFLY! To those of you with upcoming betas - GL. I will have to go back trough and catch up so that I can do personals. I just had to stay away because we weren't sure if we were going to be able to move forward...hope you all understand.

I am now on my BCP's and I have my next u/s on 12/01/09. ER & ET are scheduled for 01/13 and 01/18. Does anyone know where I can get donated meds? We need all the help we can get; this is so expensive out of pocket! I asked my RE and the nurse said she would check, but no word yet. I can't imagine not being able to have a child because of the $$$ factor! This is a crazy world we live in...abortions are cheap and IVF is expensive, I think that's backwards!

Thinking of you all!!

does PIO work better than the progesterone inserts? it's definitely yucky but sounds like less of a pain than those shots...

ashleyncsu77 - I also told my boss about my IVF, kinda had to when I have to take off from work so often for all the tests and procedures. Luckily he is a family man and has been very supportive, I can really use it since most of my family does not know yet.

karenthescorpio - Hang in there! I've read that hpt can be inaccurate for us going thru IVFs because our hormones are so jacked up. Cakebread is awesome, I wish I can have some now...

katie99 - So nice to see i am part of a group, hugs to everyone!

I had some spotting this morning, my doctor said it could be implantation bleeding :D or nothing :? , but definitely no period. Since I am so confused and anxious these days, I will just think it's implantation bleeding and roll with it!

Hope everyone is having a great day and let's beat last thread's stats!

KarentheScorpio-I am sure that you have read many stories about negative HPT's and then a positive Beta so still stay in there!!! It aint over till the bloodwork!!!!

Franny-sorry to hear about the stresses of being a homeowner. My DH always tries to be home when we have workers at our house in case something like that happens and he always thinks because I'm a woman that they will try and take advantage of trying to get more money from me!!!! That's fine with me since I don't have to deal with the stess!!!

LuLu-thanks for the detailed description of PIO shots--hopefully I make it to those this cycle and I say bring on the bruised butt!!!

albany-YAH for 3 so far!!! The others can still catch up also :P

2010-good luck with your estrogen levels today!! I hope they stay within range and you are good to go for you ER and ET!! I had almost 30 follies last cycle and they had to watch my e2 levels as well and when I never triggered and they stayed in my body they were worried about overstimulating but I never did so hopefully I will be ok this cycle as well

me2009-I have little bruises all over my stomach also and then getting acupuncture on top of that doesn't help!!! Definitely starting to feel like a pin cushion!!!

supergenius-any word on your 18 embies??!! That must have been exciting to hear that high number coming out of your ER

AFM I went in this morning for b/w and u/s and they saw 5 small follies on right side and 8 small follies on left side. I think I had more last cycle, but I'm trying to not worry and they said they were going to call and let me know how my bloodwork looks! I can't wait to start stims!!!! I have been having bad headaches the past few days which is a bummer since I had NO effects last time I took Lupron!!! Hope to hear more BFP's today....will keep you all updated

Julia78 – I was going to ask that Q. I didn’t get a choice. I just got given the pessarys to take twice daily. Hope they are effective...?

Happier – I like your thinking....definitely implantation bleeding! PMA!

Albany07 – Congrats on your 3 fertilised eggs, that’s fab – you only need one!

AshleyNCSU77 – Am sorry you are so swamped at work, it’s not what you need is it. Try to take it easy.

Riley Baby Maybe – Glad to have you back...good luck sorting out your meds.

Claud662 – Sounds like lots of potential there with your follies, those numbers sound fine to me. Keep us posted.

Turtle 0619 – sorry to hear about your roof, it’s always one thing after another isn’t it? Someone obviously thought you didn’t have enough to stress about! Take it easy.

Hi everyone -

Well, I guess I'm trapped at home today waiting for my meds. So of course now I'm desperate to be out, just because I know I cant. I had a big talk with DH last night as far as this being the last try (as least w/ my eggs) It sucks that by now we are both trying not to feel that extra pressure, but how could you not? All you can do is jump in & hope for the best

Chris -We are all hoping & praying for you! Did you get beta results yet? or do you have to wait for the 2nd set? i've got everything crossed for you!

Cheeky -How goes the 2 ww of torment? i hope that you're keeping busy to help it pass quicker. As always, my friend, sending you much love, sticky thoughts & patience dust! Hopefully this will be the last thread we are on - other than preg after treatment!

Syanna -You're a crazy girl! Your posts always make me smile! Hope your DH is in check now, or Franny is gonna come get him!
When do you start your stims? Then the man better really look out!

Teachermom -Where are you? How is the 2ww going?

Bethany -No doggie comedy like tripping you on the stairs after ET
Mine are like velcro pups too - grow those follies!

Franny -EeK! a roofing bill + a mason's bill + IVF = OUCH!
You're probably up on the roof with them to get them done faster! Aww your DH sounds so sweet! Hope todays estimates were much lower!

Lulu -glad to hear your news! 1 strong little embie is all you need!

2010you had a long stim, you must be so ready to get them out already! crossed for trigger tonight!

Karen -Dont give up yet! the only definite is the blood test! Crossed for your beta tomorrow!

Albany -Hooray for 3 fert! I never get big numbers either, but all you need is 1 good one! wishing you loads of PMA!

Riley- good luck sorting out your meds, I know its so hard. Did you mean ER on dec 13? or jan 13?

Julia -i prefer the PIO injections, so I am sure that I got the entire dose. My Re has me do 1 Crinone insert in the AM then 1 ml PIO injection PM - the inserts leak out a bit, so you never really feel dry (sorry TMI) If you do the inserts only I think you do x3 a day, so you are getting enough
They say that they are just as effective

Claud -Good luck with stims! Grow em girl! Sorry to hear your lupron headaches are still happening, but will be worth it !

OMG! I feel like I wrote a book again - hugs all around!
