Hey ladies,

So, this is my first time to ivf and I am currently in the middle of an antagonist protocal. Did bcp for 19 days and 2 days later started on 10 low dose hcg in the morning and 450 follistim at night.

My ivf center is about 4 hours from where I live, so I am having my monitoring done here at home. The RE here can't answer my ivf questions (he only do inseminations), and the nurse takes a while to get back to me and doesn't seem to really know my chart. I am feeling a bit lost and thought this board might help!

So, I am a bit concerned because on my 3rd day of shots, I got my period. Not just spotting, a full out period. And my endometrium lining has been thin during my prior inseminations.

What do you think? I am freaking out that they will cancel because of my lining? I go for an ultrasound on Friday (day 7 of shots) and I may still be having my period.

Anybody have this problem before? Thanks for any advice! It should be a slow afternoon at work, so hopefully I can go through the list and get to know all of you!

ashley- yes, we are using genesis too. just had our conference call with dr. hughes. he is really great. there are only three labs that do it nationwide, but since dr. hughes invented the process we went with him. i know a LOT about the process, we have been researching for like a year deciding what to do. i am sure it might vary from couple to couple, we are doing it for CF gene (we don't have it but we are both carriers) so the process is different if you are doing it for chromosomal imbalance. we got dna from all of our parents and us, then they make a probe that is especially designed to isolate the carrier gene. after my ER they will do ICSI and hopefully we will get lots of embryos that make it to day three. on day three they take a cell from each embryo and send it by courrier to the lab in michigan. a team there conducts tests to see which are infected with cf, which are carriers and which don't have it. these teams work round the clock because the results have to be in my day 5 for the transfer. so then they let your doctor know and on day 5 he or she will talk to you about the results, as well as how the embryos are doing. i think we will not use any that have cf, that's why we are doing this, but we will use carriers if those happen to be in the best shape. so we will see!! let me know if you have questions and ask dr. hughes for the dvd, it was helpful.

turtle- ugh, the roof sounds terrible. i feel like if i drop a bagel on the floor its a disaster these days with my moodiness, so i can't imagine having and actual crisis!

oh turtle gosh you have so much goings on in your life haven't you my dear damn roof people probably was their fault to begin with didn't check it out properly we'll i hope everything is fixed before the snow settles in so you can get back to the real business of getting preggo's.

katie yeah it really does suck thinking of the extra pressure of wondering if this is it with your own eggs it's a big stress on it's own. It really does freak me out wondering the next step anyway my friend thats all going to be a distant memory we just have to believe we are going to get what we want most

AFM your never going to believe this 1 day into my 2ww i started having busting peeing sensations like you got to go and u can't we'll went to the doc and it's a bladder infection crap crap crap I have to take anti biotics to clear it. I don't want to take them cause it might hurt implantation but at the same time urinary infections not good either. does anyone know if this can hurt my chances gosh just so bummed at the moment. If it's not one damn thing after another maybe i'll ask ghost. my doc said the anti biotic is not harmful but not 100 percent sure thanks for that doc.
what a time to get that ok ladies enough ranting from me

For a ton of follies!!!! I have quite a few on each side and they are growing well!!! Had my appointment this morning and everyhting is going off wih out a hitch.

to_have_fun08 - So sorry to hear your news. I'm still going through my first cycle so I can't say I fully understand but I can empathize for sure. Please try to keep your head up. I know we all say that but hopefully you can find some light in what is otherwise a disappointing day.

sarah_ruth79 - how cool that you are using Genesis too. Interestingly we were told we would have a conference call with Dr. Hughes but it hasn't happened. I have been corresponding with one of the genetic counselors. Also interesting is that they are removing your cells on day 3 and hoping for a day 5 transfer. That may be an option for us but our RE told us that they may wait until day 5 to pull the cells and then freeze my embryos while they wait for results from Genesis. I have to say - when they told me they were going to have to freeze them I was skeptical. Now that we are only a week away from retrieval I should probably ask the questions to make sure I fully understand. Thanks for the info! And good luck!

turtle0619 - holy cow, when it rains it pours for you...hoping you only have to fix everything once.

cheekyone - i don't think every antibiotic is the same with respect to pregnancy risk; read the small print for all the possible effects. nothing is 100%, so your doc was just covering his behind (my 2 cents).

Beachadele - welcome! i think a couple ladies on this board have had the bleeding a couple days into the stims, so maybe it's not a big deal.

Thanks ladies for your PMA and good wishes for the beta test tomorrow. I feel like a female character in that movie "he's not that into you"...like I"m looking for the exception when I pretty much know I'm the rule! hehehe I'm doing ok. Glad the wait will be over tomorrow. I'll let it all go with a nice glass of merlot and some chocolate. Then regroup for round #2! Hugs to all.

. You have been through so much. Miracles do happen, I have a little one after 2 tubal pregnancies.Next week is my beta from my FET, I'm soooooo nervous about it,

I know it is devastating to get a negative result and right before turkey day. I told DH I would kiss a horses ass if I get a "+ result." We live in the country so I'll have to own up to it

Just got the call that I start stims tonight!!!!!!! YEEEAAAHHH!!! But (of course there has to be a but) I am getting my AF and my cramps are already starting to hurt!!! So I will be crampy and bloated the next 9 days of my life!!!

to-have-fun-so sorry but please keep your head in the game and keep on going.

karenthescorpio-I go to IRMS in northern NJ if you are unhappy with RMA....They are very good at getting back to me when I have questions and I am overall very happy there-but hopefully you won't need to switch dr since you can still get a BFP!

supergenius-lucky #13!!! I can't wait to see how many follies I make this cycle...last time I was at 30 (never went to ER though) so if I can get near you I will be super psyched!

cheekybone-sorry to hear about your UTI...that stinks!! I'm sure you are ok with taking antibiotics. Last cycle I found a tick on me and the DR perscribed an antibiotic and they said it would have no effect on the 2ww or the embie

beachadele-I am also going to get my AF on day 3-6 of my stims. Totally normal!

bethany-glad to hear your progress is going well...grow grow grow
