Thanks Steph. That is what I was figuring. Plus $1500 for ICSI. I hope I wasnt rude be asking. I was just trying to get a figure since you are in FL too. Meds are expensive. That is good that your ins. covered a couple things.
I am new to the IVF/ICSI process. I so hope that DH is ok to do ICSI. Yes, we are both so very excited. And nervous because it is a lot of money. We are going to save everything we can and hopefully DH will get a better payingjob soon, that way we can save more or just get a loan. You are right, I cant wait. But I am ok. I am just so freaking happy we can try and have our BIO baby. I so want a baby that looks like DH. Ya know? I want to look at him/her and see DH. I am tearing up typing this to you. I dont think we could of gotten a better gift. Now I am so hoping it works. I am already worrying!!!LOL
Did I say 9000? Wow, I'm being hopeful! I meant to say 8000 - but hey, 9000 will work too!!
Mir - I am so thrilled for you, I can't even stand it. BTW, (not that you asked or necessarily care) - but our "shared risk" is $22K (including everything but drugs and sperm stuff - TESA & SA - but our insurance covered that - go figure). and we get 6 fresh cycles, along with any subsequent FETs, which don't count against your 6 - (if I could get a frozen embie, that'd be great!) Our drugs cost about $3K the first time, less the 2nd due to lower doses, and about the same the 3rd, with higher doses, but Freedom Pharmacy gives free Gonal-F on the 3rd cycle.
I can't wait to hear that you've got it all worked out!!!

You are so cute. Thank you so much for all the information! Your shared risk is a lot better than ours. Ours is $26,000 with only 3 fresh and 3 et. Of courst that is without meds.
So, your ins. covered the TESA? That is really good. So you did ICSI too?? How about AH?
Yes, we did ICSI on all 3 cycles. They told us they always do with previous vasectomies. The sperm generally build up an antibody which causes the fluid in which they swim to thicken, making it harder for them to penetrate the eggs. So ICSI was a given for us from the get-go.
Yeah, strangely, insurance covered the TESA - Since that's THE reason we were doing IVF to start with!! But, hey, we'll take what we can get! We only did it once, (geez, if DH has to do it again, we might be in for trouble!!) if they only knew what we go thru!
As for AH - yes, only on this last cycle. Our clinic has a policy that they use AH 1) for women over 37, or 2) have low day-3 bloodwork levels (i forget which level and for what, but mine were normal), or 3) have 2 or more "failed" cycles. My RE was somewhat hesitant because they consider my 2nd cycle as "successful" - since i achieved pregnancy, but m/c. But I insisted she do SOMETHING different - and she gave us two options, AH and transferring 3.
We decided to do AH and transfer 2 - if we have to go again, we'll do AH and transfer 3.
We'll get ya thru this. I am just so happy that you are going to be able to do it with DH!!!!! I know i keep spewing about it, but given that you'd always thought you would HAVE to use donor sperm - I just can't stop smiling for you!!
OH and you need to change your signature, sister!! You're no sad Eeyore anymore! Yup, IF still sucks, but you've just seen a ray of sunshine & hope!
