Good Morning Ladies,

I hope you are all doing well. Sorry that it has been a few days since I have posted but work is crazy with end of the year stuff and when I get home I am so tired all I do is eat dinner then go to sleep.

Tasha - It is wonderful that you get to keep your Dr. and only 5 lbs is great. I thought I was doing well (only 3 lbs) my first trimester but when I went to the OB this week I gained 6 more in a month. I'm not sure how I managed that because I thought I was eating pretty good but apparently I was wrong. I am really trying now to eat very healthy to slow down the weight gain. It does not help that I started off a little on the heavy side because I gained around 12 lbs during my ivf cycle. Oh well. I'll have pleanty of time to work it off once the baby is here. That is a good thing about having the baby in the summer. The weather will be nice enough to go out for walks every day and get some exercise.

Colleen - I'm glad that your appointment went well and I hope you get your test results back quickly. Let us know as soon as you hear anything.

Cowgirl - Congrats on the little girl. What a beautiful name. You must be so excited. I can't wait to find out what I am having.

Kim - I don't blame you for buying two cribs. And it sounds like you got a great deal on them. I know your worry about space. Even though we are having just one our home is so small that I have no idea where we will put everything. I have started trying to organize the house a little at a time so that we will be ready. Regarding what you should purchase double of I am not sure what most people do but you should post on the pregnant with twins board I am sure they can help you.

Racheal - Good luck with your appointment this weekend. Let us know how it goes.

As for me I am doing pretty well. I had an OB appointment this week and everything is going fine. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat which is always such a relief. They took some kind of blood test for Spinal defects and said that I should have the results in 2 weeks. I have my Level 2 in two weeks and I can't wait to see him/her again. I have a question ... for the first few months we want the baby to sleep with us in our bedroom so I can keep my eye on him/her and to make feeding easier. But I am not sure what to have the baby sleep in. A bassinet / Co-sleeper / Cradle / Portable Crib etc. Does anyone know which is the best? What are you guys doing?

Take care everyone.

All my best.

Happy Thursday Girls.... (thank god the week is almost over with).

Nance- glad to hear things are going well for you... Please keep us posted on your blood test results. Well we're planning on doing the same thing... having the little one sleep in our bedroom with us at first. We're going to register for a pack-in-play (portable crib). I'll set it up in our bedroom so it will hopefully make feeding times easier for us both. Also this way when we go away we'll have something for the baby to sleep in....

Nothing much new on this end... just getting ready for the weekend. We're going shopping on Saturday night for baby furniture w/ my parents. My Dad insists on buying all of the furniture for the baby's room. He's so excited.... this is his first grandbaby. And who am I to argue w/ him about buying the furniture (I'm grateful).

Well here's wishing you all a great day!

hi everyone, hope that all is well... things are crazy here and just waiting for things to get better..

tasha- that is awesome that you're dad is going to buy the nursery stuff for you guys... one less thing for you to worry about.. have fun shopping this weekend. do you know what stuff you want yet?? are you going to go with white, wood or something else??... as for us we are booked with b-day parties and stuff this weekend.. how big are thinking for your baby?? they say that the baby weight usually takes after your baby weight... so if you were born a big baby, then you could have a big baby.. also if DH was born very large, then that too can have an impact.. just remember that they are guessing, there is a lot of room for error.. good job on the weight gain... i too am doing good... i've actually only gained 2 lbs... so i'm trying to be good... i'm eating good, and cut out all the sweets and refined sugar, for the slight glucose problem.. if i start gaining a bunch of weight doc wil want me toi start testing my blood sugar several times a day... yuck!! so i'm doing good.. and will retest the glucose in 6 weeks....

nance- good to hear that things are going ok. soory that work has been crazy. you are going to find out if it's a boy or girl right?? i think that you said that you were... good luck on the US in a couple of weeks.. as for the baby sleeping in your room.. we used a bassinet, actually my girlfriends, so now we do not have one for this baby.... my kids both loved the bassinet, and they are on the cheaper side.... my other girlfriend just registered for a mini co-sleeper... it's like a small pack and play if room is an issue and the side folds down to be the same height as an adult bed.. it also folds up to travel?? that's an option... i also think that it might depend on how long you plan on having them in your room... a few months 3-6 the bassinet was fine, until the baby got bigger, but they loved the cozy "safe" feeling...

Kim-as for myself going early... the doc said that there are many reasons... first, my other 2 kids were 3.5 and 4.1 weeks early and with this baby, i'm already having spikes in BP, and my slight glucose intolerance and the slight placenta deficiency and the echogenic bowels make the baby more prone to still birth and IUGR, and the bleeding early on, can make the placenta not function as well... so he said that with everything combined, we will not go full term.. as for getting 2 of things... i would say that for the bouncer and swing, as long as you have one of each, each baby can be in one or the other... they come in handy for your shower time (if you are lucky enough to get a shower for the day).. my girlfriend with the twins found one of the stroller frames that you can put the infant carseats for 2 car seats, i think that it was babiesr us, but she said that was wonderfull... because they usually don't make the travel systems for two... she said that frame was what she just to be able to get out of the house... as for when they get older i would say 2 activity play centers... or exersaucers/jumperoo... you might be able to wait for x-mas time for those.... they too are good if you need to get something done for a few minutes. dishes/dinner/shower, ect.....

to all the other girls... i hope that you are all doing well, and getting a big belly.... take care

Colleen- glad to hear things are going well for you. Yes I'm very thankful that my Dad is going to buy the stuff for the nursey. I'm looking at a crib & dresser (changing table combo). I think we're going to go with wood... we just had hardwood floors put in that room last year so all it needs is a paint job and we're set. Well I'm thinking our baby is going to be around 8.5 - 9.5 pounds... big girl! Well I was 7lbs 12ozs. and my husband was in the 6's... so we were both kind of smaller.

Well I just found out my work is now re-evaluating our maternity leave policy here. Kind of scary..... if it's not one thing it's another.

Hope you all have a great night.

Hi gals...

I'm completely exhausted today, so I too am glad that weekend is almost here...

Nance, I'm glad you're doing well! Good luck with the blood work. I had some bloodwork done a couple of weeks ago to test for cystic fibrosis...haven't heard anything, so I assume all's well? I guess it's a standard test my OB does. Who knows...I'm so used to getting blood drawn...And hey, you should still be proud of your weight gain. I don't think 6 pounds is all that bad considering the baby is growing considerably right now. I'm like you--I gained at least 10 pounds from IVF. Since being preggers I've gained at least 10 more. (Of course, the fact that I've been eating ice cream on a fairly regular basis could not possibly help, huh?) As for the sleeping situation, my friend has the cosleeper and loves it. Another friend did the pack/play and that worked for her. I guess I would try to get the most bang for my buck...the pack and play could get a lot of use later on, right? But, on the other hand, cosleepers are smaller, so it might save you some space. (If it makes you feel any better I don't know what I'm going to do either...)

Tasha--That is AWESOME your dad is going to help buy the furniture! I'm sure he's just proud as punch about being a grandpa....that's neat that he can help. My parents are going to help with some of the stuff...I think they feel bad for us! They know we're so poor after IVF!

Colleen--Thank you sooo much for the advice about double stuff. I did find the "snap n go" that I think you were referring to. It will accept two infant carriers, and it's half the weight of the Graco double stroller--my girlfriend has a single snap-n-go, and she loves it! I guess it's so much easier to get in and out of the car than a standard stroller. I like your idea about the swings/bouncer. I'm going to have to tie these kids down in order to pee! ha! On a serious note, good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy. I guess I didn't realize your multiple issues to consider. It sounds like your doctor is very proactive, which would make me feel better! Sometimes I think my doctor can be too laid back. I'm not sure if it's just because I was used to my RE or what...

As for me, I feel like my stomach is growing exponentially at this point! Yikes! I do know that twins grow at the same rate as singletons until the 5th month....so my two babies are taking up a lot of room....and I'm only 5'4"! The good news is I've been feeling great, and I'm not really having any problems that I know of. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Good night girlies, sleep tight!

Well...

Once again I was MIA. I am very sorry all. I got into some trouble this last week. While I was in Florida, I got a really bad toothache and by time I came back it was worse. On Monday I called my normal dentist and he refused to see me unless my OB provided a note. I called and they gave me the letter. I called my dentist back and he made an appointment for Wednesday morning. Tuesday, I had my normal OB appointment and by then I couldn't eat at all. My OB threw a fit and called the dentist. She perscribed some pain meds and antibiotics. Wednesday was even worse! I went to the dentist and he did and exam and told us he would not fix the tooth because it already had a root canal. He refered us to an endodontist. We called five and none had appointments until Monday. I called my OB and she made some calls. She got me an appointment with a endodontist she knew for that afternoon. I went to see him and he did the exam and said he couldn't re-do the root canal because I was pregnant. He called the OB and between the two of them they got me an appointment with the oral surgeon for that evening. I went and he told me the tooth would have to be extracted, but he couldn't put me to sleep for the procedure. I just cried and my husband set it up for Thursday. Thursday morning, I went in and had the tooth pulled and then drove myself home. I cried the whole way home because it was the worst experience I have ever had and because I couldn't take my pain meds until I got home (hubby flew out of town before the procedure). I was in pain until Friday afternoon when the pain killer finally started making a difference. I missed three and 1/2 days of work and lost 5 lbs. On Friday I went back for the OB check up and my OB did an emergancy scan because of the weight loss, stress and the fact that the heartbeat was low. Well, the little one was sleeping, but she is right on target and everything looked good. I was sent home with instructions to eat up all the fatty foods I could muster and gain back some of the weight. I still cannot eat solid foods until tomorrow, but I am eating ice cream and normal yogurts and lots of fruit. I am positive that by time I return to the OB in two weeks, I will have gained all 5 lbs back and then some!

I noticed everyone is doing well. I will keep reading and then post personals. In the meantime, I am returning to bed for a little nap again!

Oh, Racheal, I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Yikes! I hope you're feeling better today. Was this one of your back teeth? I've heard that pregnant women need to be more careful about their teeth during pregnancy, but I thought that was just a wives' tale. I'm going to go brush mine right now. Feel better soon....and I''m sure that weight will come right back! Ice cream will do it for ya. ha ha.

Hello Girls!

Well, I am doing much better today. I am finally off of the narcotics and I am taking only tylenol and antibotics. Buckeye, you are very right. I had a big check up right before we did our treatment and they filled a bunch of little cavities and did a cleaning. However, the tooth that went bad (yes it was in the back) had a root canal done about one year ago. It urns out the dentist that did the procedure did not put the post in correctly and the tooth had space for an infection to take. It was just a matter of time and the increased blood supply that occurs in pregnancy will accelerate the process. As far as the weight, I have put 2 lbs back on just this weekend. Today I have a real lunch and I am thrilled. Through all of this, Makayla has been very active and fussy. If she does't want me to lay down, she moves around and kicks until I change positions. I have slept more in the recliner than on my bed this past week. I hope everyone is doing well. I am feeling more energetic as well and managed to clean the entire downstairs of the house. I hope on Wednesday I will finish the upstairs.

I will check in again later,
Racheal Matos

Good Morning Girls.....

Racheal- I'm so sorry to hear about your tooth... you poor thing. However, I'm glad that your doing better and off of the drugs. Keep eating and making Makayla happy. Also beautiful name.....

As for us we're doing good.. we went baby furniture shopping this past weekend. What a chore... thankfully we picked out the set we both like and we're going on the 18th w/ my parents to purchase it. Then all the fun starts... painting, putting border up, etc. We have also picked out our bedding.... here's a sample of it: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... age=search

Well hope you all have a great day!

GO BEARS

hi girls... hope that all is well..... i'm dealing with a nasty cold, just after my boys get better, i get it..... other then that, i'm ok... the doc said that they did not get the BW results back yet, so i'll try tomorrow to get the results... does everyone feel the baby or babies moving around... is it not the best feeling!!!

rachael- good to hear that you are doing better... it's too bad that you had to have all that pain!!! on a better note, i love the name makayla

tasha- the bedset looks cute... i love the colors.. what color are you planning on painting the room/?

kim- you are doing good on the weight thing considering there are two little ones in there... and i say eat the ice cream!! and i do love my doc.... sometimes he seems a little too proactive/cautious... but better safe then sorry... I honestly would love an appointment without a test, BW, or talking about some issues.... just go in, "baby looks good, see you in a few weeks"... but i guess that he's way is better in my situation and he's always looking for other signs or of things getting worse, or issues to address early, rather then later.. He is one that will take his time with you, even if he's running behind..

cowgirl- hope that things are going good for you too....

nance- just think... 10 days till your scan!!! hope that the time goes by so fast that it will only feel like a day or two has passed!!!

well, i hope that everyone is good... and takecare

Good Afternoon Girls...

Colleen- I think we're going to paint the room 1/2 cream & 1/2 green to match the bedding. Then we'll place the border in the middle to break up the two colors. I'm getting so excited....

Take Care!

Rachel--I'm glad you're feeling better! I love the name you've picked out. It's beautiful. I hope Makayla lets you start sleeping a little more...I can't wait to feel mine start kicking. Maybe they have already...I can't tell! :?

Tasha--I love the bedding you've picked out! Adorable! What color crib are you getting? If I knew I was having two girls, I would pick something very similar to that. Enjoy all the decorating!

Colleen--Good luck with your BW results tomorrow! I hope your cold gets better soon. ARe you doing anything special for the big game since your team's going to be there?

How's everyone else doing?

As for me, I'm fine. As I said earlier, I'm soooo anxious to start feeling the babies kick. I think I've felt at least one of them on my left side, but then again, it could be ligaments. My next appointment is in 2 weeks on the 13th--they should schedule my US then. I can't wait! It's been so long! We've also picked out our nursery theme. We're going all black/white--since we're keeping the sexes a secret. Here's a link: http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.a ... 2341|42343

We have white beadboard on the lower half of the walls already, so we're going to paint the top half a light taupe color. Then we're going to put black and white photos of grandparents and parents up on the walls in black and white frames with ribbons. I'm excited to see how it turns out--it's going to be really different!

Take care!
