Suga: Everyone has to make a decision they are comfortable with. I am not doing any tests b/c it would not make a decision on whether I carry the baby to full term, and frankly would just make me worry the whole time. My Ob did not mention genetic testing at all even though I had ICSI. If there is an issue that the u/s don't pick up on we will deal with it later.

Rio: So glad you had a good experience at the OBs! He is right our pg are even more special b/c of all the work we have had to put in to them!!!

Weezie: Sorry things are rocky still. I wouldn't make any life altering decisions with the hormones that might be playing on your mind though. Maybe ya'll should try some counseling, because you def. don't need someone mentioning the D word to you when you are so vulnerable!

Jomae: LOVE the pic - so cute.

Ugh ppl keep calling me and I must work :( Working from home can be a pain sometimes - but at least the bed is just meters away at al times :)

Take Care

Enjoy your mexican food!!!

Mia- Oh I wish I had a bed next to me! I am so sleepy! Glad everything is going so well with you!
Jomae - what a cute - cute little bean! Great pic!
Weezie - sorry you and DH are having trouble. Listen to Mia and don't do anything rash while you are super hormonal! I am really sorry that you have this added stress, I hope things work out between the two of you. How are you feeling?
Suga/Loopie - My OB said he recommends the genetic testing to anyone who is pregnant. Eventhough chances are low when you are young. My sister inlaw who is adopted has cerebral palsy and bothe her parents were 18 when she was born. But I agree with Mia that it is a very personal decision, it has nothing to do with having IVF or ICSI. It just has to do with what you are comfortable with.
Tammy- hope you are feeling better
I feel much better today and know in my heart we have a healthy baby who put on a show for us! :) I will post pics of him/her sucking a thumb!

rio - GREAT pictures! I can't believe how detailed they are. I can't wait for my big u/s on May 12th. I hope I see lots of detail too.

Katie - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I am glad you enjoyed your Mexican dinner. I have been craving spicy too. Yum! How sweet of DH to bring you flowers. What a great day.

sugabeanzs - My doctor gave me the option of opting out of the genetic screening too. I think I am going to do the second trimester blood screening but doubt I will do an amnio if there is a problem. The screen tests for more than just downs and it would just be nice to know if there was a problem we will have to deal with at birth. I think you just need to do what you feel comfortable with and what your gut tells you to do.

rio - I am so glad you had a good meeting with your ob. He/she sounds like a great doctor! I am glad your mind has been eased.

weezie - I agree with the others in saying not to make any really big decisions while you are pregnant. Your emotions are all over the place with all the hormones and there will always be time to make these decisions after the baby is born. At least DH is trying -in his own lame little way :)- and things could get better. Congrats on being discharged from the ivf clinic back to your regular ob! What a great feeling, huh? I am glad that your little beanie is doing well and that the lost twin is reabsorbing without any issues. I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy from here on out.

jomae- Cute picture! What a perfect little beanie!

I am finally over most of the m/s!!!!!!! It feels so good to want to eat vegetables again. I am going to try to start eating as healthy as I can from now on. I am so excited to be officiall in my second trimester!!!! Is anyone sporting a bump yet? I can't wait. My clothes are all tight and uncomfortable so I am actually going shopping for maternity clothes this weekend. I just want some pants that will get me through the rest of the cold weather. I am thinking that most of my spring/summer dresses and skirts will still fit since last time I wore them I was 45 pounds heavier.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Katie - Happy Birthday! :D Hope you have a wonderful day!

Gecko - My morning sickness is better, too. Isn't it nice to be hungry again w/o the accompanying nausea? :)

Weezie - I'm sorry you have all this extra stress. I hope you have a good support system and that you and your dh are able to talk things through.

I think Gecko asked about who is showing yet. Well, I don't have anything yet. My pants aren't even tight (well, no tighter than they already were  ) During a year of fertilitly treatments I went from a size 6 to a size 8, mostly b/c I had to stop distance running. So, a lot of my clothes haven't fit right in a long time. But I don't have a bump yet. I've lost 2 pounds so far due to just having so many food aversions. My dh, on the otherhand, has put on 5 pounds!

hi mommas!!!

woo hoo! it is the end of the week!!! so busy the past few days- on the bright side, M/S seems to have moved along. I went to Old Navy and got some great maternity pants - cheap and cute - i can still fit in some of my "regular" stuff, but decided to take the plunge and get the big-girl pants:shock: just a couple more days and i can shout it from the hills!!!! instead of just feeling fat!
apparently 11-12 weeks, your uterus shifts upward out of the pelvis- i think it started last night - i don't feel movement, just am a different shape in the belly than yesterday (I think)

weezie- how's it going? -what kind of car did you get? i do wish your dh would try a little bit harder to be good to you - this is the most amazing and unique event of your lives, and while every day need not be fluffy kittens and cupcakes, perhaps just being simple and calm could work for you. just sort of meditate and push the stress out
how's the weather down there? maybe a nice, long, silent walk could set the mood - oh i don't know- it just upsets me that things aren't relaxing for you and that there is fighting - guess i'm lucky to have a pretty chill hubby - only thing he gets upset about with me is that i'm not eating as healthily as i probably should (but that was due to M/S- mostly hee hee!)

joemae- nice pic! how are you feeling?

hey girls- did you see that KBEAR is 5 wks BFP!!!!! guess she'll be in the December mommies club hooray for kbear!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rio- how did the talk with SD go last night? did you tell her?

mellie- how are the food aversions and M/S? things should even out soon, how much weight do your docs suggest you gain? i don't think losing a little is a problem (wish i could) a size 6 - you're tiny!
i'm heavier than i'd like- after back surgery, I started to gain weight, and then, I assumed I would get pregnant so a pound or 2 didn't matter - then all of a sudden- I was about 14lbs over my good weight- and now with the BFP - docs say 25lbs and no more- so i think i'm ok so far!

katie- happy belated birthday! hope you had a great time

gecko- glad the m/s has gone- NICE!!! - yeah- go to old navy -big sale and cute stuff - i went to target because friends had told me their stuff was cute- boy was i disappointed! the pants looked like i had apples in my pockets and a gut, not a belly!!! also- if you feel like a splurge (my mom sent me some mad maternity money for this!!) check out www.isabellaoliver.com really amazing and versatile clothes that grow with you - a friend has a couple of pieces- and 3 mos postpartum, she's still wearing the jeans and tank b/c they are so comfy.

HOW ARE THE QUINTS???

corny, sug, tammy, everyone- feeling alright? bumpin' ?

:D :D :D
well- the pup has spoken - time to take him out!

nuchal on monday for me and tammy -

Loopie - You had back surgery? Hope all went well. I hear ya on being over your good weight. When I stopped distance running (b/c of treatments) I put on 8 pounds and what was formerly muscle all turned to fat. I didn't think I should diet while having treatment so I just bought new clothes a size bigger :D . I wish I were starting this pregnancy from my "good weight" (like you said) but it's a small concern really. Doc said to gain 20-30 lbs. She said gaining more than that will make the baby get bigger, too, and gaining too little could make the baby too small. Hope I can hit the right weight target! Food aversions and m/s are way better the last few days although I weighed this morning and I'm down 3 pounds. Probably not for long, though! DH and I are off to the Cold Stone Creamery today for my favorite ice cream! Yum! :D

Gecko - Congrats on being in your second trimester! I can't wait to join you! Glad to hear you're over your m/s, too. Let us know how maternity clothes shopping goes! Especially if you find a place with some good deals. I've heard maternity clothes can be kinda pricey.

Rio - Your baby pics are adorable! Hope all went well with your SD.

Hey girls everything has been pretty quiet lately here. I guess no news is good news!

To the girls doing Nuchal - good luck and hope your results are great, if they are not, remember the overwhelming number of "false positives" the age is a huge factor in this.

I am still going back and forth on doing amnio after my level 2 u/s or not. we'll see. I am posting the talk with SD on the other post but things went well thanks for asking!

Hope all is well and lots of healthy baby dust!!! I can't belive I am officially in my second trimester!

Hi all

I had my Nuchal test and blood screen stuff today- 4 hours!!! the day started by, locking myself out while walking the dog, and was nearly late for my appt, then a man who was in the waiting room verbally accosted me( long story short- he was talking loudly on his cell phone and could clearly see the "no Cell Phone" sign, and when I asked him to step out of the room....), so by the time I got into the genetic consultation, I was pretty stressed - then had about 1 1/2hrs of ultrasound - wow was my little bean on the move!!! kicking and spinning around, so they were having a very hard time getting just the right picture but saw feet and hands and heart and nose and brain and belly - I left the U/S room feeling really confident -now the news
downs - went from 1:80 to 1:1550 !!!! yay
trisomy - went from 1:150 to 1:122 boo
so I have scheduled an amnio for 4 weeks from now - still not sure about that-may end up changing my mind
If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with someone- dh or just a pal - it was just a bit more emotional than I had thought it would be.
thus, am now mentally exhausted, was sooo happy to pee -
on another bright note - get to stop my PIOs today- finally!!!!!70 shots later
 and just 1 more week of the crinone - I can't believe it- 3 months straight of shots in the belly and bumm - and finally i can stop hooray!!!!!!

ok- tired and need a big nap

hope you're all well- Tammy- hope your test went super

xx
