Sassy - I'm sorry you lost the twins but I'm so happy for you that your triplets are thriving. ]

Jomae - Hope the UTI goes away soon!

So, I'm going in for my nuchal tomorrow. Can you ladies tell me what to expect? Is it a vaginal u/s? Abdominal? Will I get to hear the heartbeat? Did the dr do it or a tech?

Mellie - good luck on your Nuchal tomorrow. The tech came in and did a belly ultrasound, you need to have your bladder full. She looked at the baby a ton and at my ovaries. After she was done, the doctor came in and looked for about 5 min. They try to take the measurement of the fold at the back of the baby's neck. THe baby moved aorund a lot and it was really fun to watch. If you did your blood test also, they probably will tell you the results of the combined Nuchal/blood right then. They look at Hcg levels and papp-a levels. The Nuchal measurement should be less than 3cm (I think). Keep us posted!

Sassy - It is so good to hear from you. I am sorry about your identical twins but am happy that the rest of your brood are doing well. I am sure it will be nice to be able to stay at home for the rest of your pregnancy instead of having to relocate to another city. Bed rest in 9 weeks? I am sorry about that, but the end result will be fabulous!

Jomae - Sorry the uti is still bugging you. Hope the antibiotics knock it out this time.

Mellie - Good luck tomorrow on the nuchal test. I am sure it will be wonderful to see your little bub on u/s. Keep us posted on the results.

Rio, Tammy, Loopie, Mbre, Katie, and Mia - How you girls feeling?

Loopie- are you going to do more testing?
Weezie let us know how you are doing!
Mellie - how was your Nuchal?

The nuchal went really well. Here are our results

hCG: 1.31 (70th%ile)
PPAPP-A: 0.60 (20th%ile)
Nuchal: 1.6
Nasal Bone: Present

Downs Risk: 1 in 1,359
Trisomy 18/13: 1 in 6,181

We're told that our odds are that of a 20 year old. We're so happy and relieved. I'm pretty tired. Had a bad dream and woke up super early and couldn't get back to sleep. I'm sure I was just anxious about this.

Hi Guys
Mellie glad your scan went well sounds like you've recieved a great result the dreams are weird aren't they i'm just glad i can go back to sleep you'll have to go to bed extra early tonight to catch up

hey Rio i wish i could be doing the nursery but our house should be built two or so weeks before bub is born so i'll have to wait although the builder is trying to delay our start date which will delay our finish time by one month so we'll be moving roughly two weeks after bub is here which will be fun seeing i have to have a ceasar .

Sorry have to run will finish shortly

Hey girls! I was reading through the posts and ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz I fell asleep! I can't wait for that boost of energy you are supposed to get in the second trimester.

Sassy: I am so happy that the three are thriving I know losing the twins is bitter sweet still. Yep triplets will be a breeze  Whne you are up all night feeding them just remember, it could have ben feedings x5!!!

Rio; glad you are doing well. Must be noce to have told everyone. We are still quiet - no one knows but the one person! By June everyone but my work will know!!

Jomae- ugh moving with a newbornd ugh ugh!! Sorry about that. But once you get settled in it will be nice to be in a new home! Hopefully you will have losts of help moving so your dh doesnt have to do everything.

Mellie: Good results!

Gecko: Any new news??? EVerything going smoothly?

Mbre: Soory about the bad m/s! the day difference is fine. DOnt worry. Are you feeling any better? I have lost weight b/c it is like my stomach has shrunk! I eat just a bit and I am full!

Katie: Wow cant believe you are finding out the sex already!!! That is great.

Well like i metioned I havent been eating much. Not sure how much I have lost, but I am hoping for that to change in the 2nd trimester. I am glad I am not showing yet b/c I have had a couple of interviews - one is at the college I teach part time at - so I cant even tell anyone at work! Will tell my family in May and then by June we will tell all of our friends. I cant wait! :0) I have another us at the end of this month :0) Maybe I will find out the sex?? Not sure if it is too early or not...

Hi Girls!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!
Mellie - Congrats on great Nuchal results! Are you also doing the AFP blood? I saw your results and they are not that different to mine (except for papp-a), hcg=1.21, NT=1.4cm, pappa= 0.31 I had just turned 37 that week and my Downs came out 1:193!!! That's quite the difference in results!
Jomae You are so brave to be moving with a newborn! Wow! How fun to have a brand new home!
Mia I wouldn't be able to hide my pregnancy if I wanted to right now with my buldge! Good luck on your interviews! Keep us posted!

I get an u/s next week - I hope I can find out the sex!!!!

Rio---I hope you are able to get a sex check that will be great. Im really excited to kow and i feel like this month is going to drag since I stare at the calander everyday.

It so weird having such a quiet board. I miss all our stories (the good ones of course) I hope everyone is doing well and staying relaxed. Me and DH were bickering all weekend. Nothing major just annoying eachother. Ok well hope all is well!!!!!

Hi Guys
we had our first hospital visit the midwife was lovely but i can't beleive they didn't even bother to check the heart rate to see if there was still a baby a bit upset about that but didn't worry as i had my nuchal test the next day which was today

Heres my results

Heart rate 158bpm ( high for a girl perhaps)
DOwns 1:609
Trisomy13/18 1:9835
Can anyone explain what this trisomy is a test for i haven't heard of it before my measurements basically came back at a 31year olds level which is a year younger than i am . Doc said it looks reasonable and he wouldn't be doing anything unless the number was below 300 so were happy with that
I was suprized at how quick he finished though i'm sure with ds it took at least 20mins plus this one must be a girl because the baby co operated and the scan was finished in under 10 mins. what was good when he first started i think we woke the poor bub as s/he was so still and then bam a 360 roll which was so cute. Anyone else's dh swear he knows the sex already my dh swears hes seen manly bits already not that that is possible but thats his theory.

Get this for a dream last night the night before the nuchal test i dreamt i had only half an hour to make a trip that takes us a good hour plus to go for the nuchal test and when i get in my car to go the road infront of the house turns into a major 4 lane road that was gridlocked and moving slowly as i get further down the road i realize i'm shuving my perce under a flap of skin on a cow and jumping on its back to make the long ride into town and even further into the dream i spend considerable time deciding if it was quicker to ride the train in or keep the cow. the real question should have been what the heck happened to my car and why a damn cow unbeleivqble hey it must be stress well thats what i'm blaming the weirdness on.

Anyone else have weird dreams to share well beat go
Hope your all well

hi all- just popping in for a quick post-
I have another OB appt today-it's been a month since the 1st, but with nuchal etc, I feel like i'm in every week!
I will ask about Trisomy test results as well as amnio- i'm still not sure what to do- I'm kind of positive that the bean is just fine, but there's that little bit that looms - i guess i'll get her opinion on it
cheers to you all

Hi girls!
Jomae- yes I have some crazy and vivid dreams that wake me up and then I can't go back to sleep. Crazy car chases, people from the past, everything!!! Downs is considered Trisomy 21, the other two: 13 and 18 are more serious and life threatening ones (from what I read - I am no doctor!). Here is an article of what that could be indicative of:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 001660.htm
Trisomy 18:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 001661.htm
Great news on your Nuchal!
Katie - I agree I miss the stories on this board, seems like we just got comfy in our pregnancies and don't post much anymore.
Loopie - I am with you! I also go back and forth on the issue and the more I read about the amnio, the more comfortable I am with the decision of doing it if we have to. We are doing the expanded AFP panel, then level II u/s and then we need to decide on the spot if we want to do an amnio! Hard choice! There is something to be said for knowing your baby is perfect and relaxing, or knowing what to be ready for. You hear cases of 1:10 chances with sfot markers on u/s and the baby being perfect, and you hear of 1:173 chances, no soft markers and baby being born with trisomy 21. So the problem with these screening tests are the high rate of false positives and false negatives. It is a very personal decision. If you do decide to do an amnio, read the comments on this board:
http://www.babycenter.com/viewComments. ... 7&ownerId=
It sure helped me put my mind at ease listening to so many experiences that were positive.
Anyone heard from Weezie?

Hi lady's---Im beyond lost on all those test results but I agree for peace of mind and maybe future studying purposes I would possibly do amnio if my doc suggested it.

I cant wait until I can feel bean move. I think that day will be amazing. What about yall? I hope its in the next month to month in a half. I've head from 18-25 weeks.

Rio--28th is coming quick I hope you are able to see if its boy/girl.

Loopie have a good appt today.

hi girls
good to see some movement on the boards i just think everyone is settleing in i'm sure the boards will perk up when people start feeling those bubs move

Katie i think i was 21weeks with ds before i realized it was him moving i think the first few times you don't really realize you can actually feel them moving but as they get stronger and more frequent you certainly know whith ds later into the pregnancy i could hold his foot he it would stick out that far and rub and pat his little bum he was a super long baby so there always seem to be some body part sticking out its a freaky thing to watch though seeing your body going in all different directions its like something you would see on the poltergiest

Anyone having strong feelings on what you are having i find myself refereing to our bub as a she or her and it's hard to think of her as a boy i wonder if its mothers intuition or just a mind game i know i had the same with ds it was so easy to think of him as a boy but had to really focuss on thinking of him as a girl and we ended up with our little man

thanks rio for the site to look up ill check it out soon i'm sorry you and loopie have the extra worry of the nuchal test i received a 1:609 result and although i said in a previuos post i wouldn't worry about it i cant help but noticeing i am i think i would be going mental if my results were lower so i'm sendind you both some good thoughts.

anyway best go brekky time oh as for my uti had to go back to the doctors yesterday to get different antibiotics other ones not right this time either

Take care chat soon
