Hello Girls-

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you..... talk about a crazy weekend. Well I had my appointment on Saturday morning and I was dialted at 2-3cm and 70% effaced. My BP was high so the doctor decided to induce me... he sent me straight to the hospital at 10:00am. I first had to stop at home to get my bag and then we headed straight to the hospital... we arrived at 11:30am. They then admitted me and started me on an IV & Patocin (sp)... I was having contractions, but nothing to serious. My doctor was then going to break my water at 5:30pm, but he had a serious patient to care for so he didn't end up breaking my water until 11:15pm. Thankfully I was given my epidural at 5:15pm so I wasn't in any pain. After he broke my water I was good until about 5:00am when I was dilated at 9cm. They caled my doctor to let him know and he said he'd be there in about an hour... At about 6:30am I started feeling a ton of pressure (her head) and was having the urge to push - so they told me I could lightly push when I had a contraction to help bring her head down. I then went into active labor (pushing) at 7:35am and Aubrey Katherine Hook was born at 7:50am May 27, 2007. She was 7lbs. 1oz. & 21 inches long. She is adorable... I'll post a few pictures later today.

Colleen- I'm so happy for you and your family. I wish I would have known your last name so that I could have come by to visit yu in the hospital (since we were there at the same time). We actually got discharged yesterday at 9:30pm - Aubrey had to have an EKG since they noticed a small heart murmur, but it turned out to be nothing serious, thankfully.

I'm sorry this is so long... I'll log on later to do personals!

Tasha

CONGRATULATIONS TASHA AND FAMILY! I hope you are all doing well. I can't get through reading your posts without crying because I am so happy for you and can't wait for the rest of us to join you. Please posts some pictures when you get a chance.

Rachael - I'm glad your DH is liking his job. I'm sorry you are so tired and swollen but that will get better before you know it.

Cowgirl - I definetly think you are next. Are your contractions back? When is your next Dr's visit?

Kim - How are you feeling today?

Casey - I'll make sure I cross everything that your baby turns around. I'm sure it will happen. I like Kim's idea about the music. It is worth a try. Thank goodness that your blood test came back that you are immune. That must be a load off of your mind.

Colleen - Let us know how you and Gavin are doing? How was your first night home?

As for me I am doing fine. Only two more days of work and I am done. I can't wait. They are driving me crazy but everytime it starts to get to me I just count the hours and I am happy again. Nothing much to report on the baby frount. I have an appointment with my Dr. on Tuesday. It is my first internal so I guess I will know more at that point. I read that women usually have a Strep B test around now. Did any of you have that? My Dr. has not mentioned it. I guess I'll ask him on Tuesday. My DH has almost finished painting the nursery. He should be finished by Saturday which is great timing being the furniture is being delivered on Monday.

All my best to everyone!!!!!

xoxo

Hey gals!

Tasha and Colleen--How are the babies? Are you adjusting to life at home with your new additions!? I think it's neat that you two were in the same hospital giving birth around the same time. How neat!

Nance--I'm doing fine. I actually went over to school for an hour this afternoon to help my sub with details about how to "pack up" my classroom at the end of the year. I didn't do much physical labor, but boy am I tired! I'm sorry that work has been annoying, but you've got to feel good about only having 2 days left! Yippee! About the Strep test, I just had mine yesterday. They'll probably do yours on Tuesday when they do the internal. It's not a big deal.

cowgirl--I hope you ARE next! I just hope you can hold out until the 6th, so your insurance will work out. I would LOVE to be able to make it to 37 weeks...then it would most likely be a scheduled section. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!

Racheal--Thanks for the info about the section! I hadn't heard about the infection chances. I had only read that it's good for babies to actually go "into labor" to help make sure they are actually ready to be born...We'll see what ends up happening! I'm glad DH seems to like his job. That's great news! You deserve great news! By the way, enjoy your shower this weekend!

I hope everyone else is doing well! Hugs to your bellies!

Okay ladies sorry if I am posting too much. Its now almost 6am and my contractions haven't really started on their own. They are going to start Pitocin at 6:30. I have really tried to sleep but its hard enough to sleep being so large, but impossible with all this stuff hooked up to me and this bed is really hard. I would have tried walking more but with my water broken it is very difficult to do it comfortable because of obvious reasons. My husband is sound asleep in this recliner chair and my Mother-in-law is trying to get comfortable enough to catch some z's but it doesn't look like she is having much luck. She came with us because my daughter who originally planned to be here went to my sister's in CO with my mom and planned to be back on Monday in time for the induction. Having her will be good cause she is massage theripist and patient. :-) My husband smokes so that will also help when he goes out for that, not that he will go but he is very excited. Well I have rambled enough. I hope to be back on later with good news.

hi girls...

cowgirl- i hope that you are well, and the baby is or will be here soon!! we'll say a prayer for a fast and easy delivery!!!

tasha- congrats- i thought about the same thing on monday when we went in... i do not know your last name... i was stuck in my room because of the meds i was on...

Kim- you are coming up soon... hope that you and the little ones are well

rachael- good to hear that DH got a job... not too longer for you also!!

Ellie, nance and casy- hope that you three are doing great.. your turn in right around the corner, we'll all have to meet on the other side when you guys are done having your little ones..

as for us... we are good... my milk finally came in and gavin is doing well.. we were back at the hospital yesterday for him to have blood work, for jaundice... but he's ok...

i'll give you a little on my L&D... we were going to go in on tuesday, but water started to leak on monday... no big contractions, but went in... my BP was AWEFUL and labs were really bad , and they were reeally afraid that i was going to have a seizer (<sp) so they started magnesium sulfate.. and let me tell you YUCK YUCK YUCK... then they need to start pitocin, because mag stops contractions.... it was so crazy fast... because 2 hours from the start we were ready to push.. my doc was at another hospital, and rushing over, and finally got there and 2 pushes out was Gavin... so it was REALLY REALLY REALLY FAST!!! and the best part is not taring or episo... Gavin is a little brused from coming so fast, but he's great and a good nurser from the start... which they said that the mag can make them sleeply, but he was only on it for a very little while..

I was on the mag for 12 hours after delievery and could not be alone with the baby, but was the room next to the special needs nursery, because the mag can make you pass out... so we were at the hospital for the full 48 hours after birth ,because or the mag and the US stuff... but he checked out HEALTHY and BIG!!!!

after i post this i'm going to try and get a photo on the bucket...we'll see if i can do that befor he wakes up...

so i wish everyone a speedy and the least paqinfull as possible... we'll try and check in later to see if cowgirl had the baby!!!

Holy cow!

I hadn't checked in yet today, and I am SHOCKED     ! Cowgirl....how are you? Is baby here yet? I hope everything went well and baby's healthy. Update us when you get a chance.

Colleen--Your delivery sounded quite hectic...whew! I'm glad all went well. Good for Gavin to be nursing well already. By the way, I LOVE the name Gavin. My DH heard the name and he's digging it now.....oh boy! Take care of yourself and keep us posted. I love hearing about the babies! I'll check the bucket later to see if you've posted a pic.

Tasha--How's Aubrey? How are you? I hope all's well!

I went for another NST today, and things are looking good. They gave me a 3 day pass for now....I have my last U/S on Monday, another NST on Tuesday, and an exam on Tuesday....so I'm betting that we'll have a date for a section scheduled by Tuesday afternoon. After today's NST, I had a massage and pedicure...oh, HEAVEN!!!!! I could handle having all that pampering done every day!

I hope everyone else is well. I'll check in later to see if cowgirl had her bub.
