SD: It feels like these meds have me on an emotional roller coaster! Yesterday I was a mess, today I'm good and calm!

turtle! Glad you got your call already! I'm sorry you may have to stim longer. I am pretty sure I will be, too. I thought my ER would be 5/13, sut the nurse said this morning I will probably be stimming until near the end of next week. So we are in the same situation. They haven't given me an LH level, just my estrogen, and they have been increasing my dosage considerably to get my E2 up. What are you taking? Strange how you go in every few days, and I have been in every day since Sunday. But I will be right here to go through this with you. I have no doubt we can get through this!

Jharris –Thanks for being there with me. We will get through this. It will just take us a little longer :) I am taking 5 units of lupron and 150 of Gonal f in the morning, and 75 Gonal f and 1 vial of menopur at night. The menopur has 75 of fsh and 75 of lh in it. It is weird how different our doctors are for going in. I don't know which is better, only a few sticks but lots of waiting or lots of stick and knowing everyday your levels. Either way I think we are going to worry. I am so glad I found this board to talk all this out. My husband is glad too  He is not real good with the emotional stuff and I am definitely emotional lately. Good luck on your number too.

Turtles: I started out taking 150 Gonal-f, 2.5 of Lupron, and 10 of a low dose Ovidrel. And when I went in my my E2 was only like 92, they upped it my Gonal-f 300, then to 400, and now I'm taking 450 IU's!! And I actually just got my message for today (It came early today!) My E2 was 1007, and they want me to increase my dosage to 600IU's of Gonal-f!!! Can you OD on this stuff??!! And I have to go back again tomorrow (7 days in a row now) for BW & US! Plus the pharmacy called me with my new prescription for more Gonal. So there went another $1434. Not to mention the gas money to this place everyday! They are killing me! :D And on top of that, they said to increase my dose tonight to 600, but I only have a little less than 500 left at home, which is why I told them I needed a refill! Now I am waiting for the nurse to call me back. This is where you have the upper hand. At least when she calls you, you have her on the phone to ask questions. I have to call, leave a message, and hope she calls back!

Hey jharris - Glad you got your call early before they closed. Wow, 600  That is a lot of hormones running through you. Make sure you warn your husband  My DH has already made me cry today. He was going on about how much IVF cost and how it should be lower since they have been doing it for 30 years. I just burst into tears and couldn't stop for awhile. I do feel better now. Good stress release I guess. He was sorry for making me cry, he said he wasn't complaining, but does he have to keep harping on the cost :x

Are you using the gonal-f pens? The nurse showed me how you can get more out of them. The pens will stop after the last dose they are suppose to have. They do overfill them and I was able to stick a needle into the pen and get out a dose of 75 out of the 300 IU pen.

How far away are you from your doctor. Mine is about 30 min. away. Not too bad. How many follies did they see? how big were they. Hope you get your meds settled.

Turtles, I am using the Gonal pen. I will have to try and get more out of them from now on! They leave that little detail out! The nurse called, they are going to have me a 300 pen at the desk to stop and pick up on the way home. It's not really ON the way home, but it will be today!! Their office is about 45 minutes from my house, which I have heard plenty have it worse! But when gas is as high as it has been lately, it doesn't take much to make it an expensive trip! I didn't have an US today, I get one tomorrow. But yesterday they saw 3 follies on the right, and 5 or 6 small ones on my left. I guess we will see how tomorrow goes!

Jharris - I noticed when I had a multi-dose vial that I got extra dose out of it. Then they gave me pens. If you look at the fine print on the pen itself it says "Contains 415IU to deliver 300IU" or whatever size pen you have. I guess they do that in case you lose some when you are priming it. Hope you have some extra needles and syringes. My doc's office gave me a lot of extras.

Sounds like we are the same on follies too. Just opposite sides. I just got an email from my sister-in-law who keeps saying I am having multiples. I told her I had 8 follies and she emailed back "8 * 4 = 32 Wow" She is a nut.

Hi all,

So I know I am a little late posting on this cycle but thought I could use a little outside support on our first try. Im 25 and dh is 26, I went through all the stim and lupron the past 2 weeks, we had our ER today (5/9) we recieved the news before we left that they got 10 embies, now its just the wait and see on how many fertilize by tomorrow, then ET will be either 5/12 (my birthday!!!!) or 5/14. They now have me on Estrace, and Progesterone suppositories.. anyone else ever do these 2 after ER?

any advice for a new comer to this whole thing would be great!!

I think everybody does estrace and progesterone, either by suppositories or shots, after ER. Good Luck!

U/S coming up.

Post by mjwilliams »

Hi to all of you. We (Michelle and I) are really glad to see all the BFP's on this thread, its out of this world. I (Joe) haven't posted alot, but have lurked here and there on the thread showing my DW what is going on. It is so nice to see all are doing well as can be expected. Next Tuesday we go in for our first U/S at 7 weeks. My DW thinks we have twins going on as we have had no signs to say otherwise. We did a 3dt with 2 healthy eggs on April 11th and no frosties :( .

JesJes, how are you guys doing? I hope all is well. :D

Dri-Jim, I saw you went of to the Netherlands for a business trip, hope all is well your way. 8)

Courtney, 365 beta, awesome we had a 369 14 days after ER and a 1107 2 days later. We need to compare notes. We would love to have twins.

Sameera, 506 beta, and a U/S coming soon? I am thinking trips for you and your DH. :P

I am thinking of starting a "Golden Girls" thread for this group, if anyone is interested. I think all you ladies deserve the light..... as you all are "Gold"

Take care and baby dust is reigning from above to all.

Joe

Hey all,

I really hope that I can join the golden girls thread someday! I think its a great idea and hope you can really stick together through the pregnancy- wouldn't it be cool to be able to exchange baby pics!?

Well, I think I'm gonna sign off over here and move over to the May/June said now (i've been posting over there since things slowed down over here....all you preggers people resting :) )

I really hope to be reunited again soon over on the golden girls thread and will definitely lurk into see you over there! Take care and thanks for all the support!

Good Saturday yall!!
DH and I decided to celebrate last night...we spent the afternoon together and went to see Ironman (I like action flicks, and it was pretty darn good!)
I am a dentist, and I was actually still seeing patients when I got the call, I broke down crying and had to fix my mascara before going back to work!
We have told our parents and a few close friends...we know its still very early but I have total faith in God and I know He will take care of me!
My next beta is Tuesday, I'm praying the levels keep going up!

Thank you all for the well wishes, and I am praying for each and every one of yall to get a BFP too!

sdtrying- best of luck for your ET! my advice is to lay low for a few days if possible and get DH to totally baby you!

wannalewisbaby- good luck for your ET too; I had ET on 4/25 and I just got a BFP on 5/9, my 1st cycle. I am on vivelle patch and PIO shots....for another 8 weeks atleast! I used bravelle & menopur too, and had good results; take it easy after ET and don't try to exert yourself too much.

jharris and turtle- keep going with the stims! when are yalls ER? we transferred two 3 day embies, grade A. Guess one(or both) stuck! I was in shock when the nurse said my beta was 900; she said that was 'very good'.

well, off to go make breakfast...my tummy is rumbling!
God Bless you all!

What a difference a day makes! So 2 days ago, my E2 was 856 and I had 7 follies all under 13, they upped my Gonal dosage to 600, and my E2 yesterday was 1007. They kept me on 600 last night, and I went in this morning, my E2 is now 1928  and now my 7 follicles are between 16 and 20, and I have 4 more follies just under 10! The nurse said based on my follicle size, I should only be stimming another day or 2!! So it looks like I am still on schedule for ER Tues or Wed!! Thank you all for all your words of encouragement and prayers, they really worked wonders! OK, I will send personals a little later. Thanks again, and I hope you are all doing fantastic!
