Hi ladies!
Whew! I finally get a few minutes to post personals while eating lunch!
***warning! pregnancy-related discussion below***
Becky,
Oh my sweet friend, don't you DARE feel bad about whining because you're pregnant! That first trimester phase is no fun with the nausea and the fatigue... the weeks just seem to draaaaaaaaaaaag and take forever to pass, but they do! Gee, I remember walking home on Fridays from the train station and feeling so tired and icky that I had teary eyes and thought I would literally fall on someone's lawn and pass out. If you can, do modify your work schedule and you're right; taking as much rest as possible really makes a HUGE difference. I also started taking Diclectin at week 6, an anti-nausea pill especially designed for pregnant women (it's mostly vitamins and minerals so it's very safe; my father's wife too it all the way through her three pregnancies and my sisters and brother are healthy and super!). It literally saved my life. At some point, I was writing reports in the nursing area with a vomit bowl on my knees! That was the red flag for me. I hope you can find a solution that eases the symptoms! *HUGS* Sending you lots of good vibes... and do put that hubby-bubby to work! Remember your princess status!

Your scan is indeed ages away, wow, I can't wait to know how many you're having! *jumps up and down*
oh and by the way, I remained friends with Angela (arizonakiwi) and she's absolutely thrilled by the news of your pregnancy!

*hugs*
***end of warning***
Okay, Becky, great discussion idea, WHAT SHOULD WE GET OUR DHS FOR XMAS?
Last year, I got him snowshoes because he loves to walk the dogs in the forest all year long and towards the end of December the snow is really too deep. This year, I have no idea! Here are the things I gave him before..
-expresso machine (eh, he's French!)
-wireless headphones (good for my own sanity!)
- The Hitchkock DVD collection
- Part of the Scorcese DVD collection
This year I think we'll go for smaller gifts; we spent a lot of money on all the big renovations we did for the house. He always uses an annoying mini flashlight to read in early morning when I'm still sleeping. I'm sure he would enjoy a reading light that's especially designed for that. And, let's face it, he wouldn't have to put it on his chest and bend his neck in a weird position to light the pages correctly!

Also, I'd like to get us a Brain Age from Nintendo, as much for him as for me given that, it's true, the brain starts deteriorating from the age of 30. Personally, I like puzzles and he does too; I could use it on the train too. I guess if I say it's for both of us, he won't take it badly!
Carolyn,
Hope you're holding up with the busy week!

The Xmas market sounds like a lot of fun!!! I really wonder if we have that in Montreal.. hum, should check. I remember the Xmas market at my husband's hometown in France, it was magical! We ate chocolate crepes in the street while looking at all the cute stuff that was on display... *sigh* wish we were there again this year... I see I found another cook on the board! Super! maybe we can share recipes?

Looks like you'll be our IVF Globetrotter this weekend! Oooh I can't wait to hear about how it went at both clinics!

:D:D
Angie,
Hi there girl!

Yup, good weekend catching up on Desperate Housewives! The season is over now, and I'm curious about the 5 years later glimpses they showed at the end. But I guess I'll have to wait another year before this season's DVDs are out. I think that's one of the reasons why DH keeps watching them with me; we take huge breaks between seasons so we're never overloaded!

Can't wait to see tonight's episode of House though! squeeeeeee! It's great to have news sweetie, how are you doing? And how is DH? *hugs* hang in there, the break is just around the corner!
Miracle,
You should really be ashamed, posting long posts like that... shame shame shame!

Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend!!!! Ooooh I hope you'll post pictures of your decorations on your MySpace page!

with the doggies! I know, I still have to post mine.... but just you wait!

I couldn't help but go aaaaaaaawwwwwwwww at your mention of the doggie cookies! I think I'll bake some for the doggies (I have great recipes), decorate them and put them in a box under the tree just for the kick of unwrapping them some presents at Xmas! Plus I'll buy them two toys to chew on. They'll probably be eviscerated by the end of the evening, but eh!

LOl I remember sewing the belly of a Shrek dog toy FOUR times before I gave up... we'd come back from work and there would be stuffing all over the house, LOL!
So sorry you're sick sweetheart!

Is it the flu? Stomach? I'm sending you lots of virtual chicken soup and good vibes hun! *HUGS* I'll be thinking of you and I hope DH pampers you big time!
Angel,
It's great to have news dear. We've missed you so much! *hugs* I'm absolutely delighted to hear that the support of those around you brought some soothing through the pain, and some smiles through the tears. This is so important in moments like the one you're going through! I'm really sorry to hear about your boss' attitude... some people just don't get it, or are far too self-centered to consider people's feelings or just their rhythm. You're back, you should be a 100% back! Well, it doesn't always work that way! *hugs* Moan all you want sweetheart, we're here for that too! I hope things get better real soon!
As for me, I had a strange weekend. Turns out we couldn't find a pension for the dogs, so I made the dreaded call and my father refused to let us come with the dogs. It's almost better that way, because I'd prefer he was honest with us instead of saying yes and complaining to the family behind our backs. It was VERY complicated to arrange the Holidays schedule though. We finally settled on us going to Quebec city from the 31st to the 2nd and celebrate the New Year there. I was quite affected by the whole thing because some people made it difficult, my DH among them. It was really weird to make all those phone calls while decorating the Xmas tree, having a hard time finding dates that pleased everybody when it fact it could have been so simple to just be together. The two activities just clashed...
I've been used to celebrating on the evenings of the 24th and the 25th with family members and it will be the very first time in 30 years I'm on my own with DH for the two nights. Fortunately, my belgian grandparents are supposed to come for a meal, so I'll offer them to come for a Xmas lunch at noon on the 25th. One of my friends, whom I met on this thread, lives in NZ and she told me one of her fondest memories is celebrating Xmas with her husband and doing all those romantic dinners and fun activities together. I think I'll do just that!
Okay, I've babbled enough; I have tons of phone calls to make! Take care ladies, and I'll see you around!
Love,
Sophie xxox
