Hello Again!

Kim - I have had three C-Sections as of now and each doctor was different. My current doctor has allowed me to drive as soon as I was off the Vicadin and the IBprufen. I stopped all of those about a 10 days after I had Makayla. I went for my two week check up today and she told me I am free to do as I wish (except for swimming and bathing) from here on out as long as I am comfortable. Now, my other C-Sections I had to wait for six weeks or more. It is dependent on your doctor and your state requirements. I am glad you are doing well with the babes. Keep up the hard work!

Thook - I know what you mean by the work. Of course I had some idea as this is not my first, but I am amazed at how quickly the day passes. I am constantly going and next thing I know it is 9:00 pm and Makayla is sleeping. At that point I have no choice but to go to sleep.

Jeck - I am praying hard that you Jaden comes home soon. He is so very adorable! I hope we can come and met you and Jaden on your return home trip since we are finally out of the woods. I have truely hated missing you these last few times. Keep us posted on your progress!

Angelica - Hang in there! I know it is harder and harder as your get closer and closer to the end. It is best for all if he makes it to term. Trust me, it would hurt you more if you were discharged without him and had to leave him at the hospital. I am praying for your safe delivery.

Nicola - I noticed your name changed. I hope you are well and that your little one arrives safely and quickly.

Ellie - I hope you are also well. I bet the weather is wonderful right now. How is the house coming?

CasyP - I know you are getting close. I hope DD is getting ready for your arrival. She will once the baby is here. They all seem to do okay as long as they are involved. Find her a piece she can do to help with the baby and she will fall into the maturnal instinct thing that is so common with girls. Good luck and keep us posted.

As for us, Makayla is getting big. She weighed 7lbs 5 oz at her two week check up. She had a really bad night last night, but it seems to be gas related as she was fussy until an hour ago when she let out some really big ones from both ends. Now she is finally sleeping steady and I am able to get some things done. I hope you are all well and soon we will be moving over to the parents after treatment side (once all of us have delivered)!

Hi gals!

Glad to hear that you are doing well! Racheal, thanks for the info. I don't go to my doc until next week. I guess I'll hold off on driving until then.

For you gals who are already at your prepregnancy weight, hooray!!! I've slimmed down a ton--thanks to bfing...but I'm not mentally ready to step on a scale just yet. I bet I still have 15-20 pounds to go.

The twins went for their 2 week checkup today and they did great!!!! Both babies have gained about a pound since last week. Braeden is 5 pounds 14 oz., and Ellie is 6 pounds, 2 oz. Yeah!!! They're growing like weeds. The doc wants them to stay on supplements until I can make enough breast milk. So, I'm trying to pump after each meal, so I can increase my supply. We'll see how that goes.

I think of you gals often. I hope all is well. Nance, I can't wait to hear about Lilly. Post when you have time!

Hello all.
Angellica so sorry to hear you are having a difficult time, i hope you can make it to 38 weeks like the doc wants. Are you still in hospital? Just think not long and Roman will be with you.
Jeck i have checked out Jaden's pictures what a cutie hoping he comes home soon.
Nance congratulations on Lilly what a beautiful name you must be so happy.
Cmoscar glad to hear that Makayla is growing well everyone is doing well with feeding and the little summer babies are growing nicely.
As for me i had a scan yesterday and Isabella is still breech in fact her head is right at the top now rather than to the side a little. My doc wasn't that concerned and i don't have another appointment with him until i am 38 weeks! I guess i will be seing more of the midwife. It is so hot here and reaches 35 in the shade most days. I find myself in front of a fan after my lunch and dont move until it begins to cool at about 7.00ish. Our new part of the house seems to be coming a long quickly, hopefully we wont be to long. That is as long as we don't get stopped again!!!!!
Anyway i am going to have my tea so take all thinking of you.

hi girls... not much activity here i guess.... i had to scroll way down to find us

ellie- good to hear that things are going well with the house... and too bad isabella is breech... there is still time for her to turn.. if she does not turn, do you need a c-section?? maye she'll turn by your next appointment... try talking to her... bribe her to turn.. take care in the heat and drink plenty of water

kim- hope that things are going well with the two littlw ones.... they are growing good... keep up the good work..hope the pumping has done the trick to pick up your milk... it should work well... do not worry about the weight thing you had the most to gain because of your two little ones.. i have not weighed.. i'm just going on how i feel and fit into my cloths.. i'm not one to weigh alot..

rachael- hope that makayla is doing good, and free of gass.. Gavin has bad gas all the time and sometimes cries and cries.... it's hard, and i've been using gass drops latly which seems to help a LITTLE.. i'm still fighting with him yo go back to sleep in the middle of the night.. we were up over 3 hours last night... he's just wide awake and wants to be up at 2:00am...

tasha- well what did she weigh in at ?? she still doing good with the formula? have to cut anymore pumping out? i can not beleive that 5 weeks have passed and Gavin is getting so big... he has his one month this week...we'll see how it goes...

as for us we are doing well... Gavin is getting bigger by the feeding and is rolling over...( i think because of his budda belly) we are out of most of the 0-3 cloths... i think that he's 11lbs... i was going to weigh him today (i have a baby scale)
as for the other two boys... we have had a better couple of days... i started the reward charts again.... they earn checks and can cash them in for and good things.. like an extra book at bed, 15mins to stay up late, or one on one time with mom or dad... if they earn so many they get to have a camp out with dad (which is mostly for mom).. so we do not use toys or money for rewards, just good things (and they enjoy it just the same) that they picked as their rewards...

so today we are going to DH's work to have lunch, yet another place to take the kids, so they are not stuck in the house.. . i think that they are sick of being in the house... my 3YO has a short attention span and i'm always looking for things to do...

well... look forward to hearing about the next babies to join our summer group... take care everyone!!

Hello Girls... I have a few minutes to type as Aubrey is napping right now. We just got back from a fun filled day at Lincoln Park Zoo w/ some of my cousins and their kids - although Aubrey slept through most of the zoo it was nice to get out and have some adult time.

Well our little one is doing great... I can't believe she is going to be 6 weeks old this weekend - time is just flying by. She weighed in at 9 lbs and measured 21 3/4 inches at her 1 month check-up last Friday morning. She's getting big.... and it's so cute. She's still eating really well and sleeping really well too. Right now we're on 1 1/2 ounces of formula plus 2 1/2 ounces of breast milk at each feeding... we upgrade to 2 ounces of formula tomorrow. I have noticed she is more gassy on formula, but not to bad.... and I'm completely done w/ pumping - my milk supply actually dried up fast.... although I still have enough milk to last another 2-3 weeks.

Well I'm glad to hear everyone is doing great... anyone have any big plans for the 4th of July? I'm still tossing around the idea of taking Aubrey to fireworks - my cousins say to do it so she gets used to it... but we'll see.

Well take care everyone and I'll try and check in soon.

Tasha

Hello Everyone!

It sounds like we are all busy! I know I have been. Makayla is doing okay. We have our fingers crossed right now because she slept well last night and we are hoping she will sleep well again tonight. She is still having the bouts of colic (the doctor said he is sure this is what it is). They are happening during the day and at night, but we are trying a new thing right now that seems to be working. She are giving her a bath in the Johnson & Johnson Bedtime wash and then giving her a 10 minute massage with the bedtime lotion about 30 minutes before her bedtime feeding. Then we feed her really good, turn on the crib vibrator and the heartbeat sounds and put her down. We are getting about 4 hours out of that (for the day we have done this). Then she gets up, we change her and feed her in the dark and without talking to her. Then we start the vibrations and heartbeats again and put her down. We got 3 hours spurts from this part. I am praying it continues to work. Her gassiness is still there, but she is more relaxed and not in so much pain.

Kim - I hope your OB lets you drive. Like you, I feel really good. I am still bleeding, but it is like a really mild period (no real cramping to speak of). I was wondering how you handle your nights. Does DH help you by taking on babe or are you just staggering them? See I do not bother DH with Makayla since he is working, but now I am getting really tired because I chase the boys all day and stay up with Makayla at night. I feel guilty asking DH to help out.

Tasha - It sounds like Aubrey is doing great. I can really relate to time flying though. I cannot believe Makayla is three weeks old already. It seems like yesterday we were all aching and wishing the babies would hurry up and arrive. Enjoy your 4th of July. We are probably going to hang out and sleep when Makayla does! As for the fireworks, we are taking the boys and thus, Makayla will go too. She won't understand them or really be able to see them, but it is a nice normal activity and can make you feel more adult.

Colleen - Gavin is a really big boy! I am glad to hear he is well. I love a happy fat baby. Makayla is still pretty small, but she is starting to put on some fat and I hope her chipmunk cheeks will start purking up!

For those who still have the buns in the oven, keep safe and calm. We are all excited and looking forward to you safe delivery.

God Bless all!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not checked in but the last two weeks have been a whirlwind (as I am sure you all know). Lily is doing well. She finally started gaining weight and is now up from 6lbs 4onz to 6lbs 14onz. She is somewhat colicy and does not sleep for more than 3 hrs at a shot. I think it is because she if very gassy and her digestive system is still trying to figure out how to work. My DH goes back to work next Monday so hopefully she will be sleeping a little more by then.

Nic4 - I am sorry to hear about your scare. I hope you are feeling a little bit better now that you are home. I'll say a prayer that you get better soon.

Cmoscar - I hope Makayla starts to settle into a good sleeping schedule for you. I might try your technique. Maybe it would settle Lily down also. I hope you are feeling well.

Tasha - I can't wait to take lily to the zoo also. You must have had fun. Did you take any pictures? Your little angel sounds like she is doing great. God bless her. 9lbs is such a big girl. I am also doing a combo of formula and breast milk. We have no plans for the 4th. Just going to watch the fireworks show on TV and try to get some rest.

Kim - Poor Braeden. I know exactly how you feel. Lily has the same problem on and off for the last few days. My Dr. also told me not to worry. But it is so hard not to when they look like they are in such pain. I will say a poopie prayer for Braeden. I sometimes just rub Lily's belly and move her legs in a bicycle motion for a little while. I don't know if it actually helps but at least I feel as if I am doing something for her. I'm glad Ellie is not as gassy.

Colleen - Wow, what a big healthy boy you've got. Let us know how the gas drops work out. I hope you and your family are doing well and enjoy your day out.

For all those still waiting for their little ones to arive I will be praying for you.

I am going to try to post some pictures today on photobucket.

Have a great 4th everyone.

All my best,
Nance

hi girls... for those of you with poop-less babies... try taking their temp, down there... if they are on bottles you can try adding kayro syrup, ask your doc.. and then just sitting their bottom in warm water for as long as they will take it....moving their legs and rubbing their belly (only CLOCKWISE!!!! because that is the direction of the intestines)

our last DS was VERY constipated, and went weeks without pooping.. we had to do all the above and give him supositories every few days... he's track is still sensitive and we need to make sure he gets his fruits and veggies..., and started prunes and juice really early on.

try the temp thing.... it's kind of gross, but usually work, and works quick!!

hope these ideas help

Yeah--We have POOP!!!

Thanks to all you gals who gave advice...I've also been trying to drink more water and eat more fruit. Seems to have helped. I honestly think my iron supplements might be to blame. I go to the OB tomorrow, so I'm giong to see if he'll take me off them.

Happy 4th to all of you gals in the states! I'm off to veg in front of the tv before I have to wake the kiddos again for some play time (i.e. wear them out time...) before our last feeding. I would love to go catch some fireworks, but no such luck this year!

Hello Girls!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We did. Makayla is still very colicy and we have another appointment with the pediatrician Monday to discuss a treatment plan. In the meantime we had started trying a new medicine. It seems to help more than the gas drops. It is called Gripe Water. It is a very old remedy and we have been informed by the pediatrician, a very effective one. We will see. We are not going on week 2 of very little sleep. She is crying out in pain throughout the day and night and she is showing signs of exhaustion as well. The pediatrician is telling us if this does not work he will perscribe something to help her out. We are hoping to avoid this because there are other side effects to those.

Kim - I am glad you little ones are finally relieved. I have not had much experience with that. Makayla's tract is working overtime (a symptom of the colic) and hers is about every hour or so. I hope your babes continue to do well.

Nance - I hope Lily is sleeping better. I know how you feel. With DH working, I am burdened with all the sleepless days and nights!

I will write again later! Love to all!

Hi All,

I hope all is well with everyone. I only have a minute to post before "Little Miss Fussy Pants" (which is now her official nickname  ) starts to stir.

Kim - I am so happy that you got some Poop! It is scarry how quickly our happiness depends on the bowel movements of our babies. I hope the poop keeps on coming for you guys.

Cmoscar - I am so sorry that Makayla is so colicy. You feel so bad for them... and for you. I have heard great things about the Gripe Water and hopefully it will work for you guys. Let us know. I'm a little less tired today because my DH stayed up all last night so I got to sleep for 5 hours straight. Which is such a blessing. I hope you get some rest finally. Is there anyone that can come over and help you out?

I hope everyone else is doing great. I will check back in a little later.

xoxo

Hi gals...you should see me right now...I'm pumping w/ 1 hand and typing with the other! :D :D :D I'm trying to build up my milk supply so I can ditch these formula supplements...

Racheal, I'm so sorry to hear @ the colic. You must be exhausted. I hope the water helps. When does colic usually set in? I'm nervous that Braeden might be developing early signs of it...gas and fussiness. I can't complain as he isn't fussy all the time, but it does seem to get bad every other day. We're back to him not pooping again. I'm assuming he might be an every other day kind of fella.

Nance--Congrats on 5 straight hours of sleep! I'm so jealous! I feel refreshed when I get 3! Seriously! Is DH going back to work next week? I can't remember what you said. Good luck! My DH owns his own business, so he's been working this whole time. That's why we've had grandma's and aunts staying with us to help me during the day and overnight. There's no way I could have done this on my own. However, I'm trying to figure out how to start doing things on my own, so I can get my house back!

Well, the OB gave me clearance to drive and do some normal activities again! YEah! So, this afternoon I left the babies with grandma and went to Target for a quick trip....HEAVEN!!!! I haven't had 5 minutes to myself since the babies were born. It was very refreshing. By the way, I picked up some extra bottles--The PLaytex ones with the vented bottoms. They're a pain to put together, but they do seem to cut back on the air bubbles and gas....thought I'd pass that along.

I hope the rest of you are well! I've lost track of time...when's our next bambino due?

Oh, Nance, I'm going to check out the bucket right now. I can't wait to see LIlly!

Hi all,
Glad to see your all still posting and keeping us up to date with the news.
Sounds like you are all doing well.

kim- Glad you got the constipation issue out the way! Your breastfeeding aren't you? I'm sure I was told when breastfeeding DD that its not unusual for them to go a week without a poo, but should be more often if on formula. You are coping so well, keep up the good work.

Nance- Glad to hear that Lily is putting weight on so well. Hope you soon get that much needed sleep.

Rachel- Sorry to hear about Makayla's colic. We use Gripe water a lot here in the UK and it is sworn by for some parents. I also used something called colief drops for DD as she was very colicky and had some reflux. Not sure if you can get them over there tho. Hope she soon settles as can imagine you need some rest. Take care

Colleen- Glad to hear Gavin is growing so well.

Nicola- Sorry to hear about your scare. Hope you are resting and taking it easy. Heres hoping you can hold out a bit longer.

We are well. However, just had phone call from my sister to say my niece has just come out in hand, foot and mouth which she caught from nursery. They came over to our house yesterday and niece and DD played together and kissed and cuddled! Argh! Just got over the slapped cheek incident now this. On the plus side I don't think its dangerous for pregnant women, and as I'm not working now I don't have to worry about childcare, so we just haveto wait and see.
DH has just been away for 4 days on a course, so feeling exhausted and glad he's home. DD was actually pretty well behaved compared to last week, so that made life a little easier.
Seeing the consultant next week, not sure why! They still consider me high risk butI can't see why having had 1 normal pregnancy and vaginal delivery but we'll see what they have to say.
Take care all you new mums. I have to say that you are making me remember those first very hard few weeks/months with DD!
