Hi guys.

I thought for sure that when I signed on there would be news of Sophies little man...I hope she isn't having a hard labor. I am so excited!!!

Carolyn: The girls are right. Be careful. Try not to push any feelings to the back. You dont want it to come to the surface and you arent mentally prepared for it. How is DH? I know he is wanting to come home. You two need each other...what a time for him to be away. I know we arent able to hug you, but we are always here anytime!!! HUGS!!!

Rachel: WOW!!! That is great that you and DH are waiting until it is born. I wonder if DH and I will be able to do that. I remember when Nims did that...AMAZING if you ask me. Ohhhh a new washer...I always love getting new appliances. I hope you are taking it easy. Give Ruby a big hug for me. Oh, and when you have a chance, give us some updated piccies of her!!! :D

Nims: aawwww, I just got a visual of your beautiful baby girl pulling herself up on the couch...then plop back on the floor. So sweet! We need an updated piccie of Eva to!!!!

School is going good...no complaints. Still trying to figure out how not to stress out about everything. I am such a geek...one day. Anyway ladies...i will be around to play if anyone wants to play...AND to keep my eye out for Sophie's hubby!!!!! oh....I can't wait!!! Love to all...

Hi ladies,
How's everyone? Just been busy w/school & adjusting to working full time again. dh & I went away over the weekend for our anniversary. We lost in Detroit but had a great time! af came yesterday. Starting pills on fri. What's up w/all the shots... Lupron, & progestrone for 3 mos? When I saw the box of syringes I almost fainted. I just hate needles & pain. These infertility doc's are the finest around so they must know what they are doing. Any experiences w/side effects of Lupron making you think crazy thoughts? Any of you been "mad" on Lupron?
Carolyn- been thinking about you & hoping you bought yourself a "few" nice things. Take care of yourself hun.
Sophie- Is the baby here???
Nicola- Where are you?
Mally- Welcome! You'll love it here.
Nims- You're an old timer aren't you? Any advice 4 a 1st timer?
Miracle- What's new?
Lara- How's the weather by u?
Sarah- How's life?
Shantala- I love your daughter's name!

Hi Ladies!

The board is kind of quiet...

Wishfull: I though you would be oout to play today? June...that isnt far at all. Have you heard anything from the other clinic?

Lee: Awww...thanks for giving the sweet babes huggies from me. I just love to cuddle with babies. You are so lucky...

Sabi: dont get discouraged from the needles. The girls are right, you will be suprised what courage you have ! You will be fine. 8)

Oh, Carolyn, thanks for asking about my "stress!" I hate it. I am working on it though. Like, I am trying not to let myself get worked up right now. I keep thinking what I want, need to do when I get home. What I need to get finished before class tonight. Everytime I start thinking about it, I make it a point to think about something else. A lot of people have metioned meditation to me...I have looked it up online..It is just breathing with your eyes closed, right?

Hello ladies!

I'm here! So sorry I couldn't send news earlier! :D DH did come back home, but during my labor so he could put the dogs in a kennel at the vet. I didn't ask him to write anything because our son still wasn't here and I wanted him back at the hospital ASAP!

SO! Jérémie (his complete name is Jérémie Pierre Victor Côté Buon) arrived on Monday at 5:42pm. At birth, he weighed 7 pounds and 8 ounces, and measured 21 inches (what a surprise... he's tall! ;)). The labor was quite average for a first baby; the thing is that the latency phase lasted long. Because of that, the contractions were intense, but not too close from each other, so I managed the pain just fine. At 2pm on Monday the doctor ruptured my membranes and it gave labor the push it needed. Within the hour I was receiving the epidural (it was about time) and they started some pitocin to make my contractions come closer apart. Once I was all numb and given the right medical pushes I needed, I passed from 4cm to complete in 3 hours (!!!!) and was ready to push. I pushed for 45 minutes; it was a great experience because I wasn't too numb and I could feel everything. The two nurses I was with during the day and evening shifts were very nice and calm, just the type of person I needed. It was truly nice to have the whole hospital stay (labor, delivery and post-partum) in the same room.

We hadn't planned this, but once the shoulders were out the doctor told my husband to grab the baby and put him on my belly, so I felt that LONG thing come out of me (my eyes were closed shut; I was pushing) and when I opened them I saw my husband with the baby in his hands placing him on my belly and saying, "Sophie, he's here!" I'll never forget the expression on his face (total marvel). I'll also never forget when he said, very softly, looking at me nursing for the first time, "Thank you." After our IVF journey, it meant the world.

Jérémie cried a lot right when he was out, so it cleaned his lungs nicely and he scored nearly perfect on the apgar scale. I breastfed him almost right away, and for over an hour (he was quite an avid little sucker!!!). We've been improving our breastfeeding teamwork since then and I'm happy to report that things are going very well (which is QUITE relieving for me). I am really amazed to see how quickly my body is recovering.

He is a very good baby, very patient and sweet, and we are over the moon. I look at him and I can't believe he was conceived outside my body, then frozen, then thawed, and became this... my son. I'm about to call the clinic to let them know (for their stats), and my doctor is lucky I don't have to do this in person, because I would give him the hug of a lifetime! :D

If you want to see Jérémie, you can go here:

I'm sorry I can't stay for personals, but I'd like to take a nap given that Jérémie is sleeping right now. I'll come back in the next few days and catch up decently. You're all in my thoughts, though, and I send you warm hugs and heartfelt thanks for letting me post here and giving me so much support these last few months.

With love,

Sophie
