Shantala- oh well done hun x x 10mature eggies fetilised. as aunty said 100%..You are totally brimming with PMA.... It's gotta do the job for a BFP!!!! good luck on ET on Friday. x x wooo Hoo am so happy for you hun x x :D :D divide embies divide :D :D

Beckster (or maybe we should call you the GABSTER lol :D )- Glad you too had some fun posting this avo brougt me lol reading   As for your AF all that jigging has brought on my own AF ( or spotting) :(
SO I am sending some AF dust your way now via 'getting Jiggy with it' follie fairies...they have taken over. Yep hun sicky bug is on it's way out . Both Dh and i are now feeling better. ( and his turn to cook the dinner hee hee)

love to everyone else i did perrsonals this morning...just got an update on Gp..and it's still sunny here :D :D I am sitting in the garden with lap top and wi fi...we have actaully sun and heat today :D :D But I am still spotting so glad i had a GP appointment booked. All went well further info in post. When i came back from the gp I found Broc (PUP: now 11months old and obviously hungry) had eatten many pages in my diary( it's actually a filofax that i have had for 8 yrs...with everything in it :? think of all the info, phone numbers and addresses :? ) AND munched his way through my ORIGINAL notes from ivf clinic in my Barcelona IM folder...lucky enough most of them were salvageable although there are many bite marks in them
anyway i went to GP to see about continule bleed/staining. She was soooooooooo helpful and prescribed progesterone only tablets for days 12-26 CD...then AF will come in 3 days. So it will take the edge off my worry knowing the prog should stop the breakthru bleeding and not interfere with my cycle. This GP is new to me (2nd time i have seen her since house move). She has gone thru ivf in Harley street and now has twins. Spoke to her about my pre ET scan of womb lining for IM and progesterone pesseries when i get BFP!!! ( spot the PMA ladies) AND get this ....she will prescribe on NHS...NO NEED TO GO PRIVATE. I love this GP, can totally let go of any stress or worries surrounding tmt here in scotland now. Whoooo I can breathe a sigh of relief and there are smiles all round :D :D :D

love to all you lovely ladies

Hi girls

This is a quicky as i'm at work and rug rats are due home any minute.

AF is playing tricks, its part here and the other part is hiding. Dont know if that means af has started properly and dont know if i should slap a patch on that fat butt of mine. or not. Have emailed Big B for assistance. Sure they will say i have to wait on proper bleed but just dont want to do it wrong

Hi to everyone and Shantala, hope you are ok and things are fine for ET.

Love Jen x

Lordy this thread is out of control!!!!! Thanks - you know who you are. I just had to read pages to find out what the heck was going on!!!!

Shantala - that is awesome news in terms of the numbers and the 100%fert rate. Must all be fab quality. Glad that they are letting you go to D3 although it seems to have confused the hell out of Beckster! Hope that they are all dividing well for you. Really excited to hear that you had dh on Zita West. I have been taking them for months - no years. The ladies ones! But never got them for dh until they told us on Friday that dh's could be better quality. He is now on them as otherwise told him that it would be donor sperm - that focused his mind!!!! He is also on 2 liters of water per day as apparently sperm is mainly made up of water???? So pleased for you. Hope that ET goes really well on Friday if I am not around tomorrow. At ARGC they told me to rest and not go to work for the first few days but that after that it was ok to work if it did not involve strenous activity.

JS - I am so very sorry that you have had to suffer the pain of losing one of your precious beanies. You need to focus on the other two that are so dependent on you. This may be an insensitive thing to say but there is a good chance of going (nearer) to term with twins so may be this is your body giving the twins the best possible start in life. I am not trying to be nasty, just to see the silver lining to the cloud for you. Big hugs

Big B is our code word/name for Barcelona where me and some of the others are off to for egg donor tmt. Not everyone wants to be too obvious about the whole donor thing so that is why we use Big B. They have way more egg donors than we have in this country as the UK has changed the rules and you can no longer be an anonymous donor. Hope this helps explain. Waiting in the UK for eggs means 2/3 years at the good clinics. It is crazy

Angel - sorry that your appointment was so upsetting. The law here sucks and clearly has done nothing to help those of us who need some help to get underway. Afraid that I have only investigated Spain so far for eggs, not sperm (although we may need that too). Myself and the ladies on here are all going to Instituto Marques in Barcelona. The other clinic that I have heard good things about in Spain is IVI which is in Madrid and Barcelona and other cities in Spain. I just e-mailed IM and heard back the 1st time in 24 hours. There is lots of info on their web site. The donors are mainly young students. Let us know if we can help you at all. For eggs, we just need to visit once for the initial appointment (for matching and tests) and then return for ET and stay for 2 days. Sounds easy when you write it like that!!! Yeah right

JB - love the good luck token. Going to steal your idea and get one when I am over there for my 1st appointment

Cheekskuss - Welcome - the ladies are fab. You will get all the support that you need here. Glad that you found us. Hoping that it will be 4th time lucky for you

Beckster - did you do any work today hun!???? I think not. I will do more jigging for your AF

Aunty - how are things at the house? Are you and Sam loving it!!!

Jayne - don't think that you are here now. Hope appointment tomorrow goes well and have a lovely weekend in the lake district

Gill - you have been quite quiet. Is all ok?

Jen1d - you are quiet too. Are you doing ok? May be you are working - unlike Beckster! Any news on AF? I am jigging for you and hoping that she will come soon for you and then you can really get going. Any news on your lady yet?

Jackie - hope that you are going to have a lovely holiday

Rachel - glad that the sun burn is calming down. You should be careful hun

Hugs to anyone that I have missed.

Bloods done at hospital this morning. Tests that we need for Barcelona and have not been done so far - like blood group for matching. My arm is a mess. Thank goodness I was not going there twice a day. I'd look a right junkie!!! Dh went yesterday and we should get results back to our gp in around a week. Another box ticked!

Managed to get £910 on insurance for my hysteroscopy. It was a right fiasco trying to get it paid for and the op was done on the last day that I was covered by my old company so a bit of a result really. Weird how such minor victories help. It will certainly help towards tmt in Barcelona as paid off credit card already.

Night Night ladies.

Love to you all
Carolyn

Morning ladies!!!!! (ah no, not her again, I hear you say!! )

How are we all today??

Aunty – thanks hun, I’m really pleased too. Clinic wont call me today with embie cell count but I’m thinking about calling them…hhhmmmm…think I will. Anyway, thought the least I could do was to go back allllll those posts to find who had that new york grant and it was cheeks. It’s definitely worth looking into! Oohh, how exciting! Let us know what you find out!

The beckster, no sorry, the gabster ( Image )– not talking to you! Telling cheeks to watch me. (although you’re probably right, I’ve turned a right nutter this week! Image ). How was work in the end? Hope you have a good day today. You know where I am! still no AF yet?? I’m sure she’ll show her face when you’re prancing around in outfits on Saturday at your ann summers party…..hehehehehe

JB – thank you so much hun. Lets hope they do the trick this time!! By the way, think the GABSTER for becky is fantastic! Let me change her name…..ah, done. Hehehehe…much better and much more suited! So pleased that you have such a supportive GP. That must really help!  about broc though. Bless him! Very annoying but sooooo cute!

Lara – thank you honey! You made me laugh calling yourself a stupid *****. You’re not a stupid *****, just a silly one! Only joking hun. God, the amount of times ive burnt myself! Lol….did you try the natural yoghurt?? Lol. Anyway, tell dh its your computer. My attitude is whats theirs (dh’s) is ours and what is ours is our own…right? Image

Jen1d – ah, thanks my dear. Sorry to hear about AF mucking you around. Did big b get back to you???

Carolynb – sorry about yesterday….it’s all becky’s fault!!! Honestly! She forced me into having a long conversation with her! Anyway, good to hear from you! Cool to hear about someone else taking those tablets. But aren’t they expensive?? Saying that, I don’t really care if they’re expensive as they obviously do the job!!!! Lol about threatening dh with donor sperm…..   !!! Thanks for letting me know about what the ARGC advise re time off after ET. Very interesting. Fantastic news about the £910 you saved!!! So there are some good things about insurance companies then! Lol. I have private healthcare (BUPA) through my new job (free) but nothing for IVF is covered unfortunately. Never mind. Anyway, you’re sounding very upbeat which is good! Xx

Hi to everyone else!!!!

I would just like to apologise for becky's behaviour yesterday, keeping me chatting, which has meant lots of reading for you lovely ladies. it's just not on so i apologise for her.    (to the gabster: Image )

Feeling much better today, which is great. Not a big lover of the pessaries though! Will be better after ET when the front entrance can be used (if you know what I mean, lol!!)

Have a good day all….oh, I think I’m gonna phone the clinic in a moment to see how my little embies are doing.

Byyyyyyeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

xxxxxx

ps: just phoned my doctors and explained that i needed a sick note for work for next week and they squeezed me in at 11.10 today! bless them! that way i can have as much time off as i want/need next week but if i want to go back to work i can.

hi guys...sorry, me again. just need to have a quick rant....i posted it on becky's thread "tips for dealing with...." but as its near the bottom now i'm not sure how many of you saw it.

you know we always encounter insensitive people, like my neighbour, for example:

my neighbour popped round last sunday (who ive not spoken to in ages). she asked what was happening with IVF and i said the first one didnt work and we are currently going through our second one (but left it at that). she said that we should:

- a) just relax and it will happen (dont you just hate that one)
- b) just not worry about having kids and appreciate what i do have. she said some women with children would love to have what i have!! can you bloody believe it!!

i just said to her, a) it wouldnt work if we just sat back and relaxed. tests have confirmed its more or less impossible for us to conceive naturally and in any case, we've been trying for over 18 months so i'm sure if it was gonna happen it would have done by now and b) i would give up EVERYTHING i have to have a baby. everything that those people with babies would die for. oh and the other thing she said is i already have children (as dh has 2 daughters). WHAT???? due to the age gap they're around the same age as me and she knows that!!!

anyway, sorry for my rant!

thought i'd give you a laugh as its so ridiculous!!! you have to laugh or you would cry otherwise!

aw becky!!!! how dare you forget to tell us its your birthday today!!

Image

we're all singing happy birthday for you and dancing:

Image Image Image (blow out the candles and make a wish!!!)

as for your question....cant you phone your doctor and ask them? you should be able to get bloods done at your local hospital over the weekend. let us know what you're gonna do!!! so glad AF is on her way for you.

i phoned the clinic this morning and they said they would try and get one of the embryologists to ring me but that they are very busy. i told them i would appreciate a phone call back but if they're too busy i understand. well, ive just been to the doctors and had to wait over half an hour to be seen, then had to post off sick note to employer so not sure if ive missed their call. never thought i would be that long!! never mind, if not, i'll know this time tomorrow!

take care hun!!!!!

Also GABSTER (Becky)...at my last clinic they said if AF starts at afternoon/night ( after 3pm) next day is counted as day 1. FSH can been done on day 2 or 3. Even if AF is light it still counts as day 1 or parrt day 1( if after 3pm).So if AF starts tomorrow frid, before 3pm call the clinic so check about bloods. If not monday morn is okay for bloods:D :D ....Hope that helps..... x x

Hi All

clinic just phoned and the embies are doing as follows:

1 at 3 cell
4 at 4 cell
3 at 5 cell
2 at 8 cell (bit ahead of themselves!)

so quite pleased as all have gone on to divide at least. got the usual blurb from the embryologist that we cant tell until tomorrow, etc, which i understand but just wanted to get a feel for things.

If you can't beat em them join um.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECKSTER! Cannot do all the fancy stuff as at work and not as technically competent as some of you. Have a great day. 3-9 is still young. You can save the depression for next year   Hope AF shows up but may be tomorrow rather than today

On your question then my clinic always say that you should wait for the 1st day where you have a proper flow. I'd go tomorrow though if you have sorta started and the clinic is closed at the weekend. This is a bit of a cheat but I was also told that FSH tends to be lower on D1 and then rise across D2/D3. So if they are looking for a lower level for you to start then better to go sooner rather than later

Shantala - sure that they are doing really well given your 100% perfect fert rate. They would have called if there was any issue as they might have called you back from a D2 transfer instead. They have not so guess that is really good news. Don't worry about the ridiculous things people say. They really do not have a clue. The relax and just let it happen drives me mad. Some of them clearly never went to Biology classes at school. Focus on you and dh for now though. Nothing else matters. Hope that all goes really well for you tomorrow. Off line all day as dh and I have been invited to the opera at Glynebourne by friends (not really our scene but the picnic should be nice!) so will only be able to see your news on Saturday. Hope that you have a great couple of embies back on board by the time that I next post. Glad that you have a sick note and now can take as much time off as you need. This thread will be HUGE next week. Don't talk to me about the cost of the Zita West tablets. I have been on them for nearly two years! My health care was Cigna. They cover no tmt - same as you. None of them do in the UK. However, I have never told them about any of my tmt (bad but necessary when you have spent over £20k) and they have paid for all the 'diagnosis' testing - lap/hysteroscopy/semen/bloods. Saved us about £5k which really does help when everything is so expensive. Cannot believe that they let you put the pessaries in the front rather than the back!! I have had to use the back all 4 times. Totally yuck!

Aunty - glad that you & Sam are enjoying the new home and the deck sounds lovely when you get home from work. I do nothing in the garden - that is dh's job! In return I do cooking and ironing. Team work - right. Not sure who mentioned the NY grant as lots of the ladies on here are in the UK not the US. Are you sure that it was on this thread? Why not post the question on the General Forum and see what response you get

Jen1d - so hope that AF is here and you can get underway. Any news hun????

Hugs to everyone else. Best get back to work as also have lots to do and need to leave earlish (5.30pm) as getting my toe and finger nails painted so they look nice with my bright pink dress for the opera. And then not here tomorrow.............arghhhh.

Catch up with you all at the weekend. Shantala - really hope that ET goes well tomorrow. Then put your feet up and let dh take best care of you.

Love to you all.
Carolyn
