kerpupples,
oh, sweetie, so sorry to hear you're down... :( *HUGS* I hope you get appropriate support from DH and friends and family??? *RE-HUG* I really hope things will get better soon and you have a nice BFP to cheer you up! Or any other happy life event, for that matter! :D Hang in there sweetie... and thank you so much for your kind words!

Kim,
I read on the April mommies thread that you're quite pleagued by morning sickness... poor thing... have you tried the preggie pops? Search them on Google... apparently, they're magical!

My beta is 325.5. My ultrasound will be on September 8th and it seems an eternity away. I'm really looking forward to passing that 6 weeks mark and see a heartbeat, which will make my miscarriage risks drop to 2-3% only. Apparently, my beta is "excellent"; anything above 125 makes them happy. Last time, I started at 653, but hey. The embryos were younger this time, we might have a late implanter... plus let's face it, I miscarried anyway last time, probably because of all my tube-related problems, and now all those problems have been surgically removed. I repeat to myself that each pregnancy is a different story, and we're making a completely new start at this. Hang in there, little embie!

Take care ladies,

Sophie xxox

That is a great beta!!! How many days past transfer are you? Are you going in for a second beta?? My first beta is very similiar to yours, you can see in my signature how many days past transfer etc. Maybe you have twins too!
Yes, I had terrible m/s. I am feeling a little better today. I haven't tried the Preggo pops. I have had a hard time even driving a car. Ob finally gave me a little Zofran, and I am feeling better.
Very nervous for my u/s this Wednesday...hoping Twin A's hb is stronger.
I am having alot of brown spotting, but I am told this is okay. My dh and I cancelled some of our plans this weekend, so I can just take it easy.
I am thrilled for you!

p.s. Is your due date in April??? Come join the pg board!

Kim,

LOL and now I'm freaking out!!!!   Not really, but I didn't realize someone could have twins with a first beta like that. My clinic told me you can suspect twins when first beta is over 500. So naturally, I thought I have a singleton. During my first pregnancy, my first beta was 653 and I had a singleton.

...but hey, your case proves that you never know! Although I don't feel like I'm carrying twins, I'll definitely keep an open mind!!! My beta was taken 12dp4dt, so almost just like you. My clinic doesn't do 2nd betas; they just do an ultasound at 6 weeks. They say, and I agree, that too many betas just make mothers anxious for no reason.

I'm due in May, and my embies were a bit young when they were transferred. I've checked the April thread, not sure I'll join. The May mommies thread might be more appropriate given that I'm only 4 weeks 5 days along, and most people on the April thread are further along than I.

I really hope the ms gets even better with the meds. As for the spotting, you have the right attitude, don't worry. 80% of women will bleed during their first trimester. Anything from pushing during a bowel movement to your uterus expanding (bleeding occurs at implantation site) can cause completely harmless bleeding.

As for me, nausea has subsided a bit these past 24 hours. But I am increasingly tired, and my breasts are noticeably bigger! :D And darker, of course.

Take care and have a lovely calm weekend! REmember your princess status! ;)

Kim, please let us know how your u/s goes next week.

Sophie, I'll be watching to see if you've got more than one in there also.

I'm set for my next ET on 9/3. Had a nice triple 9.6 mm lining on Wednesday. Let's hope these are some strong late blooming embies I have left!

Cheers,
Amy

Your et is right around the corner!! Your lining is beautiful!!
I just know this is your time!!
Keep us posted.
Kim
p.s. You may think this is crazy, but in my last cycle, I did eat fresh pinapple and get massages up until ET (even night before). My RE also wouldn't let me use suppositories this time and insisted on PIO...??

August FET

Post by karma_k »

Hi, I had my FET on Aug 15th. I had a positive result last week and beta levels higher after 48 hr retest.
So far, so good. I go next Friday for a check-up...maybe another blood test and ultrasound?
I had acupuncture the day before and after my FET; I've been seeing my acupuncturist since my last IVF was BFN.
Anyone else going to acupucture? How far into pregnancy is it suggested to continue?

Hi guys,

Karma,
CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP! :D:D:D Acupuncture can be very helpful all the way through pregnancy, labor and delivery. My acupuncturist specialises in fertility treatments, pregnancy, labor and delivery. Some acupuncturists will assist you at the hospital, some hospitals even have on-call acupuncturists. At least, here in Montreal.

kerpupples,
woohooooo you're almost there!! Only a few days and your little frosties will be back home! I really hope you'll join us on the other forum before long! :D Keeping everything crossed for you and sending lots of sticky baby dust!

kim,
Hope you're doing better and you can have that ultrasound soon. Advices differ on PIO versus vaginal inserts. My doctor says vaginal inserts are better because they deliver a steady dose of progesterone. PIO gives you one big shot every 24 hours, so the delivery starts high and then keeps going down for 24 hours until the next dose. But hey, people have been pregnant on both methods, so...

Take care lovely ladies!

Sophie:
My RE has me doing 1cc of PIO twice a day. Can you imagine twice a day shots, UGH!!! This week I am finally weening to Crinone Vaginal Gel twice/day...I have used this in the past and really like it. So, by Thursday, no more shots. I will be celebrating!

Kerpupples: Only a few more days, we are rooting for you!

Karma: Congrats on the BFP

Hi guys,

bad news... I found pink spotting in my panty liner this morning. I left a message at the clinic, and they called me back; I'll have a beta done right now and the results should be in this afternoon. I'm trying not to freak out, I know it could be nothing, irritation from the inserts, expansion of my uterus, and so on. But I still don't have the heart to tell my husband...

more when I know more... trying to keep up the PMA!

Sophie - sorry to hear about the spotting. My office manager had lots of spotting during her IVF pregnancy and she has the most beautiful son now. I hope it's nothing!

Kimmy - how are you hanging in there with those twins? I can't imagine having to do 2 PIO shots a day. 1 is bad enough! I used Crinone during my fresh cycles, that seemed manageable.

HI Kerpupples,

sorry to say, but spotting has turned into red bleeding. I had my beta done, they'll call in an hour or so. The gynecologist refused to do an ultrasound, but it's understandable because he wouldn't have seen anything. He said we might do betas every second day until Sunday, when I'll probably have an ultrasound if I don't miscarry until then. Still sending lots of baby dust to you dear.

Kim,
hope things are better on your side! :D Thinking about you!

Okay, the nurse called. It was Susan, my top favorite nurse who really seems to care about me. The news is fantastic. My beta is 6708. This is well above what it should be today. I took my first beta and calculated a normal progression, doubling the number every second day. I should be 3906 today, but my beta is 6708, it's even higher than what it should be tomorrow. At least we know that the baby is growing exponentially... any maybe that I have twins, who knows... because a lady on another thread pointed out to me that she and I had the exact same first beta, and she's expecting twins.

So the doctor wants me to come tomorrow for an ultrasound; he says we should see something with a beta like that. I'm extremely skeptical, and happy at the same time, and apprehensive too. When I was rushed into the ER last time, my beta was 18000, and the doctor was convinced we would see something. When we didn't see the HB, he told me point blank that I was miscarrying. They found the HB two days later, and told me my miscarriage risks had dropped to around 5 %. Two days after that, they did a courtesy ultrasound and DH and I both saw the little heartbeat. Two days after that, I had my normal apt at the clinic, and the baby had passed away.

So as much as I wish to think an ultrasound would reassure me... I'm not sure it will. Though hearing that nice beta today does lift my spirits. it's silly, in part, because I still miscarried last time despite my super excellent beta... but it's a waiting game indeed...

A department called me to see a patient... I'll go; it will change my mind.

Take care lovely ladies... I'll write news as soon as I can. The ultrasound will be tomorrow morning towards 8am.

S.

another update...

The bleeding has stopped. In fact, the spotting has stopped. It's really strange. I mean, I first found a big pink spot in my panty liner, and by the time I got to the clinic, I had a few drops of diluted red blood and it showed on the toilet paper... bright red freckles. So naturally I thought I had started bleeding. But just a few minutes ago, I inserted my progesterone and there was no trace of blood on my finger. And my panty liner, well... has pink or normal discharge on it. And now I feel both relieved that the bleeding didn't occur.. and a bit stupid because I gave you a scare and might have freaked out for nothing.

*sigh* silly me! wait and see, wait and see!

Cheerio!

Sophie, you have to be hypersensitive to every little issue after the last roller coaster you rode up to your MC. I bet everyting is just fine this time. And, holy hGG about that beta! :) Hope you are ready for twins....

I just got back from a massage and I'm going to yoga tonight. My theme is "RELAX" right up unil ET tomorrow (and beyond)!

OMG!! I was just reading your posts, and was so relieved by the time I got to the last one. I am happy you are having an u/s tomorrow...I hope things are okay. It sounds like it is, and you may have twins. I also have my u/s tomorrow, and will get a chance to see what is going on with me. Unfortunately, I did have bright red blood on Saturday. I can't believe what a rollercoast your last m/c was. I am so sorry that you and dh had to go throught that. How far along will you be tomorrow?

Kerpupples:
Rexlation....ahhhh....perfect! That is exactly what I did this last time. I just have a great feelling that this cycle is going to work for you!!!
