Carolyn, sorry forgot, centre Parcs we have been to both Cumbria and Sherwood Forest, find 3 hours in the car just about manageable at their age now. First time we went they were 14 months and walking, at this age i think Cumbria had more to offer the small ones as had a huge indoor soft play. At the age yours will be you should be fine as they will be hardly moving around and just starting solids so will be happy in their pram most of the day. Are you taking help? if so great as it means you and DH will get time to play too.
Also if you do go book by phone and tell them you have twins you will get the second cot and high chair free of charge.
hope this helps
good luck tomorrow if your still around

Hi girls!

Thanks for the good luck with the appointment...it meant a lot you remembered!!! :D

It went well. I have a lot of testing to get done still, which I wasnt prepared for. But that is OK! I have had 2 m/c's with a previous partner so the RE is testing blood clotting issues and I have to have another HSG test done and a saline sonogram! Plus blood work and certain days! Nothign too hard! I had 15 vials of blood taken yesterday.... But we are starting and I cant believe it. I am very comfortable with my RE. She seems to really know what she is doing...she takes her time, listens to all of my questions, doesnt get annoyed. I will keep you all posted. Thank you so much for thinking of me!!!!

Carolyn! Not much longer huh Mumma! xxxxx

MIRACLE!! So glad to hear you are getting started! Wow, that's a lot of tests & bloodwork! Nothing like getting some appointments and tests under your belt to start the engine going!!! I'm so happy for you, dear!!

Glad to hear you like your RE too. That is so important. It can be very discouraging to have a doctor that doesn't LISTEN to you and make you feel like you are more than a # and $$.

Please keep us all updated on your progress and how you are feeling.

Hi Ladies,

Hope we are all well.

Any news from wishful27?

Nothing new with me, well apart from waiting for AF so I can start the Clomid! When me and DH started TTC for a baby nearly 5 years ago we had the usual tests and I had a HyCosy scan (if that's the correct name for it) and basically it showed my left fallopian tube to be slightly blocked but the solution did eventually flow through, whereas the right side was perfect. However, the consultant didn't seem concerned about it and we didn't think anymore of it (well it was always on the back of my mind really). Anyway, my periods are quite irregular - one cycle can be 28 days and the next one 32-36 days. When we went to the clinic to ask about Clomid again we questioned the blockage they'd seen on the scan. The nurse at the unit was very unhelpful and seemed as though she really didn't want to be there answering our questions! When we asked about the tube and if it affected my longer cycles she more or less said that it could mean I might not ovulate every month and only every other month! Me and DH were obviously a litte upset. She said i could have the scan again but she didn't think it'd make much difference!

Anyway i went to my doctors this week and asked her and she didn't seemed worried, she said that it's my hormones that are making my periods irregular! She didn't request for me to have another scan. So i'm glad about that, but was so annoyed that the nurse was unhelpful. Plus again we found out about the blockage and maybe making me not ovulated years after i'd actually had the test!!

Has anyone else had problems with blockages of tubes etc..?

We're still trying Clomid for 6 months.

I've had a busy few months - 2 friends have had babies, and I've got another friend waiting to have a baby!

Me and DH have a VERY busy year ahead of us - plenty to take our minds off things! It's my parents 60th Birthday, 3 friends 30th Birthdays, a holiday to Spain, holiday to Cyprus for a wedding - i'm going to be bridesmiad :D another wedding in December, engagement party, oh and 2 hen nights!!
Busy busy busy! :D

Oh and I'm hoping to get a new job! :D

What's new with everyone else?

It's so hard keeping up with everyone on here, but you are all in my thoughts x x x

Sorry to crash this thread just wanted to sa hi Vicky.

Did you have a good Christmas and New Year? Sounds like you have lots of things to look forward to this year. I can't imagine we will be going on holiday for years now! lol

In terms of blocked tubes my HyCosy showed that one tube was blocked and the other wasn't good at all. However, the doc recommended that after sex I should lay on the side of the 'better' tube, which I found quite amusing at the time! With this and dh sperm count we were told to go straight to IVF as they didn't think we had a chance otherwise.

Which nurse was unhelpful? I always found that some of the nurses just assumed we knew what everything meant, not quite sure how we were meant to!

I am good and finish work in 3 weeks. I am excited but starting to get scared now!

Take care and keep in touch

I hope 2010 is the year for you

Hi Angie,

How are you? It's so nice to hear from you :D Wow I can't believe you've got 37 days left! That has passed so quickly! Bet its a nice feeling to not be at work anymore in 3 weeks!

It was Dawn who we spoken to. You're right, some of them assume because we've been through it 4 times and after 5 years that we should know everything! Obviously we don't, and we wanted to ask more! Won't be asking for her anymore. Me and DH prefer Denise. When we saw one of the doctors after the scan he didn't seem very concerned about the slight blockage, but it's still always been on the back of our mind. But my GP reassured me a lot more. So fingers crossed the Clomid will do it's magic! :D

Oh yes, a lot to look forward to - not sure we'd fit in a pregnancy and baby! ha ha (only kidding!)

Take care, and keep me posted x x x
