It's me again,

Franca, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!!! Any symptoms?

Girls, I could have waited until next week to tell you this, but I feel it now, so... I just reread my posts from a year ago, and I said it then, but I want to say it again a year later. You are such wonderful ladies, real troopers. We've been through a lot, and being able to share all that with you, to give support and love, and receive so much in return, has been a huge blessing. My IVF journey would not have been the same without any of you. For that, I hold you very tight against my heart, and I say

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

And for all the ladies out there who are still waiting to become mommies, do not despair. When I reread those posts, also reread Carolyn's posts, who had just received news of a bfn with DH being away from home, after a tiring cycle that involved travelling several times out of the country. Well, let's say her signature (and life!!!) has changed dramatically since then!!! :D:D:D I know bfps do not come to everybody, but I do know that moments of joy, fulfilment and pure happiness do come sooner or later for all of us. And when they do, and when they don't, we're lucky to have each other.

And here ends my "Oprah moment"... pffffrrrt! :D

Becky - whats the nexy stage in the adoption process for you and Brian ??

Traci - not long now till you start - can't wait to start cheering you along like you have done for so many f us in the past xxx

Franca,

POAS are tricky, that's for sure. You could get a negative, and do a blood test at the clinic the same day and get a BFP. Personally, I only trust the blood test, but a negative POAS can definitely ruin your PMA, sometimes for nothing because in fact you're pregnant. As for the symptoms, you absolutely can't trust them. The progesterone you're taking makes you feel like AF is coming, it makes you crampy, it gives you sore breasts, dark areolas, all signs of a possible pregnancy. The only trustworthy symptom I've ever had is my sense of smell. I started gagging when my dogs pooped during walks because my sense of smell was 10 times what it normally was. It's a pregnancy symptom that not everybody has, but for me it's THE sign. Hang in there, in two days you'll know! Keep extra busy until then, it's the only thing that helps! :D:D:D

Carolyn,
I'm glad to read that you're doing well despite the business of your life. It,s great that relatives come to help despite the distance, but indeed I had been warned that these situations can turn you into a hostess in addition to being an overwhelmed mom! ;) Awwwwww ,your boys are doing so well, you must have a blue thumb! :) LOL I was born premature, and one of my grandma, with whom we were living, took super good care of me. When he saw how well I was doing, gaining weight and being so healthy, my pediatrician said that my grandma had a pink thumb! Cute huh? So there you go dear, double blue thumb for you! :D

Okay ladies, I won,t be long, I've posted 100 times already. I love you guys,

Hi Ladies

Well, we had our scan today and saw one flickering heartbeat so we're over the moon :)
Just wish I didn't feel so sick all the time. I know I shouldn't complain but its constant and I guess its just putting a bit of a dampner on things... :(
Any tips on what I can do to cope with it better?

yeh Franca - congrats on your BFP - delighted for you - let us know what your beta is tom - how many did you transfer ??

Ems - my morning sickness was virtually non existant but I had accupuncture to keep it under control and it worked for me and I know other IVF'ers who have had it for MS and it helped them too - other obvious things - ginger biscuits/ale/crystalised ginger ??

Traci - we need an update on your treatment - where are you in the cycle now ???

love to all

Good morning ladies!

Image :D:D:D Franca, I'm so happy for you, this is amazing news!!!! I can't wait to hear about your beta tomorrow, keep us posted! how do you feel? How does DH feel? Have you told anyone yet? :D

Ems,
Oooooh I,m so sorry about the MS... it is really annoying indeed... the first trimester is trying, especially after an IVF marathon... but you'll see, I promise, it gets way better in the second trimester. And you don't feel crappy all the time, there are good moments every day all the way. My doctor prescribed me Diclectin right away. It did wonders and other than a few gags, I never threw up and my MS was kept under control. Diclectin was made especially for pregnant women, and it's just minerals. My pharmacist told me it was completely safe; I didn't feel like I was taking real meds, you know? It does make you a bit tired, but between falling asleep in a pool of my drool on the sofa every evening, and throwing up and feeling nauseous all day, I chose the first! :D And I agree with Carolyn, acupuncture does wonders, I would definitely try it (last time I didn,t do it because I wanted to save my money for accu tmts later on).

Carolyn,
Hey sweetie, how are you this morning? I think Traci only beings her tmt on May 3rd. But I STILL MISS YOU TRACI, WHERE ARE YOU? Aaaaah, I know. You''re hidden in a big cake and you're about to pop out and say SURPRIIIIISE! ;)

AFM, nothing much. AF still hasn't shown up, I need some AF jigs!!! :D

Image

But I'm proud of myself. I woke up at 5:19am and did pilates and a little bit of meditation. Tomorrow I'll try to wake up at 5am (I'll find a "vibrate" alarm somewhere, or use my cell) and have enough time to do pilates/yoga, meditate, and have some me time with a cup of coffee! :D And buy a MANUAL juicer for DH's morning orange juice, because electric juicers are just INCOMPATIBLE with meditation! Sheeeeeesh! ;)

Love ya,

Good morning ladies!

IT'S FRIDAAAAAAAAAAY! :D:D:D:D:D Lots of exciting things planned for tonight and the weekend! A nice date with my favorite guy tonight (DH will go out with colleagues/friends), tomorrow I was supposed to have some wax done but my hair is just so slow to grow back there isn't enough so I'll use the apt to have a pedicure instead (gah!!) and my yoga teacher whom I totally fell in love with in 2008 replied to me email and she agreed to give me a private lesson and make me a personalized yoga program that I can do at home every morning. It looks like we'll have a sunny weekend so we'll spend lots of time outside planting seeds in our garden. LIFE COULDN'T BE SWEETER!

THANK YOU for all your AF vibes and dancing, the evil witch showed herself yesterday evening. I've called the clinic and I'm waiting their confirmation for the u/s apt on May 5th. FET should be on the 8th... I'll confirm it for the list when the clinic calls.

Franca, so, what's that beta??? I'm on pins and needles! :D:D:D

Okay, have a lovely weekend girlies! :D:D:D

Hi Franca,

You betcha, you're pregnant! :D

I've seen all sorts of things on this forum. I totally agree with english doctors' approach. It's best not to test and retest for beta numbers, because women tend to obssess on it and it causes them unnecessary stress. There is nothing much you can do at this point to make your embies stick and grow more than they are doing right now. They're doing their best and that's it. When you see a heartbeat on the monitor, you'll know for sure that they are well attached and growing. Until then, believe me... enjoy the moment. Soon, the fatigue will hit, and you want to enjoy your waking moments right now, lol!

Where is everyone else????

AFM, I had a wonderful weekend. Can't believe we're this close to having another embryo transfer. I've been having a tough time with my meds; I've taken them for 3 cycles and it's the first time estrace causes me so much stomach pain, even if I carefully take them with food. The minute my stomach empties, I have severe cramping. No fun with you add it to AF pains. So the nurse will discuss this with my doc; they think they'll put me on estrogen patches and change my antibiotics, which could also cause the cramping. We'll see. I'll gladly take the occasional pain if changing meds could impact on my success rates... but I know they would talk to me first if it was the case. So we'll see; I should get a call soon.

Okay, gotta go, work is calling! Have a great day ladies,
