Maia Ella Rennie (Mel_P) is here

Post by Mel_P »

Hi Guys

at risk of repeating myself, just reposting message that I posted on the countdown thread you set up for me, to make sure you get our sincere thanks for the lovely messages and the update on birth of Maia Ella Rennie.

******

Hi All

Thanks so much for all the lovely messages! I have passed over to the other side .... heavenly heavenly motherhood, am sooooooooooooooo on cloud 9!!!!

Our beautiful precious daughter, Maia Ella Rennie arrived on Wednesday morning at 9.49 am, weighing a healthy 4.6 kgs (10.5 lbs) with a mop of black hair, absolutely ravounous appetite and a healthy set of lungs.

She is amazing and we adore her, since we got her home 2 days ago she has been an angelic beauty, slightly less angelic during the night, but still gives us lots of rest with big 4 and 5 hour regular sleeps.

First 5 days were hell in understaffed crowded hospital on shared ward with a million babies! And had no milk for her for 5 days from the c-section i guess, and given she was so big and all it was distressing that she just couldn't get enough food, really howled 24/ 7 and lost more than 10% of her body weight, which was past the marker that the medics were happy with. I really didn't want to give her formula and we have persisted the two of us on getting the b/f thing working, and have finally turned a corner, I am no longer practially strangling her to get her to latch on, and my poor chewed to pieces boobs are recovering. She is putting on weight and behaving like a real angel!!!!

Wow what a wonderful wonderful place to be, still can't beleive that she is finally here!!!!

Bec P, course I remember you. I am soooooooooooooo happy for you!!!! Really. I have actually snuffled around and checked a couple of your posts but lost track of what was happening this cycle for you. Was really hoping for you that things would happen for you this time. Thats great news. When did you get your BFP. Welcome to pregnancy!!

Have posted pics of our lovely Maia on the photo bucket.

For the rest of you am dying to hear how things are going!!! Bella and Sue your time must already be here by now! Looking forward to catching up on all the posts and emails.
