Hi! I had my retrieval on Nov. 7th, had 34 eggs, 29 mature, 22 fertilized successfully. I hyperstimulated, so transfer was a no go and was told I would receive a letter with my final numbers that were frozen. The letter came yesterday and stated that we only had 2 frozen embies left. One was good to fair and one was fair. Has anyone here lost that many? What were you told? They are still going to attempt transfer in January, but they won't know whether they survive thawing until that day I go in. What are the thawing survival rates? This is just so disappointing...
Hi LC: That is really dissapointing, I'm sorry. I'm a first IVF'er but I have heard that women with PCOS actually overstimulate and produce a lot of eggs with poor quality. You're better off producing fewer eggs with better quality. There is a great website: www.sirm.com where you can post ?'s for fertility drs. and they'll answer you within a day. Go through the West coast forum and someone with PCOS posted something about that I read. Good luck!!
Hello,
I have PCOS produced 41 Eggs 30 Fertilized and I only got 6. I froze them as I hyperstimed. I used 4 last year and nothing. They survived the thaw well. You just have to ask your clinic about their sucess with frozen. I know alot of woman who are pregnant from frozen.
Second cycle 25 eggs retrieved, 20 fertilized 10 blasts. 2 fresh transferred and nothing. I have 8 frozen from this cycle & 1 from the last cycle. I will be doing frozen cycle in January.
Keep your chin up it is a long process but it will be worth it in the end.
