Hi Everyone - Turkey day transfer

Post by kmfriNY »

Hi Everyone

I am so happy there is a place I can talk to people going through the same process. I am 35 years old, this is my first IVF cycle, and had a transfer done on Thanksgiving day (11/23/06). I produced 6 eggs, and they were all fertilized. 2 transferred & 4 saved.

I didn’t feel any side effects from the initial medication (Lupron, Bravelle, Menopur), but since I started taking the progesterone Oil (injection) the night before transfer, prometrium + estradiol (vaninally) I have been feeling “very” bloated and have some abdominal pain + gas through out the day. I am not sure if this is due to the medication or my body is just out of control. I am scheduled to go back to work tomorrow, my belly looks 3 months pregnant ;-) I would welcome any recommendation that could help with the bloating pain…

At this point the hardest part for me will be to wait until 12/7 to get my blood test results. I am looking forward to chatting with all. Good Luck!

I had a Turkey day Transfer too!

Post by Rochelle »

Hi,

I had a similar situation. This is my first IVF and I am 30. I had 7 eggs that fertilized, but I am doing through PDG so I only had a limited number of eggs to choose from and the one egg that looked the best was infected with a disease that I didn't want to pass on. So my doctor put in 2 ok looking eggs.

We were on the same medications too and I didn't feel any pain from them. Now I feel bloating and my doctor called me today that I had to put on a Estrogen Patch. I thought this was a bad sign, but she said it wasn't. So on Dec. 5, I go in for a preg. test.

The 2ww is so painful. The symptoms I have are bloating, some cramping, and moodiness. But that is about it. I was pregnant once and it totally feels like the same feeling.

I hope this helps. Let me know what other symptoms you feel.
