New - been building up courage to join in

Post by tuxdeo cats »

Both my husband and i are 28. We have been trying for a baby for almost 5 years now. We have tried clomid for 6 months and 3 IUIs - all negative.
My husband has a slightly low sperm count (between 8 and 15 million - it fluctuates) and mobility is between 10 and 15%.
Nov 05 our first ICSI - 4 embryos - had 2 returned -ive.
April 05 FET only 1 survived -ve result.
Nov 06 ICSI - 3 embryos (slight over stimulation after egg retrival)
had 2 returned (last embryo poor quality) --ve result again.

Feeling dreadful. Been back to consultant - she has suggested blood clotting tests (never heard of these before - anyone ??) for me. My periods are slightly longer than average (about 40 days) but all tests have come back clear.

When we started trying we bought a bigger house and a family estate car - thinking it would happen. 5 years later nothing still. This weekend we went and exchanged the estate for an Audi TT (only 2 seats) - just got fed of having the empty seats in the back.

Sorry my post has kind of gone on...its taken me a few weeks to post. :?
5 years trying
3 IUI -ive
Nov 05 ICSI -ive (2 frozen)
April 06 FET -ive
Nov 06 ICSI -ve

tuxedo cats: I am so sorry to hear about your bfns. I have been there and what can you say, except it sucks. I am on fresh cycle #3, and know repeated failures are so discouraging. I can relate to the house/car thing. 2 yrs into ttc, i needed a new car...so bought a volvo suv...perfect and safe for kids. How idealistic i was. . the way i am going, by the time i am preg, we will be trading it in for something else...

So have you decided if you are going to do the testing and try again? No need to hurry into the decision. Take your time and get your feet under you again. i am so glad you joined, please keep us posted!

hi tuxedo cat

welcome to this board!! i'm so sorry about all your heartache! just wanted to ask when you are likely to start IVf again?? once you know i would suggest joining that month's thread on the general forum. at the moment there is a dec/jan thread and a feb thread - it just means you can chat with people who are all cycling that month and going through the same thing.

i really hope your dream comes true very soon!!
