Really bad article in the Standard today, re The London Fertility Centre, not at all positive, and really slagging off the guy there - scanned through it on way back to the office, but if anyone is interested?

I am sure there are good and bad cases everywhere, and at each centre, but this lady is not holding back the punches!

Better do some work now!
Me 34, DH, 37. Married for 11 years, ttc for 6+, failed 4 x fresh IVF tmts. 5th attempt at Lister Hospital gave us Megan on 5 April 2004 with a very straightforward pregnancy and labour. Attempt number 6 to start hopefully September 2007!
O dear Just read it - shes REALLY not very happy is she!
Are you at the LFC Dawn - or is anyone else here??

I Have to say I think she sounds a bit like shes gone a little bit off the rails generally

I have been at the LFC - and the one thing I agree with in the article is that when the process started I didnt see the same doctor twice and it did seem a bit manic. But I think thats largely because my consultant was ill throughout the whole process - and that cant really be helped

I do think that they need a good "office manger" there, because it just feels SO busy and a bit disorganised at times

HOWEVER - the nurses, the embryologists and the doctors and anethatist (cant spell!) were all REALLY helpful and kind. And I didnt experience the "not being made to feel special " bit. They were sweet. but at the end of the day - they are there to help your mental state they are there to do the medical stuff.....

The bits about them threatening to stop the tmt when she didnt pay....um well...if you go privately, then um...you have to pay!

I do feel sorry for her because she has let it completely destroy her life - but if she hated the LFC so much why did she go there 5 times?!

I dunno I just get the feeling that shes completely devastated and lashing out a BIT unfairly. Altho I do think the LFC could be a BIT more organised - we did have a moment wobbly just before ec when we suddenly thought "ahhhhh noone is really IN CHARGE of our case", but I think they genuinely work as a team (thinking about it we were actually warned , when we first went there, that each doc was bascially interchangeable)

And hey some of the greatest medical discoveries have happened in choatic labs...look at penicillin!!

Ok Enough from me!!

ps - do I have the perogative to completely change my view if/when I get a -ve in 2 weeks?!
