I'm laughing at you all on the threads knowing and waiting

So.... Oliver is here!!!!! OMG, things went as predicted in terms of pace and I've yet to catch my breadth.
For those that love details...

Monday was as busy as any other day, out shopping in the morning, putting the tree up in the evening (FINALLY - note Tammy!)... Went to go to bed just after 12 (should have known as that in itself is strange!) and had a wee bit of fluid loss. Very small, but I stood in the toilet for a bit 'just in case' (didn't want to wet the carpet!). When it happened again, Steve made me phone Triage who told me to come in - actually, they almost had to persuade me as I felt absolutely fine

Had a couple of pains in the car, but nothing to make me think that was it and got to the hospital just before 1am. They monitored me and said I was contracting about every 4 mins, but I still felt ok - they even contemplated sending me home but wanted to scan me again as they weren't sure he was turned (even though we'd gone through all this last week...).
WELL...whilst scanning the first one hit. No build up! That must have just been after 2am. Got back to the Triage room and when she had a wee look I was 4 cm dilated! Gas and air quickly followed and when I told them I felt pressure, boy did they move!!

Anyway, the Triage nurse didn't even hand over - she ended up staying as it was all so quick and Oliver was born at 3.22am. No time for gas and air - but I have to confess, it was very controlled and quite easy

We were kept in hospital for a few days as he wasn't feeding right because he's so small he gets tired easily. I'm feeding him what he can manage himself, then topping him up with expressed milk through a syringe - desperatly trying to expand his tummy and give him more energy. He's a wee bit jaundiced but otherwise great.
I feel good (but triedness and reality are setting in - hurrah!!). Had a few stitches because of his speedy arrival but that's about it).
So, go with your instincts girls - don't take chances and listen to your bodies. Think the raspberry leaf tea must have worked...

Take care all. I'll keep you posted!
