ivf results

Post by ebonifreeman »

Hello All.

Can someone pleaeeeese help me. My ivf retrieval was on 12/05/06 and my transfer was a five day blast on 12/10/06. I was feeling a little crampy about five days after my transfer. My last cycle started on 11/20/06. I took a hpt on 12/18/06. It was negative. I am sooooo frustrated. Could it be too soon??? Im thinking I should atleast get a faint read by now, right?? Also, I am on estradiol and progesterone. Could this be making my period late??? I am in such distress. I feel like this did not work but my beta test is not until 12/26/06.

Thanks

Hi Eboni,

I had my ER on 12/9 and ET on 12/12. I have also been experiencing mild cramping. When I spoke to the nurse today when I went for my first Beta she told me that cramping is normal if you are taking progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone that we release after ovulation so to have menstrual symptoms is not unusual. Sounds like a cruel joke to me. In any event, cramping and sore boobs are supposedly normal if you are on progesterone. Some of the HPT's don't measure the HCG levels when they are this low so I wouldn't worry about that yet. I have my 2nd test on Friday. Why are they waiting so long for you to take your beta?

Hang in there, this is the toughest part!

hugs,
Ange

If you're doing HPTs, be sure you're using an early response version if you want to test that early. Many won't be sensitive enough at this phase. Also, it's best at this early stage to use first morning urine since your levels could still be low.

This reference shows a lot of different HPTs and their sensitivity level.

I got my first HPT to show up positive (on an early response version) 9dp3dt or 12dp ER. But it was still very faint.

I agree that your beta seems really late. You might be able to move that up a few days and get a real answer sooner so you won't worry so much.

Good luck - I hope you get a positive!
