Hi Vanessa

We are being treated at St Mary's, we had our meeting in dec last yr, we then had to have several tests done, i had to go for blood tests they want forms completed from yr gp, a recent smear test result and they ask your local hospital to do a scan, mine wouldn't do this though cos i was being treated at st mary's anyway st marys did the scan so it all worked out ok, dp(boyfriend) had to do his sample, they send you an appt through the post we got our appt through for feb, everything with us was a bit slower though cos of the xmas hols. As soon as dp did his sample we got our appt to see the consultant which was for march, after that they tell u when u can start ringing for tmt. We are having iui so the 1st month they told us to ring which was april we got seen straight away, unfortunatly out tmt got abandoned that month, so we tried again in may and got straight on we managed to complete the tmt but it didn't work, we have had a month off cos i didn't want to try again straight away but we should be trying again in the next couple of weeks. We were lucky cos we are on iui its not as complicated so we got seen straight away, but i know someone who was having ivf and it took them 3 months before they could start tmt.
Hope this helps you and if you need any more info just give me a shout.
How long have you been on the list?
I'm going to write off now, slightly drunk and waiting for the next episode of Big Brother.
Take care and hopefully speak to you soon
Lots of love
Jackie

Hi Vanessa
I am at St Mary's in Manchester.
I have just received a letter for the meeting too. It is on 11/8/03. I presume you are attending the same one.
How long were you on the waiting lst for? I have been on it for 2 years in September. We should have gone to the last meeting in June but we were away on holiday.
Before I start the treatment (which I have been told will be at the end of the year) I need an operation to remove my tubes. This should happen in September.
Which consultant are you with? I am with Dr Fitzgerald.
Maybe I will bump in to you at the meeting!!
Speak soon
Lynda

Thanks for your replies!
I am under Dr Fitzgerald too, and she has already done all our tests like bloods etc, and dh count and got GP letters back... we were told all this was done before we could go on to the waiting list!
Yes it is the meeting on the 11/8/03, we got our letter yesterday and DH phoned me at work to tell me! We also have an appointment at the joint fertility clinic on 31st July as we have PCOS and a male factor so need ICSI.
I'm hoping this meeting will help answer lots of questions we have!!
Good luck with your next IUI Jackiey!
And no doubt will bump into you Lynda at St Mary's!
Love Vanessa

Hi Vanessa

We had all the tests, letters from gp etc done before we went on the waiting list but we still had to have them done again before they could actually start the tmt, there was a letter in the info pack that they gave us at the meeting telling us what had to be done again, so think you will probably have to have tests again, but could be wrong, when we went for our meeting there were probably about 60 other couples there and it was helpful, Dr Leibramaum did the talk and they also had an embriologist there to explain things.

Good luck for the future
Love Jackie
