Sorry if this is TMI!!

Post by shanny »

Hi,

My dr says we can have sex after 8 weeks. I am scared. Again, I just don't want to do something that would make me have a miscarriage. I understand that most normal pregnancies it is fine all the time, but what suddenly changes after 8 weeks?

What have your doctors said? What are you going to do?(I don't want details just are you gonna start when he says you can :D ) Thanks and sorry again if this is TMI!!!

i was told after each ivf to wait till 12 weeks... not sure why, but we did not always wait.... this pregnancy we had spotting and were told no sex untill 2 weeks after the last spotting....so it was longer this time then the others... i think that each Dr has their own idea of why... we were told 12 weeks, because the rate of miscarrage drops greatly....

take care, enjoy your pregnancy and follow your own feelings...

Hi Shanny I too have been pondering this one! I have read that if you have a low risk pregnancy it should be fine to get jiggy under the duvet as normal  but I have to say like you, I am worried about harming anything. I mean, if this is your first pregnancy how are you supposed to know if you are low/high risk or not? dh and I haven't wanted to take any chances so we have been abstaining since we found out. I am now almost 10 wks. We are going to wait til after 12 wk scan then go for it tee hee!!

Hey girls thanks for the reply. Lis, I'm thinking what you said sounds good. I have told myself we would tell people we're pregnant when we're 12 weeks, I'll feel more confident at 12 weeks, it will seem more real at 12 weeks. So that seems to be a good time to wait. Good luck and thanks for not thinking I was too weird and writing to me!!
