faint positive test

Well girls, I feel so annoyed with myself - i did a home pregnancy test today 13 days after ovum retrieval. I really dont know why I did it!

I have got a faint positive. Do you think this could be from the Pregnyl HCG injection I had on 26th Feb???

I had two good grade 4 cell embryos put in on 2nd march.

The clinic told me to do test on 19th but that is so far away!

sometimes you can get a faint positive or false positive with the home pregnancy test. This could be due to the hcg trigger which you get because the HPT measures hcg hormone in your blood.You should give some time for the injectible hormone to go down in your blood . This takes some days.Then repeat the HPT. But the most reliable method is blood test.

My guess is that by 13 dp ER, the hcg should be well out of your system, so I'd say you can be cautiously optimistic if you haven't had any hcg shots since 2/26. Most HPTs are intended to be used on the first day of your missed period which in IVF terms is about 15 days after ER, usually, so again, I'd say a faint positive is good news. Keep us posted!

We must have been on the exact same schedule. I did my hcg shot on 2/26 and retrieval on 2/28 and then day 3 transfer on 3/3. I was to have my beta test on Thrusday but I couldn't wait any longer and I to took an HPT. It was positive. I called my RE scared that the HCG trigger was still in my system they told me that at 16 days after HCG trigger shot it was a very, very slim shot that the shot was still in my system. They told me to consider myself pregnant. They pushed my beta up, I'm going tomorrow!

So I would say to you CONGRATS!!! Looks like we are due November 22nd!!!

Rebecca and Cat~ FINGERS ARE SUPER CROSSED!!!!!! I hope you both get your big BFP from your beta test!!! I'm so excited for you both!!! Sounds like we have two more PG women aboard!!! CONGRATS!!!

I did the exact same thing. I tested with a hpt 7 days before my beta was due & got a very faint positive. I continued to test daily until my beta - the line got darker and darker. I would say you are pregnant! It would be so unlikely that the shot would still be in your system.

Morning all!!

I do hope you are all right! I did another pee test this morning and it was more positive than yesterday so am going to ring my clinic and see if they will see me sooner rather than later.

Rebeccaj - its good to know I am not the only impatient one! I hope we both end up with BFP's confirmed by our clinics. I dont know about you chick but i cant stop smiling.

I know I can't stop smiling either. I just got back from having my blood work done. I'll know tomorrow if this is for real or not. I'm so excited. Let me know as soon as you get your results and I'll let you know about mine!!!!

Rebecca - I cant believe you have had your blood work done already - i am so jealous. My clinic wont see me until monday!!!!

Have started to feel really nauseous this afternoon. I couldnt eat my lunch which so isnt like me. Normally I hoover up anything in sight so its quite bizarre really!

Monday!!!! Oh no I'll be on pins and needles waiting to hear from you. I was scheduled to go on Thrusday but when I received my positive HPT I called the Nurse at my RE's office and asked her if I could go a day early. She said no problem.

Good news for you is your beta numbers should be nice and solid by Monday.

Question...are you having any cramping? Mine is very, very light but I feel like AF is going to come at any minute. Kind of nervous about that. I've had a little bit of quesiness but no sickness yet.

Hi Becky

My cramps come and go but can get quite bad and stop me in my tracks. I have been having them for a week nearly now.

I spoke to my friend today who has just had a little girl. She said she had really bad cramps between finding out she was pregnant and being 7 weeks pregnant. She said she felt like she was going to come on her period anytime but the midwife reassured her it was normal. Now she has reassured me so guess I feel a little better.

The nausea has eased off now (hurrah!) just hoping it doesnt reappear anytime soon however if I get a baby out of this I would be happy to have it every day for the next ten years!

ALright ladies. . .I hear pregnancy in every post!!!! You are are PG, in my opinion, of sure!!!!!!

You both just make me smile. The moment you start getting signs you are PG is something you will never forget. I am just thrilled for you both!!!!!!!!!1

Just got my beta results!!! Positive beta level was 129!!!! Going tomorrow for the 2nd blood test to make sure the numbers are doubling. Praying things are going to be ok. I won't have my results for tomorrows blood work until Monday so it's going to be a long weekend!

Cat, I just know it's going to be positive for you!!!! Can't wait to hear from you on Monday!

Please feel free to butt in anytime!!! Good luck on your stims. I know how stressful it is! I'm going through a really strange period right now, I don't feel really, really, happy and excited. I'm more nervous and scared to death I'll miscarry again. Last time I got pregnant naturally and miscarried right at the beginning of my 7th week. I'm just optimistic now and looking forward to meeting these milestones!!!
