OB Care

Post by daniellewngs »

I am new to your group as I just got my BFP a couple days ago. This was my 1st IVF/ICSI, though I had 7 failed IUI's.
My ER was 2/24 and I had a 3 day transfer on 2/27. I returned to my Dr. today for my 2cd visit since my BFP and he told me I should be under the care of an OB. We are active duty military, so it's easy enough for me to find one and start my treatment, but wondering how long in general you have waited till your first appt. with an OB. My infertility Dr. I see now, will keep me under his care for a total of 10 weeks, but I still need an OB. And advice or guidance anyone could give would be appreciated.
Also, has it been explained to you how they calculate the due date. I forgot to ask this morning.

My OB wouldn't even make an appointment for me until I was released from my RE. I wound up being released at 8 weeks and saw my OB at 11 weeeks.

First of all, congrats! It's pretty crazy finally getting that positive, huh? My RE didn't release me until 10 weeks...and I won't see my OB until next week, when I'll be 13 weeks. She said I'll see her once a month until closer to due date and then once every two weeks after that. I'm wishing you a very smooth and happy pregnancy!

HELP-OB Care and Twins

Post by daniellewngs »

Had my first US today and it's twins. My Doctor will release me at week 9 and the OB I am scheduled to see (at an army hospital on the military post where we live) won't see me till week 12. Has anyone who has had or having twins gone to a Maternal-Fetal Specialist or an OB/GYN for their care and at what week did they begin care. I am having a very hard time deciding on who specializes in high risk pregnancy's and twins. Any advice would be appreciated.

Congrats on twins!!!! Me too!! Come join us on Double Trouble. It's always great to add more to the twin group!

My Fertility Dr. said that most OB/GYN's feel comfortable with twins these days and to just be sure and ask them about it before committing to them for you whole pregnancy. My Ob/ Gyn has had alot of experience with twins and high risk so I am feeling good about him. Although, I did switch from the one I use to go to. I was also released at 9 weeks and will see my Ob this Friday and I will be 11 weeks.

Did you to the Pregnancy calculator that is on this web page? That will tell you your due date if you don't know yet. I think with the info I read it is November 17. Hope that is close.

Good luck and take care!!! See you on Double Trouble!!!!!
