ER Finally

Post by jenn1979 »

Hi Ladies I have not posted in a while...Just been going through alot and i am sure most of you can relate.
So, I had my er today. It went ok and they retrived 9 eggs, which by the way were all on my left. My right side was hopless due to two cysts that are rather large.
We are using my husbands banked seman...I wont know much more until tomorrow. They did say that the doctors are hoping for a 5 day transfer based on my situation.

What do you think?? Am I in a good position right now...is 9 too little?

Thanks girls!

I could not help but post since your screen name is my sister's prefered name. Anyway, I only had 5 eggs retrieved, 2 made it to ICSI and only one divided. My 5 day transfer turned into a 36 hour transfer and I cried most of the way through my 2ww. However, it only took one and my little one is on 10 weeks away from my scheduled c-section. I will pray for you.

Good Luck!

Hey Racheal!!

Thanks for your reply. I am happy to say that on day 2 they called and said 8 were fertilizing!! I couldn't believe it. On day 3 my husband and on went in and all 8 were still going strong, 6 8 cell and 2 10 cell. We decided to wait till day 5/6 to do transfer.

NOw my delema is weather I should put 1 or 2 emmbies in. My doctor suggests just 1 because of my age. They really dont support multiple pregnancies because they are high risk. But I would feel better with 2. At the same time I don't want to be greedy. I would rather have one healthy baby than take the chance of having complications.
Also, do you know if one embryo splits if it is genetics or higher chance of it happening in ivf emmbies?

Sorry for the babbling...

Thanks so much and I wish you all the best through out your pregnancy!!

Thank you....I will be going for a 6 day transfer tomorrow, and we decided we will go with 2 embies instead of transfering just one.

I wish you all the best through out your cycle!!
