egg donation in spain?

Post by gill12 »

Hi :D ,I hope someone can help. Recently we heard that lots of couples are going to Barcelona for treatment as there is no waiting list for ed. Has anybody been for treatment in spain? and if they have would they recomend it? We would be very very greatful for any information anybody has on going abroad for treatment. We've been trying now for 9 years, had 4 cycles 2 of which were with ed and all failed. We have been on the waiting list for an ed for two years since our last cycle failed and we're still no closer to finding one, im 37 and my dh is 38 and we're hoping that spain is the answer.

Hi Gill

In reply to your message about ED in Spain. We went to IM in Barcelona. It took two attempts but we now have a beautiful baby boy.

The clinic looked after us very well. They were professional and supportive. IM is expensive compared to other clinics (around £7000 per cycle) but we were very happy with our treatment. We chose IM partly on recommendation by my GP and partly because of the short flying time.

If you contact them direct , by email , they will answer any of your questions. An English Doctor is available to contact, so there are no language problems. There are no waiting lists for ED treatment.

If you have any specific worries please email me. I would be happy to try and help if I can.

Take care and good luck

Jill,

I can't recommend IM highly enough. I'm 43 years old and after 2 failed IVF cycles here in the UK we were pretty despondent until I found the IM on the internet. We have made several visits to the clinic and the standard of care is fantastic: they are really focused on success. I am waiting to take my first blood test tomorrow and (after 2 embryos transferred 2 weeks ago). Regardless of whether or not this round was successful I have no hesitation in recommending IM to you. We wish we had found them sooner and saved ourselves the grief of IVF with my aged eggs. Unfortunately, the NHS clinic we went to were EXTREMELY reluctant to discuss any overseas clinics and would not name any.

We've dealt mainly with 2 doctors and the IM - one of them English and the other Spanish. Both spoke at least two languages and the receptionist spoke at least 3! So, communication is not a problem at all. And you know what??? No waiting lists.
