Is it necessry for the ovarian cysts to go completely before proceeding to ivf cycle??
I have searched this topic and getting mixed results.
Can anyone help me on this
From what I understand - yes. All true cysts must be resolved before IVF commences. It is normal to have multiple follicles-in-waiting at the start, but not cysts.
I went thru my first IVF attempt last month and on the initial ultrasound they saw a small cyst on one of my ovaries. The nurse said we were fine to go ahead with the cycle if my bloodtests showed that it wasn't producing/responding to hormones, which it wasn't. My cycle ended up being cancelled after 2 weeks of stims because of low follicle production. After every ultrasound/bloodtest I'd ask about the cyst and they said it never changed and they weren't concerned about it. I go for a new ultrasound/bloodwork on Monday, to start this round of IVF, so I'll see what it looks like then.
i had cyst verry larg had to cancel ivf had lap to remove cyst and sever endo now on lupron start stims on 4-29 hoping for the best but i am 22 years old ttc 4 years and it was my 2 lap hope you dont half to cancel good luck
Thanks for the replies ladies
I know cyts are very nasty things.Actually my !st cycle was also cancelled just after 6 days of stims. My E2 level was very high so i was under the risk of OHSS.
The follicles were left immature due to stopping of the stims and they eventually turned into cysts.
I am on BCP now and hoping it would take care of the cysts and start my 2nd cycle when the cysts are clear
