HcG question

Post by wannabeone »

I got a BPF today and my level was 272. The doctor said this was a good level. My question is what day am I on? Do I count from the retrieval or the transfer? Thanks!

Probably best to count from retrieval.

Embryos should implant about 7 days after retrieval, regardless of when they are transferred.

Most clinics measure hCG about 10 days after blastocyst transfer or about 12 days after day 3 transfer. Either way, that's about 15 days after retrieval. An hCG of 272 at that point is very good.

Congratulations.

Congratulations! I also got a BFP on Tuesday and my count was 290, and that was 11 days post transfer for 5 day blasts. You should go by conception date, which typically is the same as retrieval date. Did they tell you when you would be able to do your ultra sound? I have to have blood work every other day (yesterday was 691, two days after the first beta) and I should be able to have my sonogram by the middle of next week. How many embryos did you transfer?

Congratulations Torrie! I guess I am 11 days post 3 day transfer. We put in two embryos, so maybe it's on the high end for single, but low for twins. eek

My clinic likes to do the u/s at 6.5 weeks, but we are supposed to fly cross-country on May 11 which would be about 6 weeks, so we'd have to do the u/s at about 5.5. They said I prob. wouldn't see a heartbeat, but they could at least confirm that the preg. is not ectopic. I'm really paranoid about ectopic b/c I'm imagining little twinges on the side of my abdomen, but I'm not at all at risk.

How are you feeling? Is this your first IVF or have you had others? Good luck with everything!
