two week wait and symptoms

Post by Angela37firsttimeivf »

Hi everyone, I know this has been done to death but I can't concentrate on anything else at the moment and want to post my own contribution!
I'm on my first IVF. I had 13 eggs, 11 of which fertilised so I have 9 frosties. I had my transfer on Tuesday with two top quality eggs, in fact the biologist said "with a bit of luck you will be pregnant now" which shocked me a bit. Should she be giving me all that much hope?

I'm now on Crinone 8% once a day which I started the day after retrieval. Since transfer I've been having loads of symptoms. The worst one is feeling sick (particularly in the evenings) and heartburn a long time after meals. Plus the usual ones like tiredness, cramping, twinges on right and left, bloatedness, mad munchie attacks.

I know this could all be down to the hormones but cant help hoping it's good news (even though I'm only 3 days past transfer). I also had a few drops of pinkish discharge yesterday, but only a very small amount, then it went away again.

Anyway, does anyone think this sounds positive or is it too early to tell? Anyone have around the same timing as me and fancies sharing their thoughts?

By the way, I've had two ectopics so am nervous am going to get a third...

All the best for anyone testing in the near future, Angela.

Hi Angela,

I'm also on my 2ww, i had fet on 24th, I'm only having mild discomfort in my lower abdomen, as it wasnt full ivf I dont have as much discomfort from the egg retrieval.

I think everything sounds really positive for you. The pinkish discharge that you have had 3 days following transfer could be an implantation bleed, this can sometimes occur and if it was me, I would take it as a good sign.

My fingers are crossed for you, good luck.

I also did IVF w/ ICSI on Tuesday so same time table. I had 22 eggs retrieved - 13 fertilized - 2 were transfered as 5 day Morula and only 1 made it to good quality blast on day 6 to freeze. So my backup isn't looking great since the 1 might not even survive the thaw. Also I am a little worried that they were about a day behind in development. The ones transferred and frozen were considered "excellent" quality. There were 4 others that made it to morula and 1 to blast but they all arrested by day 6.

I think the little pink sounds like it very well could be implantation bleeding. The timing sounds about right.

So far I don't really have any symptoms of anything, not that I would expect any yet either way. Just a anxious which is mostly just the situation possibly slightly compounded by the additional hormones.

Good Luck!
