Flying during 2ww?

Post by ellie16 »

Hi

Does anyone know what the advice is re flying during 2ww? I will hopefully be starting this on 5/7, but both dh and I have 2 weeks annual leave starting 9/7. It is our only opportunity for a holiday this year, as his time off is set and cannot be changed.

I wouldn't do anything that might jepordise chances of a good outcome, but have to be realistic. If cycle is unsuccessful then we'll both have missed our only chance to get away this year....and it has been a rough year emotionally, so a break would be good for both of us.

On the other hand, if we had good news then I would not risk flying....but by the time we find out, we'll have just 2 days left before returning to work.

Help! I am happy to just stay at home if thats what's recommended, but I don't want to miss out on a break this year (esp if outome is -ve), only to find out later that it might have been ok to fly....any advice/thoughts would be most welcome.

Thanks
Ellie

hai ellie
I think flying is absolutely okay. I did my procedure in a different place and i had the doubt as you. i was ready to stay there till th test and the doctor it dosent matter if i fly or take a train. He said it dosent make any diffrence. But see to that you dont fall sick there becaus you are not supposed to take much of antibiotics. You can go relax and dont exert yourself. Have a nice time.

Hi Sweety

Thanks a million for your reply - I hadn't considered that some people need to fly anyway because of location of clinic from home. I think I'll check out a few possibilities and then when I se Dr on the 22/6 see what she says about it. Maybe just a short break, and somewhere not too far away.

A break would be very welcome for us both right now - its reassuring to think we may not have to give it up after all. If we get a -ve outcome then we will be glad we managed to get away...I daren't hope too much for a long awaited +ve, though I'm trying so hard to think positive.

Thanks a lot!
