Hi Guys,

I've felt unwell today and just after I had my third injection of menopur starting bleeding like a period.

The IVF has all happened so quick most of it has been done over the phone.

I have just checked out some general notes on the net and it says you are supposed to phone the clinic (after sniffing) when your period arrives. But they didn't tell me this. They told me to sniff on day 21 then gave me a date for the baseline scan which was Thurday . On Thurday said everything was OK and to inject Sunday.

Nothing was mentioned about whether I had started a period. So started injecting without starting a period , does this matter has anyone done this or does everyone start a period before injecting???

Now I'm really worried they have either forgotton, given me the wrong info or something is wrong with me bleeding.

I have been waiting for the FSH of 8 for months. I was also bleeding for 20 day prior to sniffing so it was touch and go whether they would continue with the treatment even with a good FSH.

Sorry if this sounds garbled but I'm in a panic and have no one to phone.

Can anyone tell me whether it's normal to start injections before a period or whether it's normal to bleed after starting the injectins.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Cazzy

hi cazzy,
im afraid i cant answer your question as everyone seems to have different tmts. i would definitely phone your clinic just so they can reassure you that all is ok. my clinic kept getting my tmt plans wrong so i phoned them every time i felt unsure about something.

take care and all the best cazzy,
kathryn
x
Hi Cazzy, I think everything is ok. I started sniffing on Day 21 and on Day 28 had a period as normal (it was a bit lighter than usual but lasted the same amount of time). The clinic did say at the before I started sniffing that I would get a period.

If you are not sure - give your clinic a ring - it will put your mind at rest.

Love

Dolly

Thanks Both, I have phoned the stop gap clinic who are contacting the fertility unit and the consultant. The nurse said this should not be happening after I started the injections so the cycle may be cancelled.
Sat here crying , even my cats are upset
Will let you know later, thanks for posting
Cazzy
Cazzy,
Lets hope that they don't need to cancel - its so hard especially when you've been waiting so long for the treatment to start.
You really don't deserve this after all you have been through.
Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for you.
Take care.
Gill
xxx
hi cazzy

oh cazzy this is so unfair...

every time i have had tmt i sniff on day 21 then af a week later then you start injections. I know every one has different tmt but i'm sure they should of asked you at your base line scan if af has arrived as they check to make sure it has come away properly.

I hope your tmt is different and it is not cancelled, it is down to the person doing baseline to ask you these question's.

i'm so annoyed for you
from july ann

Thanks All,

I'm still bleeding badly . I have spoken to the actual fertility clinic now who say they want me to carry on with the medication until Sunday but it looks very unlikely the cycle will continue after that.

They have never had anyone bleed whilst on menpour (only on down reg)especially on 6amps and 5 days into the injections. I'm either not reacting to the drugs or whatever follicle(s) was growing have now broken down.

Because this has never happened before they want me to continue just to be sure but said not to get my hopes up at all and be prepared for cancellation. Part of me wishes they could scan me now and just get it over with but they need a full week of injections before making a decision.

I have to rest and may need a blood transfusion me next week or earlier if it continues. I'm on bed rest which is why I haven't been here earlier. Sorry for not replying sooner.

I'm also so upset that I've cried for 2 days, this was my last hope and it's fading fast.

Thanks again for your support, I will post on Sunday.

Hope everyone else trying this month has better luck.

Hugs
Caz
xxx

PS Traci, thanks so much for phoning Hun, Paul didn't pick up his text until today and I was in bed today feeling sick and very sorry for myself. Even the cat looked miserable and came to lie with me

I will be in touch soon, thanks for caring it meant a lot to me as my family don't give a rats arse and not one of them have phoned to see how it's going - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr -- sorry that's the hormones
Oh Cazzy - what a dreadful time you're having. I think it sounds really negligent of the clinic that they don't know what's happening to you but won't scan you or do any blood tests to see what's going on until Sunday. If you feel up to it I think I'd be inclined to kick up a bit of a fuss and get them to see you today. Talk of possible blood transfusions sounds really serious stuff. Please look after yourself - and make sure that your clinic look after you properly - your health is the most important thing.

Love

Alison x
