betas were doubling then slowed down/despite got a SAK

Post by mashd »

I'm a new member and looking for some insight. My first beta was 107 on day 11 (1 day early). Then, 3 days later my second beta was 356 (i was told beyond perfect). My third was 7 days later and was only 950 - didn't double twice over a week, and my fourth 2 days later 1050. Thankfully , depsite the lack of doubling between my 3rd and 4th, we saw the Sak developed on Ultrasounds and were so relieved. What could this mean? Could we get a heartbeat next week if the betas don't continue to rise substantially? What do these betas actually mean. I get mixed messages. Some say the presence of a sak is more important. Thanks :?:

Dear Mashd~ I really have no idea what it all means but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and I hope everything turns out fine! It's scary but try to stay focused on being positive and relaxed. Let us know how everything is going. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

Take care~

Hi Mashid,

Here is my story. First two beta tests showed that my HCG level is up over 60% which I was told OK. Then the third beta test showed that it did not raise to the level it supposed to. We had the fourth beta and it confirmed that the pregnancy development slowed down. Week later we had sonogram and the doc did not see the yolk sac. He told us to stop any medication and expect a miscarriage. well, it happened 3 days later.

Good luck to you!

I've seen hCG drop briefly when one sac of a multiple pregnancy was lost, then recover and resume the increase, with a normal live birth at the end.

It can happen.
