1st IVF in August - Any possible cycle buddies?

Post by Jill_n_Mark »

Hello everyone! This will be my first IVF cycle and I am really nervous and anxious. I had my consult on June 29th with blood work...everything came back normal. I had a mock transfer and hysteroscopy on July 3rd...everything looked good. My RE is to call me either middle or end of July to start BCP and then I will start injections in August. Seems like it's taking forever to get here, but I know it will be here soon.

I hope to have some of you to go through this with. I have never talked to anyone going through IVF but I have been reading alot of the topics out here...sure is a lot of support and I hope to join the BFP club!

Take care and hope to talk with many of you soon!

Starting my cycle soon too

Post by julianna26 »

Hi, my name is Julianna and my husband and I are starting our first cycle this month. We are doing IVF with ICSI. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. We have three sons from his first marriage and he had a vasectomy after the last one was born. So when we met and married a couple years ago, we tried a vasectomy reversal, but this failed. Our next step has now been IVF. I started the birth control pills 2 days ago to regulate my cycle before the shots begin. I've always been scared of needles but now I'm going to have to get over it because I would love a child so much!

Please wish me luck and baby dust to everyone!

Hello ladies,

My name is Cecilia and I am also starting a first-time IVF cycle in July/August. Julianna, our situation is similar to yours: we are doing IVF with ICSI. My husband had an accident as a teenager and basically has a vasectomy, but they told us not even to bother with vasectomy reversal since it has been so long since his accident that the chances of it working were very low. So his sperm were surgically extracted, and now were are waiting to start on my part. Luckily it seems I am very healthy, so we are optimistic about our chances of success. I know from reading this forum and from the statistics that there are no guarantees, but I've decided to think positively and not stress out as much as possible!

So we are going into the Dr on Wednesday to get our meds and instructions. I am scheduled to start the meds on July 23. I'm so glad to find a group of you who are on the same schedule- this forum seems like such a great source of support.

Best of luck to all!

Welcome Julianna and Cecilia! I have not started my meds as of yet. I am awaiting a call from my RE to start the BCP--I am expecting it to be the week of 23rd. I am glad we can all be here for one another. :D

We have been thru 3 IUI's and the shots were not too bad, however, from what I've been told and read on here, there are more injections with IVF. My RE has advised me of atleast 3 I will be on--Lupron and Gonal-F at same time and then afer the ET, Prometrium. The Lupron and Gonal-F shouldn't be bad as they are subcutaneous in the belly, but I am not looking forward to the Prometrium as they are intramuscular in the hips. Do you all know what protocol you'll be on?

Good luck and baby dust to us all! :D

Hi, ladies. I will be starting IVF around July 29th. This is my 4th IVF/ICSI. I have a 17 month old boy from our 3rd IVF and want to give him a sibling, so going another round. If anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer them.

So nice to hear from others going through same thing!!

Hello to all of you!!!

It is really nice to read about others going through this. I sometimes feel like the only people I can talk to about this is my husband and my mother. I got the call from the Dr today with tentative dates!! Trial transfer is scheduled for July 26 and start the hormone shots on July 28. Egg retrieval on Aug 21 and embryo transfer Aug 24. Pregnancy test Sept 7! So exciting and nervewracking to hear the dates, look at the calendar and think I may actually have a child of my own one day.
GOOD LUCK to all of you!! I hope we can help each other through this.

BFPs and Baby Dust to everyone! I will keep all of the IVF forum girls in my prayers. :)

Hello everyone!

Well, I am glad we have more people joining the post...it sure is hard going thru this with no support except for that of our DH. I am still waiting on my RE to call for my start date of meds. I have calculated the dates in my head and should know something by Sept 7th too! I dont know if any of you are aware, but....Sept 9th is Grandparents day....atleast here in the US. Me and DH are only children and the parents cannot wait for some grandchildren :)

Best of luck to us all!
Hoping we all have BFPs :D

Wouldnt that be bittersweet if we could find out we were pregnant by grandparents day!??!?! Good Luck to ALL of you and I pray every night for all of us that this works and we get a BIG HUGE BFP at the end of all this madness : ) Have any of you done this yet, or is this your first cycle????

Oops. I accidentally created a new subject for this and meant to just reply to this topic.

Meggs1012, that is GREAT NEWS!! I'm so very excited for you. I hope we all can have great news on this site in the weeks to come. Maybe you will rub off on all of us. :D

'm still going between being very nervous and being very excited. I got some bad news today about a friend of mine. They got pregnant the normal way and she was almost 3 months along and had a miscarriage. I know I shouldn't be thinking like this but it's scary to consider finally getting a BFP and then having something like that happen. I hope we can all help each other remain positive and get rid of negative thoughts. I know I really need to work on it!

Take care to all of you and talk to you soon!
