Hi Susan

I had my ET today so officially will be testing on 28th July so I am a little behind you but would welcome the opportunity to chat and give/get support.

I wish you every success in this round! Any advice on how to make it through the 2ww with your sanity intact?

Hi Susan

I know some of your story from what I have read on here and on FF too(where I read lots but don't post). So hope that this will be your time.

I am not (officially) on the 2ww yet but already going utterly insane. I had EC on Friday (at argc).

Friday was a fab day as they collected 23 from me. Yesterday was the pits. 10 were not mature. Only 13 suitable. Of those only 7 fertilised even with icsi. Plus they indicated that a couple did not look very good. Think that my eggs are really rubbish.

We were hoping to do PGS but with less than 10 embies, they would not allow/recommend. Hoping to do a D5 transfer but now looks like it will be a D3 transfer tomorrow and if we get that far then a test on July 27th/28th.

Tracey - looks like we might be testing right around the same time. What is your story? You can see some of mine from my ticker. This is my 4th Fresh attempt and not too sure how many more I can take emotionally or financially.

They told me to expect a call from the embryoliogists between 10am - 11am but now 1/4 past 11 and waiting for the phone to ring and tell me how our 7 little ones are doing. Been ok up to this point but extreme stress really kicking in already for me. Keep looking at my phone and willing it to ring.

Where did you cycle this time? I am going back to work too. Took last week off work for the 2nd week of stimmies to manage twice daily clinic visits but cannot bear to sit around and do nothing other than go insane. Hope that work is not too bad for you tomorrow. I am going back after 9 days off and it feels weird. Everyone will be asking if I had a good holiday and where I went

I'll post again when I have had a call & know what is going on.

Look forward to chatting more.
Love
Carolyn

Clinic finally called at 12.15ish after me staring at my phone for more than 2 hours. Better news today. All 7 are dividing. 1 2 cell, 1 3 cell, 2 4 cells, 2 5 cells and 1 six cell so quite a spread. Understand that they don't want them to go to fast or too slow. We are having 3 back because of my age. So they think that ET will be tomorrow as they think that they should be able to spot the best ones by then. I had all the immune tests done and sent to Chicago. Thought that might be my issue as have an auto immune disorder but everything came back ok. Which is good as no ivig but bad as no reasons why we have never had any success???

I am with you Susan. I did total bed rest for 3 days for the 1st ivf & went utterly crazy. Last time I tried to carry on as normal. My last consultant implied that as long as you don't do anything mad then if they are going to stay then they will and if not then sadly it is not going to be. I shall rest up on transfer day but after that carry on as usual. Other than I will not go out much in the evenings and sit down with my feet up and get dh to run around for me. Will not do any cleaning or ironing either.

Raining now in London. So much for the summer.

Hope that you are both doing ok and staying as calm as you can.

Will update you both tomorrow & hope to be joining you on the 2ww.
Lots of Luck
Carolyn

Sorry it's taken me so long to post but my PC has been on the blink!

So here goes: me 37 DH 37 secondary infertility (we have a 7 year old) ttc for 5.5 years! Tried chlomid with no joy so we are in the middle of our first IVF/ICSI.
gbnut: I am off work just now which has been great and it means I have had nothing to worry about other than this IVF(!). If this cycle works I wont go back to work but if it doesnt I will start back in Sept.
We live half way between Reading and Oxford.

Carolyn: My clinic said no bed rest necessary: just no aerobics, baths or swimming. I did take to my bed for 2 days though!

2ww so far seems OK but I am exhausted all of the time and still have really tender stomach from the ER and ET. Do you still have any pain?

Are any of you using the progesterone pessaries?

What day post fertilisation will you be testing? My clinic has given me a HPT to do 17 days after fertilisation! Will you do a HPT before?

Sorry, so many questions. I am so keen to fill my time that I have started baking!!! Very very unusual for me? Banana Bread anyone???

Take care....grow little babies!!!!

Hi Tracey are yiu a teacher?????

Progesterone I am on gestone injection am and cyclogyst pesseray pm.

I am testing 11 days after 5 day transfer so that would be 16 days aftr ec if i had had ec but me done FET. I test with blood test and it is normally after 10 days with blasts but i am not getting it done until the mon. I hate HPT and will stay away as they are evil but that is just me. everytime i have done one befor my blood test it has been neg an deverytime i hav ehad blood test an dnot done one it has been pos so i will try really hard to stay away as it keep my PMA up. when you see a negative it is really sould detroying an dhard to keep up the pma.

I made choco crispies yesterday and i dont normally bake!!!!!

Carolyn how are your embryos today???? did you have for ET today??? if so hope it went well.

Well went to work today and it was ok. came hoem from work early as i was really tired and had agreed that i would do that with DH.

Symptoms are same as yesterday. tired and sore pain in joints in hips, also got itchy nipples!!!!

Take care everyone

Hi Ladies

Well I can now officially join you both on 2ww. Tracey - we will test the same day. Test buddies with identical tickers. How funny. I will be testing 12 days after a 3 day transfer. Happy it is a Saturday so will have the weekend to pick up the pieces rather than being at work. It will be a blood test for me.

Not sure that I will be getting into this baking lark!? Banana bread and choccie crisps shound yummy.

Well I have 3 embies back on board. 1 8 cell and 2 6 cells. Said they were quite good quality and that 2 were starting to compact. Would have liked to get to D5 but cannot have it all. The other 4 are still progressing so we will see if any are good enough to freeze on Wednesday.

I am just on the pessaries twice per day plus heparin, asprine and ritodone. Managed to avoid the gestone somehow Susan.

Glad that you did not overdo it at work Susan. I was told to take a few days off so have excused myself from work for the rest of the week. They will be going crazy with me but................

Tracey - I was very bloated after EC but it has gone down but have been drinking a great deal of water and milk which seems to have helped.

I will try to stay away from the HPTs if I can. Although I do have some. On every try so far, I have bled on D11 so we have known before hand that it is a -ve. Hopefully this time I might get to test day???

Take care both of you. Another day passed by.

Love
Carolyn

Lola

Terrific to hear from you sweetie. How are you doing?

So good of you to drop by and wish us well. I have noticed that you have not been around much of late and presumed that you had run away to Mexico!!!! Has a lot of appeal.

Do let us know how you are doing? Are you taking a break or will you return to yellow & blue sofa city at some stage?

Well 3 back on board. So hoping that it will be different this time. They have told me not to go to work for the rest of this week. Work will be mad at me but who cares. Keep you posted.

Lots of Love

Hi Ladies

Hope that you are doing ok. I have been ok so far but always find the first week ok and the 2nd week super stressful as I always start to spot.

Susan - I have no idea how I missed out on the gestone. Was fully expecting it. Even had the ice packs in the fridge and told dh he would have to help me. Dr Shariff had even said it was likely as I had bled every time before test day. Guess that my progesterone must have been hugh enough without it? Mr T did my perscription so guess that he knows best. Had 3 back on attempt 2. 1st time I was under 40 so only allowed 2 back. Last time we tried to go to blast. Never got there. Just left with two (slow) morulas (spelling on D6) so had those back but with very little hope. How is work going?

Tracey - what have you been doing to pass the time? I ordered series 1 & 2 of Grey's Anatomy but they have not showed up yet.

I have been working from home. Lying on the sofa. Eating. Feel like I have put on so much weight. Not sure that it is all bloating. Too afraid to get on the scales as I will be so depressed.

Have seated tickets to see Keane at the O2 on Saturday evening. With my sister for her birthday. I would not dream of going if it was standing but think that I will be going stir crazy by then. I can get there on the Jubilee line with no changes - about 45 minutes. I will of course allow myself plenty of time. Girls - what do you think - go or not go?

Hope that you are all doing well.
Carolyn
