At last, Baby due March 2008!!

Post by laurie35 »

Hello to everyone.
On the 30th June i hade 2x blastocysts tranfered. As this was my 3rd attempt i was hopefull but new that there was i possibility that it wouldnt work. My dh sperm is of good quality, but my tubes arnt!
Ivf is hard enough without the 2ww but with the help of alot of ladies on this site i made it through.

On the 9th July i had my first hcg(beta) test done and it came back positive 418 :)
And then 48hrs later it had more than doubled to 1345!!!!
I have heard that this is a very good number.
Im not really having any signs yet, sometimes i have sore (.)(.)s but that comes and goes, and sometimes feel a little crampy but also that can be put down to the progersterone.
Im having my first scan on the 4th aug which is a 7wk heart beat scan...im soooo excited for that :) :)

Really trying to enjoy this but also still worring, in the back of my mind dreading that something will go wrong, going to the scan and they not being able to find anything!!

Cant believe that ive made it through this far, and the worst part is we didnt tell anyone bout the ivf and have decided not to tell anyone yet..keep it as our secret for now :)

But that has its downsides because i just want to shout it fron the roof that IM PREGNANT, IM PREGNANT, YIPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hence im posting today, with hope i will fell better by telling everyone here

Congrats to everyone whos had bfp :) to evryone who hasnt yet, dont give up, it will happen, please never stop believing that.

Lots of love

Laurie xx

laurie35, congratulations! I am very happy for you.

Can I ask you a few questions? I live in the UK as well (London). I have just had my first BFN after IVF this week. Still depressed, unfortunately. I am sure you understand how it feels. It is really hard to cope with. We have been trying for 4 years.

1. Did health insurance cover your IVF (at least partially)? If so, what insurance company / plan do you have?

2. What clinic did you do your IVF at?

Thank you!

Hi Pacific

Hi Pacific,
Im really sorry to hear about you BFN, after having 2 myself plus an ectopic pegnancy, i can honestly say i know how you feel.
It will get easier with time, but for now its ok to be sad.

Our health insurance didnt cover any part of the ivf and we had to pay for it all ourselves, which as you have already done it, you know how costly it all can be.

We used the London Fertility Clinic, Harley Street .
They were really good, and also specilise in blastocyst transfer which is what i had.

Are you starting again soon? what clinic do you use?
Good luck with your next cycle, you just must be positive and believe it will happen for you

laurie35, thanks for your reply.

I have just moved from another city. My IVF was done overthere. I am thinking about waiting 2-3 months between cycles and then starting again.

Mine were 1 blast, 1 morula (we put back 2). I will check the London Fert Clinic, thanks for the info.

Congratulations Laurie!!!!!!! Your numbers are great! Maybe you're pg with twins!!!! I know how you feel about wanting to shout it out. We hadn't told many people and by the time we did we were bursting at the seems!!!!
Enjoy the next 8 months. They go by fast and it is so neat to finally be the one that is pg. Take care of each other and best of luck to you and your family.

Hi Laurie,
So nice to read your post today - again, Congratulations on getting this far and it seems like you are well on your way.
I go back to our clinic a week from Thursday to talk about the BFN and to plan the next step - My doctor said he was convinced I could get pregnant (maybe just to put me in a better, more positive frame of mind --?) So, hopefully #3 will work for us as well. Would really be a dream come true.

wishing you and your dh all the best. keep posting. The time will hopefully go by quickly and you'll be able to tell everyone your wonderful news in no time at all.

Take care,
Amy
