Discussion forum for those who had completed their IVF treatments without a successful outcome and are seeking other options such as adoption, surrogacy etc.
Just wondering if there is success after two failed IVFs. My first IVF was sucess and we are blessed with an 18 month old son. I have gone through two more cycles which have failed in the last 7 months. Before this last failure, found out 3 days ago, my Dr. kept saying my chances for sucess are high because of successful IVF. I'm just wondering if it is worth trying one more time or not. Any advice?
Hi, If you feel you can do it again, then I would say try again because you don't want to wonder what if for the rest of your life. My DH & I said right from the beginning we would give it 3 tries-the first 2 were failures and the last attempt, we got PG but sadly a few days later I MC but I feel happy that we tried and it has helped me move on knowing we tried everything & I will never wonder what the outcome would have been. We were so close but it obviously wasn't strong enough to hold on for 9 months!!
We are now going through the early stages of adoption & whilst I was going through treatment I really didn't think it wouldn't eventually work & didn't want to consider failure but now we are so excited that we may have a little one placed with us some time next year if we get through the assessments the IVF seems like a distant memory now & to be honest I'm glad to have l it all over and done with- you know how emotionally draining it all is.
I know you will make the right decision for you & If you feel you really can't go through any more IVF then that's the right decision-just go with your gut feelings-you know what they say 3rd time lucky, well It kind of was for us because we actually got a BFP although it wasn't for very long!!!
My heart goes out to you & I truly understand your feelings right now

I went through 2 IUI's and 2 IVF's. None were successful. We were waiting to start a frozen egg cycle, as we had 4 frozen eggs left from our 2nd IVF. I never got AF and found that I was pregnant, naturally!!!!!!!! It was my very first pregnancy. So, yes you can get pregnant after 2 failed IVF's. Andrew James is almost 6 months old.
Good luck,
Tammy
